Vingo is an understated, elegant, sans serif face. This font is among the first in a series of alphabets I am creating that are dignified and sophisticated. I wish these fonts had been available when I was designing wine labels. These fonts are rooted in "old world" tradition, but are more utilitarian. Some of the funky aspects are downplayed, some are enhanced and updated. Any job that requires understated sophistication is perfect for this face. The name comes from the French for wine, "Vin", and "Go" from gothic-wine gothic or Vingo.

Linotype Maral is based on an historic Armenian typeface which was originally designed by Henrik Mnatsakanyan. Hrant Papazian has revieved and digitized this four weight type family . Armenian keyboard drivers for Mac OS 9 (and under) as well as for Windows are included when any of the Linotype Maral fonts are purchased. These drivers must be installed before the fonts may be used properly. Linotype Maral will not function properly under Mac OS X, unless you are using the OpenType-format version, which does not work under OS 9! MVB Solano Gothic Bold was originally designed as a display face for the City of Albany, California (located on the San Francisco Bay facing the Golden Gate Bridge and bordering Berkeley). Named for the City’s main street, the typeface needed to work on signage in proximity to early 20th Century buildings, and in contemporary settings. Rather than creating a neutered design to cover all bases, Mark van Bronkhorst chose to develop a simple, strong, condensed face that would offer flexibility of style by providing both retro and more contemporary forms. Solano Gothic has since been expanded to a family offering five weights from Light to Bold. The basic fonts provide upper- and lowercase forms, with figures designed to harmonize within upper- and lowercase settings (the standard figures are not full cap height). The same figures are provided with Small Caps, and align to small cap height. For all-cap settings requiring figures and monetary symbols of full-cap height, there are the “Cap” fonts. An alternate tabular “1” is provided in all fonts so that both fitted and tabular settings of figures are possible (access to alternate characters subject to system or application support).

Strait passages second part… I tried in this fifth (that's why she took the name "Pentathlon Pro”) consecutive font family to give her a character style with again a strait way of writing. Walking on the same considerations as the previous series (Khamai, Aeolus, Corset & Artios) I tried to give some sense of diversity for the strait passages of character: those fourteen style are the result. And in this family, the “Bold” with "Inlier" and “Bold Italic” with "Inlier Italic” engage in the same way as did the “Layered font families” in the previous series. Also I added a design statement for the twelve zodiac signs, only presented in the Bold, Inlier, Bold Italic and Inlier Italic style. This series is composed of fourteen styles with 628 glyphs each, with true italics and supports Latin, Greek and Cyrillic.

All that remains from this once so proud and glorious antiqua are steel skeletons. Destroyed. Distorted. Ruins. The main focus and usage of LamentaX are headlines, posters for event graphics and music/media/game packaging. The Pergamon series is a creation of Alfons Schneider (1890–1946) and was issued by the foundry of Ludwig Wagner in Leipzig in 1937/1940, though the website of the Klingspor-Museum says that several of the faces were probably produced after the death of Schneider. This digital version is extended with the necessary OT characters and signs, while also the “символы кириллицы” are added. Also, in addition to the members of the family designed by Schneider, regular, italic, bold and bold italic extended versions were produced. The specimens of Ludwig Wagner stated emphatically: “In allen Graden werden beide K K geliefert”, so these two forms are in all the faces, while the two condensed members also have k k, as the specimens said that this alternative character was also in these two faces.

The Vtg Stencil fonts from astype are based on real world stencils from several countries. The Italian stencils that I chose as a model for this font are roughly based on classic French stencil letters. Please compare the figures (numbers) with their French counterparts. However, the Italian stencils are made with a different production technique. The design of the letters is clearly not punch-cut into the plates, maybe they are drilled, milled or etched. Details such as the serifs look bold and clumsy, and when using the stencils as they are meant, with viscous sign paint, smaller details easily fade away. So I took my freedom to design a font close to the original design but adding several typographic tweaks to let it shine, hoping to get closer to the intended design idea of these Italian stencils.
