Tusker Grotesk is a headline typeface designed for robust and high-impact use. The year 2022 went and 2023 came. I can honestly say that last year was a horrible year and I am happy it ended a couple of days ago. The first week after New Year’s Eve always fills my head with the U2 song ‘New Year’s Day’ - so I named this font after a line from the lyrics. I also happened to watch a fantastic movie called ‘Im Westen Nights Neues’, directed by Edward Berger, but based on a book by Erich Maria Remarque, which, in English, was published as ‘All Quiet On The Western Front’. So there you have it: naming a font in 2 easy steps! ;-) All Is Quiet is a lovely brush font, which I created using my father in law’s Chinese pencil and ink. I can suggest some uses here, but I am convinced you can come up with that yourself.

Balgin brings back the nostalgic era of 90's. The 90’s were a magical time – a time of the Docs, Game Boys, and Cartoon. As everything that was once old is new again, the 90’s are making a come back. The basic of typeface are from geometric/basic shapes (Triangle, Square, Circle) form. Some character in Display font are modified, like 'R'K' stroke are more dynamic. and the tail of 'g' are more generic. A shape-shaky script font that reacts to audio! Thanks to the variable font technology, fonts today can be variable be it weight, width or any other parameters that are defined by values such as shape! Even better: in html, with a bit of css (and in this case, javascript as well) it is possible to animate them between these values. This gave me the idea to create something really fun which is a quirky, informal handwritten font that can react to sound. The html file along with css and javascript is taken from codepen.io and I was using and tweaking it to this specific project. Transatlantic Cruise is an elegant outline script, would look best on Menu headlines, Invitations, Logos and Postcards (especially sent from cruise ships! :) It contains basic latin western and central european language extensions and accents.

Wood Factory is a western styled typeface created by Kustomtype. Wood Factory is an old Wood Type favorite. It was designed specifically for display, headlines and titles where a wanted poster look is desired.

Cornfield JNL was inspired by lettering found on a 1950s box of popcorn. The unusual character shapes add a nostalgic, folksy charm from the Heartland or a slightly Western feel to projects reflecting simpler times.

Lost Hills JNL is a split-serif Western font based on Jeff Levine's Brogado JNL. Named for an actual location in California, this font has all the basic characteristics of a traditional Old West design.

With the Josef K *, Julia Sysmäläinen continues her artistic debate on Franz Kafka’s writing style. This time the designer of FF Mister K is not drawn to Kafka’s literary works created at night but to those the writer produced at daytime as a high-ranking, confident bureaucrat – Dr Franz Kafka. The typefaces Josef K “Paneuropean” and “Strong European” echoe Kafka’s prestigious status at the Workmen’s Accident Insurance Institute of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Their ductus, originating from a broad-nibbed ink pen combines a clear, self-confident stroke with the calligraphic features so typical for Franz Kafka’s handwriting. While both typefaces are more straightforward and bolder than the wonderfully erratic fonts of the FF Mister K family Josef K Paneuropean is best characterized as a semibold handwriting textface. It combines perfectly not only with Josef K Paneuropean but also with all the FF Mister K textfaces. Lydia (Lydian: ‎𐤮𐤱𐤠𐤭𐤣𐤠, Śfarda; Aramaic: Lydia; Greek: Λυδία, Lȳdíā; Turkish: Lidya) was an Iron Age kingdom of western Asia Minor located generally east of ancient Ionia in the modern western Turkish provinces of Uşak, Manisa and inland Izmir. The ethnic group inhabiting this kingdom are known as the Lydians, and their language, known as Lydian, was a member of the Anatolian branch of the Indo-European language family. The capital of Lydia was Sardis. The Kingdom of Lydia existed from about 1200 BC to 546 BC. At its greatest extent, during the 7th century BC, it covered all of western Anatolia. In 546 BC, it became a province of the Achaemenid Persian Empire, known as the satrapy of Lydia or Sparda in Old Persian. In 133 BC, it became part of the Roman province of Asia. Lydian coins, made of silver, are among the oldest coins in existence, dated to around the 7th century BC.
