New Millennium Linear is one of three font families that share a common name, a common design philosophy, a common x-height, and basic character shapes. (The others are New Millennium and New Millennium Sans; all three work well together.) New Millennium Linear is a "monotone" newer version of the Sans face whose smooth, geometric, "Gothic" look gives it a completely different personality. The typeface comes with regular, bold, italic, and bold italic styles, each with a complete character set. New Millennium Linear might best be used in captions, callouts, labels, titles, and similar display situations.

Monthly Calendar JNL is a companion font to Calendar Blocks JNL, and features classic wood type lettering and numerals from the 1800s. A set of large numbers are on their own keys, while the numbers 1-31 reside on the A-Z and a-e keys respectively. The days of the week are on the lower case “f” through “l” keys, while the names of the months are found on the “m” through “x” positions. An open rectangle is on the lower case “y” key, and a solid black rectangle is on the “z”. For those who wish to use the 23/30 and 24/31 configurations, they can be found on the left and right parenthesis.

I always admired the beauty of Gothic letters, but lamented their low readability. The revivals of Gothic faces are beautiful, but they revive everything, including the traits that prevent readability. Blackletters are fine in ads and titles, but can’t be used in long texts (like books on Middle Ages, Medieval romances etc) where they would be the perfect historical choice. And I wanted to change this scenario. With Giureska, instead of taking one particular face to revive, I chose the best traits from many Gothic faces, i.e. the forms that were pleasant to look and easy to read. For the ‘small caps’, I studied uncial scripts and made a similar selection, adapting everything to make a unified font. With three weights, true italics and the uncials, Giureska can endure a variety of projects, bringing the appeal of Middle Ages much beyond the cover.

Before the mid-to-late 1970s, when retailers started to embrace UPC (universal price code) technology on a grand scale, pricing merchandise took on many forms. One method especially popular with variety stores (such as Woolworth's, McCrory's, Kress, etc.) were pre-printed price tags that came in small pads and were inserted into metal holders. Shelf Tags JNL recreates a vintage price tag based on examples seen online, and allows the user different ways to create their own vintage-style price tags. You can either utilize the round pen nib style numbers and price marks to place on any size or type tag, or type out prices using the reversed characters (white on black) along with the two end caps provided to form a complete tag unit. For the more adventurous, a complete blank tag is also provided in case the desire is to print a solid color tag background and [using the regular numbers] crate prices in custom colors. Designed at ParaType (ParaGraph) in 1992 by Vladimir Yefimov. Based on letterforms of Firmin Didot, a French typographer from the 18th century, ITC Didi, of 1970, by Herb Lubalin and Tom Carnase, and Russian typefaces of the 18th-19th centuries. A little extragerrated decorative stylization of letterforms in the spirit of Modern Serif, with elements of an irony. For use in headlines, in advertising and display typography. Improved and added with Extra Bold, old style figures, ligatures and other symbols in 2010 by the same author.

Professor Minty is a cartoon-inspired kind of comic font with a lotta bounce and a whole buncha spooky fun. Both regular and bold are based on Chank’s first fonts, Mister Frisky and Uncle Stinky. The Bold version is brand new in 2011, never before available. But here both of those fonts are combined into one extra-savvy font that does all kinds of tricks. It has many extra special OpenType features, like Swash, Contextual Alternates and Small caps and more. There’s even a “decaf” feature (Stylistic Set #1) which tones it down a bit if the account people think it is just too exciting. Works good for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day, oddly enough. Who knew those three holidays had anything in common?

Francker is a sans-serif, based on clean and simple design principles that betray its Danish origin. Its curves are based on the “super ellipse”, a mathematical shape about half-way between an ellipse and a rectangle. Francker’s lowercase lettershapes a, b, n, and u, have no spurs, emphasizing the simplicity of their construction. The Francker family is available in two widths, normal and condensed, each in nine weights, from extra light to extra black. Volcano is titling family of four is broken down into a gothic and island style. The island style features a "toothed" look that gives it a very unique look that can be used for a variation of project styles: Jungle, Island, Cruise, Vacation, Tiki, Retro, and Comicbook. The gothic style features a more industrial look and was inspired by gaspipe lettering styles. Library Book Initials JNL was modeled from examples of Sidney Gaunt's Publicity Initials; originally sold in metal type by Barnhart Brothers and Spindler as a companion to the Publicity Gothic typeface. The smoothed-down lines of the original characters allow for these initials to balace better when set against complementary type faces. A regular version is on the upper case keys, with an oblique version on the lower case keys.

Coverack was inspired by some hand lettering spotted by Dave Nalle on a pub menu blackboard during a recent trip to England. It's in the tradition of Celtic uncial lettering, but is extra bold and has some fantastical embellishments. The name comes from a lovely little town on the Cornish coast where the designer stayed during the trip.

Beckinslade is a lovely elaborate blackletter face, released just in time for Christmas, but useable at any time of the year. It is in the best traditions of Victorian Gothic revival, drawing inspiration from a range of sources and marrying them into one homogenous whole. The emphasis is on aesthetics rather than historical accuracy. Great fun though for anywhere ‘ye olde’ look is desired.
