The inspiration source for Peony Monogram was a unique stackable monogram design with floral accents from a vintage embroidery publication. Groovy started out as a prospective variant in the ‘Flashback’ series but very quickly established its own distinct appearance, especially with the lower case letters blending into the format so well. There wasn't any preconceived idea to design a retro looking font in principle, it simply evolved that way, but I do think it has several characteristics reminiscent of style genres from the '70s. It’s probably quite subliminal and like me, you may find yourself thinking, what does that remind me of? The double-entendre'd title is quite apt too, not merely for reasons of its outwardly retro appearance but also because of the considered, rounded elements forming the negative spaces throughout. The font also has something of a chameleon-like personality, being both adaptable and capable of having a trendy / fun appearance, or alternatively something solid and stylish, depending on the use, as demonstrated in the banner examples here.

Agatized Informal is a rough-edged stencil typeface with chunky letterforms and tight spacing. Designed primarily for display use, it’s ideal for posters, logos, advertising, book cover designs or small chunks of text such as pull-out quotes. The design is something of an enigma, a curious mish-mash of genres – imagine splicing Uncle Buck and Deadpool into a horror movie – it’s big, bold and funny although has a dark side. But what really makes this typeface a joy to drive is its boot full of alternative characters and ligatures. There is a saying: Use sparingly. Not on this street! THE NORWEGIAN RUNES The oldest runes discovered in Norway date from 400 AD. They were based upon the 24 - rune Elder Futhark of Germanic origin. Two of the runes in the Elder Futhark, Pertra and Eoh, have never been found in any Norwegian rune text. From 550 AD to 700 AD there was a transition period between the older 24-rune Futhark and the newer 16-rune Futharks. By the end of this period, the 24-rune Futhark went completely out of use and the 16-rune Futharks had prevailed. Then, about 900 AD, the Shorttwiggs-runes were introduced from Sweden. Shortly thereafter, from 1000 AD, Futharks with more than 16 runes became more prevalent, as these were more consistent with the Latin alphabet. These types of runes were used in Norway up to 1800 AD.
