The orthography was invented in 1952 by a Sufi Sheikh, named Hussein Sheikh Ahmed Kaddare. A phonetically robust writing system, the technical commissions that appraised the Kaddare alphabet concurred that it was the most accurate indigenous script and orthography for transcribing the Somali language. Kaddare uses both upper and lower case letters, with the lower case represented in cursive.

Instant Protest is a font I made with a broken satay skewer and Chinese ink. Yes, like so many of my fonts, but these particular tools are my favourites! It is a slightly cursive, yet very legible font. It comes with serious language support (Greek, Vietnamese, etc) and some cool contextual alternates that cycle as you type.

Cataneo was designed at Bitstream by Richard Lipton and Jacqueline Sakwa and was initially released in 1993. Otto Weisert was a German type founder who ran his own foundry in Stuttgart during the early years of the 20th Century. In 1902, he created Kalligraphia, a cursive Art Nouveau display script face. Kalligraphia has a unique stroke contrast model; the tops and bottoms of its letterforms are thicker than the verticals on its sides.
