Directa Serif is a text type family designed to save space with the maximum readability. Because of its general forms and proportions (a little bit condensed, big x-height, low contrast) it can be used in smaller sizes than usual for body text. “Feverish” was a font borne out of perceived need in the marketplace. Hallmark retired font designer and master letter designer Myron McVay first approached Bill LaFever to collaborate on a project to design a semiformal calligraphic script that could be set as text copy with a large variety of swash and alternative characters and small caps. Bill penned the initial forms and Myron did the digital conversions and initial technical work. After Myron passed away, Terry Lee, a protégé of Myron’s at Hallmark, also retired, took over and the project was completed. “Feverish” is a semi-formal italic which can be used in a wide variety of commercial and advertising applications. The font family is large which can accommodate a variety of unique applications.

Mark van Bronkhorst designed MVB Celestia Antiqua at a time when font choice was limited. Design was characterized by overuse of the few fonts that came with laser printers. A rustic typeface, recalling the roughness and irregularity of pre-digital printing, was a response to the cold crispness of DTP. MVB Celestia Antiqua holds its own among a large group of other “weathered” serif fonts, in part due to the size of the family: three weights, small caps, italics, and two titling styles. But it's also successful because it's simply drawn well, the contours only as rough as they need to be, enabling text at any size, large or small.

Ten Mincho is a Japanese typeface design from Adobe Originals, designed by Ryoko Nishizuka and useful for a broad range of settings, such as advertising copy, book titles, and headings. As a traditional Mincho-style design the strokes are slightly heavy and rounded, and exhibit smaller counter spaces. Ten Mincho also features a full set of Latin glyphs, collectively known as Ten Oldstyle and designed by Robert Slimbach. This relatively feature-rich Latin subset includes OpenType features such as small caps and old-style figures.
