Just like in the city itself where historicity and modernity are intertwined, the elegant script in our font family symbolizes the modern Berlin, and the grotesque inspired by the wood-type poster types of the first third of the 20th century is responsible for the historic component of the city. The idea of this project emerged in the beginning of 2016 when we've met Evgenia Pestova, a calligrapher from Berlin, who shared the contemporary perspective on calligraphy and the city impressions with us. The wood-type grotesque appeared later, after our another colleague had visited Berlin and told us her fascinating story about the things she had seen. The city is full of contrasts—it is very modern and very vintage at the same time. The photographs and the impressions from the trip have also become the basis of our project. That is how we've added a little of old Berlins roughness and inhomogeneity. TT Berlinerins Script contains 998 glyphs, including more than 240 swashes for which we've written a special feature. We've also drawn a large number of ligatures for TT Berlinerins Script and integrated wide support of OpenType features: ordn, frac, case, sups, sinf, numr, dnom, tnum, pnum, calt, liga. Belle Jardin is an Art Deco inspired display family of three typefaces, offered in in-line engraved regular and demi bold forms as well as a solid bold form. It offers upper and lower case solid slab-built forms that create an immediate atmosphere of the streamline era of the thirties and are also at home in post-war revival inspired design work. The letterforms are solidly legible and ideal for cover and poster inspired design work.

This font is a late work of the famous Berlin font artist Martin Wilke. Presented by Linotype AG in 1988, Wilke is a lively font with eccentric, playful forms. Wilke was influenced in part by the letters of the Irish handwriting in the Book of Kells, written in the late 8th century, while the pronounced contrast in strokes goes back to the styles of the 18th century. the font’s uniqueness is particularly emphasized when used in larger point sizes.

The 1938 movie musical "Carefree" starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers featured the song "Change Partners" by Irving Berlin. A copy of the sheet music for this song had the title hand lettered in a wonderful tri-line design that has been recreated in the digital typeface Fancy Dancing JNL.

Lutz Baar was born in Berlin, now living in Gothenburg, Sweden. He is an art director at his own advertising and Web design studio Miraculus. This typeface family was inspired by a set of fonts, designed in the Garamond style, used for an edition of Remarques critiques sur les œuvres d’Horace by “D.A.E.P.”, published in Paris in 1689 by two different booksellers: Deny Thierry and Claude Barbin. Dueblo is a font family in serif, sans serif and semi serif with variability in weight and serifs. It's a classical antiqua with a sans serif basis, a semi serif version, two decor styles for headlines and initials and the italics in sans and in serif. The small caps, alternates as well as other useful optional and contextual open type features are included in the fonts. It has been in development since 2012 and in use for several projects and publications since 2015. It was worked on until 2020, the cyrillic and greek letters were added, and it was built up in a new and modern way. Now it's really ready for building words and paragraphs.

This font was originally designed side by side with my first attempt at a semi serif typeface in 1997. The design made it through to full development only a couple years ago when our studio decided to complete the regular weight for a local project here in Bangkok. The face is a traditional serif with narrow stem (somewhat like sans serif) and industrial stroke. A good mix of Bangkok character where you can find Wat (old buddhist temple) next to futuristic high rise. This font was shown in Klingspor-Museum Offenbach, Germany, at a Typographic & Type Design exhibition Schrift in Form 3-26 September 2008.

Herold is a bold Art Nouveau advertising face released by H. Berthold, Berlin, Germany in 1901. It is also seen under the name “Herold Reklame.” The design is attributed to Hermann Hoffmann by the Klingspor Museum. A herold (‘herald’ in English, ‘heraldus’ in Latin) is one who delivers proclamations and announcements. Medieval heralds are often pictured with a horn with which to get everyone’s attention prior to performing his function. His only PA system was his own voice. Left and right glyphs of a herald with horn may be found at positions 137 and 172. Herold is quite compact with a high x-height, just right for making -- what else? -- announcements.
