Glotona's Black & White are four modernist typographies written by hand and combinable with each other by layers to create multi-colored typographic headlines. Glotona is my tribute to Bodoni fonts, revolutionary fonts when they appeared in the S XVIII and still in force today. The great contrast between antlers, give foot to the design maintaining the elegance of the modernist typefaces, the manual writing and the roundness of the serif and antlers bring freshness and empathy, the careful configuration of the kerning and the proportions give maximum readability to these fonts.

»Elita« is a 100% geometric font designed on a 3 by 16 grid that makes it very slim. There are no optical tricks employed, it is purely geometric. The extreme narrow font design gives it high black and white contrast. The font is not made to write long copy, but it is perfect if you want to employ that magic between pure geometric and almost impossible to read. Just look at the samples and enjoy!

Newt Juice is a funky hand drawn font comes in both Outline and Fill styles. Put them both together in your favorite application and you can get some really organic looks. Monterey Pop oozes 1960s freedom and optimism, and is based on Tom Wilkes’s poster lettering for the Monterey International Pop Festival in June 1967, the event which heralded the legendary Summer of Love. The fonts include a newly-designed lowercase and a full complement of Latin Extended-A characters. In addition to the normal font, Outline and Thinline versions with matching spacing and kerning are supplied for use separately or overlapped with the regular font for bicolor effects. The Outline font is best for darker lines, and the Thinline font is designed for white and tinted outlines which can tend to halo and appear slightly bolder.

Smeethe manages to look almost out of focus while being slightly degraded and distorted, but has a smoothed outline.

Luscombe is a boisterous and lively display face, recalling the shaded and outlined faced much beloved of 1920s poster and advertising artists, while offering a regularity of outline that those faces often did not achieve. Itís ideal for poster and display work, or for signage with a subtle period feel. Mix the two faces to add emphasis where it's needed.

Limousine JNL takes the basic outline shape of Crestview Six JNL (an actual design from the Art Deco era) and gives it a stylized treatment as a solid black letter display face.

Kapitza's 2009 Ice Flowers font is a derivative of their snowflake font Snow. It is a much bolder interpretation of the theme, with strong black and white contrasts. The graphic style of Ice Flowers is inspired by 1960s folk art and embroidery.

Rufina was as tall and thin as a reed. Elegant but with that distance that well-defined forms seem to impose. Her voice, however, was sweeter, closer, and when she spoke her name, like a slow whisper, one felt like what she had come to say could be read in her image. Rufina's story can only be told through a detour because her origin does not coincide with her birth. Rufina was born on a Sunday afternoon while her father was drawing black letters on a white background, and her mother was trying to join those same letters to form words that could tell a story. But her origin goes much further back, and that is why she is pierced by a story that precedes her, even though it is not her own. Maybe her origin can be traced back to that autumn night in which that tall man with that distant demeanor ran into that woman with that sweet smile and elegant aspect. He looked at her in such a way that he was trapped by that gaze, even though they found no words to say to each other, and they stayed in silence. Somehow, some words leaked into that gaze because since that moment they were never apart again. Later, after they started talking, projects started coming up and then coexistence and arguments, routines and mismatches. But in that chaos of crossed words in their life together, something was stable through the silence of the gazes. In those gazes, the silent words sustained that indescribable love that they didn't even try to understand. And in one of those silences, Rufina appeared, when that man told that woman that he needed a text to try out his new font, and she saw him look at her with that same fascination of the first time, and she started to write something with those forms that he was giving her as a gift. Rufina was as tall and thin as a reed, wrote her mother when Rufina was born.

Free Font Iamblock is a super heavy display font that makes a statement. In the family, you get a monospace and a naturally spaced version of Iamblock. LeopardSkin is an exciting, contemporary display font, incorporating the distinctive markings of one of Africa’s most famous “big cats”. Shady Characters JNL places type against a simulated halftone background to produce a "ribbon" with black and white visual contrast. By typing the left bracket key, you produce a wide space for between the words. A narrower space is on the right bracket key. Limited character set.

Rebnick is a sans serif typeface where in the early design process, the adjacent stems and bars weren’t weld seamlessly and perfectly. You can actually find glitches which were carefully transformed into a custom language in it’s own and later became the coherent generic rule that keeps everything together. In display sizes, the ink traps give the font’s own character, while in small text sizes they create a good legibility and a well-balanced ratio between the black and white spaces.

Frames 1 consists of a series of frames scanned at a low resolution. The result when magnified is a bitmapped image that looks like a black and white mosaic.

The font Speech Bubbles offers a convenient way to integrate text and image. While the font can be used to design comics, it also gives the typographer a tool to make text speak – to give words conversational dynamics and to emphasize visually the sound of the message. The font includes a total of seventy outlines and seventy bubble backgrounds selected from a survey of historic forms. What follows is a discussion of my process researching and developing the font, as well as a few user suggestions. My work on the Speech Bubbles font began with historic research. My first resource was a close friend who is a successful German comic artist. I had previously worked with him to transform his lettering art into an OpenType font. This allowed his publishing house to easily translate cartoons from German to other languages without the need to use another font, like Helvetica rounded. My friend showed me the most exciting, outstanding and graphically appealing speech bubbles from his library. I looked at early strips from Schulz (Peanuts), Bill Waterson (Calvin & Hobes), Hergé (TinTin), Franquin, as well as Walt Disney. The most inspiring was the early Krazy Kat and Ignatz (around 1915) from George Herriman. I also studied 1980’s classics Dave Gibbon’s Watchmen, Frank Miller’s Ronin and Alan Moore and David Lloyd’s V for Vandetta. Contemporary work was also a part of my research—like Liniers from Macanudo and work of Ralf König. With this overview in mind I began to work from scratch. I tried to distill the typical essence of each author’s or era’s speech bubbles style into my font. In the end I limited my work down to the seventy strongest images. An important aspect of the design process was examining each artist’s speech bubble outlines. In some cases they are carefully inked, as in most of the 80’s work. In others, such as with Herriman, they are fast drawn with a rough impetus. The form can be dynamic and round (Schultz) with a variable stroke width, or straight inked with no form contrast (Hergé). Since most outlines also carry the character of the tool that they are made with, I chose to separate the outline from the speech bubble fill-in or background. 
This technical decision offers interesting creative possibilities. For example, the font user can apply a slight offset from fill-in to outline, as it is typical to early comic strips, in which there are often print misalignments. Also, rather than work in the classic white background with black outline, one can work with colors. Many tonal outcomes are possible by contrasting the fill-in and outline color. The Speech Bubbles font offers a dynamic and quick way to flavor information while conveying a message. How is something said? Loudly? With a tint of shyness? Does a rather small message take up a lot of space? The font’s extensive survey of historic comic designs in an assembly that is useful for both pure comic purposes or more complex typographic projects. Use Speech Bubbles to give your message the right impact in your poster, ad or composition.

Woodhaven Initials JNL were designed using an outline cast shadow wood type set against a rectangle with horizontal "engraving" lines to add background texture to the initials. An ampersand is on the corresponding keystroke, and a blank rectangle is on the period key.

In the early 1960s, the Duro Decal Company of Chicago, Illinois added to its line of water-applied decal lettering a retail sign cabinet of die-cut, pressure sensitive vinyl letters and numbers. Four of the six sizes offered for sale were cut from white plastic with a black outline and a secondary gold inline for a tri-color effect. Sign Stickers JNL emulates as closely as possible the look of these nostalgic pieces, complete with the slight shifts in line weight due to hand-cut silk screens and the printing process. Dress Quote is obviously a wordplay - and I did my best to be funny, coming up with that name. I also did my best to do a funny font. I'll let you be the judge of my success - but personally I am satisfied with my performance in both cases! :) The Regular version is a set of steady, yet kind of rugged letters, while the Outline version is ... well, the same kind og rugged letters in an outlined version! :) Multilingual support is included!

Segment A is a powerful display type family with 18 styles inspired by condensed European grotesques of 19th-century, but with clear geometric proportions. Bron Shadline is the semi-outline and lighter variation of the original Bron typeface. The outline adds an extra vibrancy, more contrast and bring a special shading effect out. The Shadline version has also two separate layered fonts to make your own multi-color compositions. Possibilities of editing the font are infinite : even use Bron Black Two Color One to add an extra third layer. These can be used separately to create even more subtle effects. Bron Shadline is packed with an extended character set, supporting Central, Western and Eastern European languages.

This set of initial decorated letters was inspired by a font in use in the beginning of 1500s in Paris. Exactly, we have used the set that Barthélémy Verand employed for the printing of Triumphus translatez de langage Tuscan en François, (from “Triumph” of Petrarque) in the year 1514. Some letters, lacked, have been reconstructed to propose a complete alphabet. It appears that the printer used some letters to replace others, as V, turned over to make a A, or D to make a Q. The original font’s letters were drawn in white on a black background only, but it was tempting to propose a negative version in black on white. It is used as variously as web-site titles, posters and flyers design, publishing texts looking like ancient ones, or greeting cards, all various sorts of presentations, as a very decorative, elegant and luxurious additional font. This font supports strong enlargements remaining very smart and fine. It’s original medieval hight is about one inch equivalent to about four lines of characters. This font may be used with all blackletter fonts, but works particularly well with 1543 Humane Jenson, 1557 Italic and 1742 Civilite, without any anachronism.
