It's here, it's new and it's bamboo. Not to be mistaken for the lush magic of a read tropical rain forest, Tiki evokes more of a feeling of a tacky Hawaiian party or your weird friend's father's basement "Tiki" bar, with bamboo furniture , photos of Tahitian beauties, polyester grass mats and bobble head Hula dolls. Tiki comes as a family of two fonts, the basic outlined version and a solid version, which may be used separately or combined to produce multi-colored effects.

BMF Planets Pi is part of the BMF Symbols Collection, a gorgeous, versatile and highly original family of symbols (drawings, icons, pictograms). Planets Pi is a playful visualisation of outer space and its visitors, such as astronauts, rockets and Martians. Here's a deluxe comic book dialogue font with a vintage feel! Nerves of Steel BB comes with Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic. Contextual Alternates and Auto-ligatures enable six versions of every letter, and three versions of each number, the exclamation point and question mark. An interpretation of the lettering of contemporary illustrator Amanda Duffy. Each font contains four glyphs for each character (including all numbers, punctuation, and symbols), which OpenType coding sets in “random” order for a subtle, natural effect. Use a curved path to further accentuate the bounced quality of the letters. Try out different combinations of glyphs by inserting the cursor in front of your headline and hitting the space bar repeatedly: each time,the text will be represented by a different sequence of glyphs.

Rebnick is a sans serif typeface where in the early design process, the adjacent stems and bars weren’t weld seamlessly and perfectly. You can actually find glitches which were carefully transformed into a custom language in it’s own and later became the coherent generic rule that keeps everything together. In display sizes, the ink traps give the font’s own character, while in small text sizes they create a good legibility and a well-balanced ratio between the black and white spaces.

Type Tiles JNL is based on a ‘completed’ version of ‘Alpha-Blox’ by American Type Founders, circa 1944. The capitals, lower case and numerals shown in the sample sheet put out by ATF depicted type made with five-high blocks comprised of modular units spaced two points apart. These units could be combined in varying ways to create custom type of varying heights and widths and was available for purchase in both linear (multi-line) and reverse (white on black) formats. Using the 'reverse' model shown on the sample sheet, all of the characters were re-created digitally, and missing punctuation, foreign characters and other glyphs found in a basic computer font were drawn and added. The 'J' and 'T' in the type sample had truncations, so a more complete character was created for each of those letters. For those wanting an unbroken string of words or blank end caps, there is a double column space on the vertical bar key. A single column space is located on the broken bar key for shorter end caps. Nineteen43 is an elegant typeface with inspiration from the timeless classic "Didot" the style often associated with fashion. Giving our own take on the style, making the hairline stokes and thin as possible to maximise the contrast to the bolder strokes making it a perfect for display use. Nineteen43 has its own unique quirks with striking, bold, abrupt thicker vertical strokes. Elegant smooth serifs and bars not always meeting up with stems like you would expect. The extremely narrow Robotik was created by the British typeface designer David Quai and appeared with ITC in 1989. The figures are robust and strong and form tightly packed, bar-like lines. The characters' slim, narrow and angular forms suggest mechanical exactness and cool distance. The similarity of the forms are also reminiscent of machinery and the letters form chains of words. The form principle shows parallels with the constructivism of Moscow after the First World War. Robotik is best used for headlines in large point sizes.

Friendly, warm and quirky, yet with a certain elegance, Pleuf Pro is a hand-drawn rounded serif family with extensive language support and a bunch of OpenType features. Great for projects which need a handcrafted, homemade, friendly, warm, personal vibe; it's individualistic without being overly eccentric, and quirky without being illegible. Designed by Alex Rütten, Ginkgo is a stylish text typeface. It works well for setting extended passages of text at small sizes thanks to its open counters, generous character widths, and clear and unique letterforms. On top of that, the handling of details such as in the serifs, cross bars, and terminals are wonderful to appreciate when used at large point sizes as well. Gingko received a Certificate of Excellence in Type Design at the Type Directors Club of New York TDC2 competition in 2009.

The Brunette font was created with the sole purpose to serve companies that want to express character, emotion, and personal touch through their logotypes (think Bakeries, Juice Bars, Cafes, Jewelry stores, etc.) Brunette was made entirely from scratch (handwritten letters on paper), which were then vectorized and tweaked to gain consistency. The charm of the font is in its irregularity and resemblance to real handwriting. Brunette is perfect for businesses that want to convey a casual and organic image while making their products more human and approachable.

The birth of the monospaced types dates back to the past. There was a need for the creation of typesets for typewriters. The difficulty was to align the different glyphs in the same width. This led to particular problems with letters like “M” and “l”; the former seemed to be squeezed into the same width of all letters and the second one appeared way too streched. Despite – or perhaps because of – the impression of the typewriter is still popular with Graphic Designers. Nowadays there are even monospaced versions of primarily proportional types; for example the the Sans Mono designed by Lucas de Groot or the DIN Mono. Then again, why not the other way round?! In the first half of the Nineties, Erik Spiekermann developed a proportional type named ITC Officina based on the Letter Gothic. According to a survey on the 100 best fonts of all time conducted by FontShop, ITC Officina is in an eighth place, far ahead of its forerunner. This was the reason for me to create a wider design with a Serif and a Sans Serif based on the queen of all monospaced types – the Courier.
