Brophy Script is a bold connecting brush alphabet. This brush script typeface was designed in 1953 by the American type designer Harold Broderson. Broderson worked for ATF (the American Type Founders), who were the original publishers of this design. Brophy Script is a version with more handwritten letters than to its other version called Body. This a brush script face that mimics the show card style of lettering, which was very popular throughout the United States during the first half of the 20th Century. The letters appear as if they were drawn quickly and spontaneously with a wide, flat lettering brush. The lowercase letters connect to each other, cursive script style. Brophy Script is the perfect display face to provoke a nostalgic feeling for the 1950s. Anything having to do with apple pie, home cooking, or last minute sales would look great in this face. You could outfit a whole supermarket signage system in a snap with Brophy Script.

With reference to the Type Heritage Project, this font (designer unknown) was cut by Henry Brehmer of New York for the Dickinson Type Foundary of Boston in c1879 and had the original trade name of Renaissant. John F. Cumming later cut a light-face derivative called “Artistic.” A history of the un-patented face can be found at the Type Heritage Project website. Ressonant has a full character set as well as ligatures, superiors, inferiors, numerators, denominators, old style figures, and auto-fractions. There are also alternate caps for N and M as in the original, and, unlike the original, comes in four weights. This font is a documented revival of a 19th-century typeface. Mariam is a traditional-style Arabic headline face designed by the famous Arabic type designer Ismet Chanbour, who also designed Al Harf Al Jadid - another highly successful typeface from Linotype. Mariam is characterised by certain design features which contribute to its stylistically lively, yet graceful appearance: downward-pointing tails combining with the swinging finial strokes of certain characters, and the various cut-away" effects. This headline face successfully offers a wide range of applications, from very large, bold poster-size work to use at 18 point for emphasis in text work. Available as in the OpenType format, Miriam incorporates the Arabic codepage (CP 1256), and supports Arabic and Persian. It also includes both tabular Arabic and Persian numerals, as well as Latin figures and complete punctuation."

Latvian designer and educator Gustav Grinbergs created Stencil Moonlight as an attempt to slightly lighten up the stencil type scene. Intended as a lively, semi-formal face, its shapes are smooth and compact. It leaves a very heavy feeling on the page, as its letters display a very fat bold design. Stencil Moonlight is available is two separate font styles, Regular and Small Caps. When used together, the Stencil Moonlight family can create the perfect combination for your next display need. Stencil Moonlight works best in larger sizes, where it is clear that its forms stem from an experiment with stencil design. Grinbergs recommends the face for application in package design, advertising, poster design, and perhaps even for the subtitling of foreign films!

Lotus is a traditional-style Arabic text face derived from foundry types cut earlier in the 20th Century, based on the calligraphic models in the Ottoman Naskh style (the traditional style of Arabic script for use in printing). Its graceful finials and elegant logotypes contribute to the classic look of the face making it particularly suitable for serious book and journal work. The conversion of the PostScript versions of these fonts to OpenType format has taken full advantage of the latest digital technology, allowing accurate positioning of diacriticals and kerning refinements. The Lotus typeface is available in two weights: Lotus Light and Lotus Bold. These two fonts incorporate the Arabic codepage (CP 1256), and support Arabic and Persian. They also include both tabular Arabic and Persian numerals.

Linotype Gotharda is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. This display font started as an experiment of the Croatian-German designer Milo Dominik Ivir. He wanted to design a font with characteristics of both sans serif and Gothic faces. From the Gothic he took the heavy strokes, the narrow letters, the exaggerated overmatter and the high x-height. The modern standard forms of the letters s, a, x and z, the clear capitals and the lack of serifs are the characteristics taken from sans serif faces. The result is a font with a constructed, old German feel. Linotype Gotharda is intended exclusivley for headlines in large point sizes.
