“Designers can’t help but be inspired by the things that surround them,” says Massif’s designer Steve Matteson. An avid mountain climber, Matteson found his inspiration for his text face family in the dramatic granite formations of North America’s Sierra Nevada Mountains. Most of Matteson’s type designs are custom projects designed with an end use or customer in mind. Massif, which had no customer or specific purpose, was probably his most personal typeface to date. “My goal was to embody, in Massif’s two-dimensional letterforms, the angular tension and smooth curvature characteristic of the rugged terrain of Yosemite National Park’s Half Dome, which was formed by eons of glacial and tectonic activity,” Matteson explains. The typeface’s striking design echoes the faults and fissures that define a massif formation, resulting in a rich texture when used for body text and revealing distinctive shapes and proportions at display sizes. The Massif family comes in six weights, from Light to ExtraBold, each with an italic companion. The OpenType Pro suite contains small caps, ligatures and old style figures, and offers a small set of decorative ornaments. Pro fonts also include an extended character set supporting most Central European and many Eastern European languages.

Havel is an updated interpretation of a Czech type design from the 1930s. It is powerful and very condensed. At a quick glance you might find kinship with other condensed typefaces of the same period, like Spire (Sol Hess, 1937), Onyx (Gerry Powell for ATF, 1937) or Quirinus Bold (Alessandro Butti, 1939). But Havel has its very own look, rooted in the rapidly disappearing "Eastern European Type", a typographical tradition where poster and packaging design were the highlights. Torbjörn Olsson has revived this classical Czech beauty, and the Open Type version, Havel Pro, can also be used for Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian.

Hernández Bros, is a typeface designed by Daniel and Eli Hernández. Born in the year 2021, in the midst of the Covid pandemic, from a collaborative spirit where everything called them to work together as family, in order to obtain better results in such trying times. The Hernández siblings, started a ping pong of drawings based on Bulfinch found in the 1912 ATF catalogue. Cadmus Pro is the newly remastered and greatly expanded version of a Jim Rimmer design based on a type originally done by hand lettering artist Robert Foster. Foster’s type, named Pericles, was published by ATF in the 1930s, and used in lettering magazines and advertising headings. The design is based closely on early inscriptional Greek. Isaac Newton, father of the theory of gravity, used several forms of handwriting in his life, in numerous texts about numerous scientific subjects. Here, we propose a handwritten font, using a particularly legible script form, coming from texts written in 1672, the year he presented a new reflecting telescope to the Royal Society. It is a Pro font containing Western, Eastern, Central and Northern European, Icelandic, Baltic, and Turkish diacritics. The alternates and ligatures allow the font to look as closely as possible to the real thing. The features allow OTF software to vary the characters of a word automatically, with no more work than selecting contextual alternates and standard ligatures.

Superba Pro is a condensed Egyptian font family with short ascenders and descenders. The dots on the lowercase ‘i’ and the German umlaut-vowels are square. Haas Type Foundry created the original Superba in 1928-1930. Steve Jackaman (ITF) designed and produced a digital version of the bold weight in 1992. In 2017, Jackaman completely redrew the bold weight, added an accompanying wide weight, and expanded the glyph set to support Central and Eastern European languages.
