Unzial typefaces consist of letter forms of the Capitalis Monumentalis and the majescule cursive. The origins of Unizial faces date back to the 5th century. The Neue Hammer Unziale was developed from the Hammer typeface, which was designed by Victor Hammer in 1921, cut by A. Schuricht and appeared with the font foundry Klingspor in 1923. In 1953, American Unizial was expanded to include some new figures, also designed by Hammer, and was rereleased by Klingspor with the name Neue Hammer Unziale. The forms are based on old scripts in books of antiquity and the early Middle Ages and the font is a new variation of a classic. Neue Hammer Unziale has been a favorite for certificates and diplomas and is recommended for headlines and shorter texts in a point size of 12 or larger.

DF Pigtail is the result of a curious marriage of the 'free'-form of writing with the fixed (mono) space for each character of the typewriter typeface. In the early sixties of the last century, typewriter typography became popular as a Fluxus vocabulary. The Fluxus art movement (in fact a Dada like follow up) which encouraged a do it yourself aesthetic, and valued simplicity over complexity and anti commercialism over the conventional market-driven approach. I was educated in the mid seventies when this form of typography was still very popular and was even applied in corporate design. This particular letter has been used by my teacher Jan Begeer to compose his design assignments. Recently I rediscovered this type and was struck by its pigtail similarity and drew it my way.

Jet is an assertive italic sans that anticipates the return of the simpler, optimistic times when progress was considered positive and forward seemed to be the only way to go. It may have felt right at home in the mid-1970s, the time of Sc-Fi, synthetics and disco, yet it unmistakably belongs to the present. Its dynamic sturdy forms and angular tapering of some horizontal forms convey movement and edgy impatience for change, with a few re-imagined details, like the reversed slant on top of the lowercase t and the atypical round counter of the lowercase a, showing a new hope for the bygone optimism. Meet Haggis! Inspired by the Insular Half-Uncial and Uncial typefaces that have long been associated with Scotland, Ireland, and their Celtic cousins, Haggis is an unusual creature. Unlike traditional Uncials, he's monoline, rounded, sausagey, and distinctly lighthearted! Chorus is a collective effort to sing in harmony. Similarly, each letter is designed to reflect harmony when used together to form a letter, sentence or paragraph. Letters like B, D, P and R have curved stroke (instead of straight line) while joining vertical stem. Letter K, k, and R have similar disjoint point in middle and unique plus stylish curve at foot. Letter C and G has distinct horizontal cut at top as compared to other letters in typeface e.g. S. Letter like b, h, m, n, and p have consistent stroke joint style with vertical stem. A girl’s handwriting written on the iPad Writing changes – throughout history over centuries, but also from generation to generation. Each new generation of students learns to write the basic forms of the letters a little differently than their predecessors. The role model is also changing. The cursive handwriting taught in school is getting closer and closer to printed type. The children no longer learn the forms of cursive handwriting required for connected writing, but first the “block letters”, only later should they develop their own individual handwriting from this, which many of them no longer do. And the writing tool is also changing. Of course, script looks different when children no longer learn to write on paper with a fountain pen, but on a tablet computer with the “pencil”. The writing experience is completely different, and the “material properties” are different too. There is practically no writing resistance that would make it difficult to move against the direction of writing. "Die Lara" was created based on the template by Lara Mörwald from the winter of 2023. The font version "Black" corresponds to the handwritten original, all thinner variants up to the wafer-thin "Hairline" are derived from it. In the variable font, the intermediate forms can be selected steplessly. In order to preserve the handwritten character of the font, "Die Lara" contains several alternates to most letters and numerals, so that different character forms alternate in the typeface. If the "ligatures" function is activated in the app (which is the default in most programs), these alternates appear automatically as you type. There is also an alternative "swashed" variant of some letters. So you can set somewhat livelier accents at the beginning or end of a word. "Die Lara" also contains fractions and tabular figures.

German type designer Manfred Klein created this blackletter FontFont in 1991. The font is ideally suited for film and tv, poster and billboards as well as software and gaming. Created by Jovica Veljović, the Agmena typeface family is a fine melding of digital technology and beautifully crafted Renaissance fonts. This typeface makes skillful use of proportion, form and spacing rather in the way that a practiced storyteller varies the timbre of his voice and deftly inserts longer pauses to bring his tale alive.

Marcu San is part of the Take Type Library, which features the winners of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contest. German type designer Gerd Wippich created this script FontFont in 1996. The family has 7 weights, ranging from Regular to Bold (including italics) and is ideally suited for festive occasions and editorial and publishing. Clairveaux is based on samples of an ornate 12th century calligraphic style. It has some interesting features, including small caps which combine some characteristics of both traditional upper and lower cae character forms. It's ornate enough to look decorative, but not overwhelmingly complex, and looks remarkably attractive when used for titles in a large size.

Maple Street is a great looking traditional serif font composed by the Okaycat design team, Luke Turvey & Natsuko Hayashida, in 2014. Bold didone forms with structural seriffed detail combine at Maple Street to offer a cozy familiar style, without looking dated. This nicely balanced serif is designed to look outstanding for display or printed publication.

"Murat Grotesque" is a sans serif font inspired by the "Impact" character. The corners were softened and many glyph forms were completely changed. Reminicent of mid-19th century antique type and Victorian cast-iron signage, Coldharbour Gothic lovingly preserves all the eroded and rusted textures in digital form. Characters have been selected to have cleaner and rougher counterparts - by flipping between cases, the user can customise the result and achieve the degree of decay or preservation they desire.

An ad in the May 27, 1939 issue of "Motion Picture Herald" for the film "Young Mr. Lincoln" featured the film's title hand lettered in a squared, bold pen lettering with rounded terminals along with an incised 'engraving' line. This formed the basis for Political Trend JNL, which available in both regular and oblique versions.

Gluy is geometric humanist hybrid. It blends the two categories into one design. Mixing geometric rational shapes with a touch of organic calligraphic forms. When I created my first website, I loved using vintage sewing pattern illustrations in my designs. Thinking back on it, I wanted to create a dingbat inspired by those images and Sewing Patterns is the result. The font features ladies-fashions in silhouette form for uppercase and lowercase letters and childrens- styles for the numbers.

Based on a Roman character set, Gideon is a traditional typeface with classic forms. Perfect for uses from invitations, greeting cards and menus, to display advertising. The upper case letters have a tradition calligraphic feel that adds warmth and sophistication to text while the legibility allows for larger blocks of copy to be easily read.

Fong Shay Noon JNL is a non-traditional approach to an Oriental-styled font as there are some letter forms with curves and others with straight lines. The name derives from a Chinese restaurant in North Miami Beach, Florida during the 1960s, which in turn took its name from a play on a Yiddish phrase.

Pen Nouveau JNL is a perfect example of the fluid, free-form pen lettering popularized during the Art Nouveau era of the early 1900s. The type face was modeled from the lettering on the cover of a piece of sheet music from 1911 entitled "If You Talk in Your Sleep, Don't Mention My Name".

Moore 003 was inspired by Henryk Tomaszewski's poster lettering for the Moore Exibition (Warsaw, Poland 1959). The headline "Moore" is composed of paper collage. The lettering, in Tomaszewski's vision, contrasts in ways that recall the contrast of Moore's sculptures. It was my intention to continue this research using lettering in the form of a typeface.
