Abstract is a contemporary and eclectic serif typeface inspired by today's life and created in times of pandemic. This family includes a true italic variant —that has its own personality— alternates, lining and old style figures, numerators and denominators & Cyrillic support.

Rifton is a heavy display typeface designed for use in large sizes. It is available as a regular and italic font or as one Variable Font with an italic axis. Installing the Variable Font offers users additional benefits because, in addition to the pre-defined “upright” and “italic” instances, the interpolations between them can be used. That allows you to have slanted text – but just a little less slanted than in the italic. Rifton is an all-caps design, but the letters mapped to the lowercase keyboard do not always have the same forms as the uppercase. That is most visible when it comes to the “s”, which takes a Star-Wars-style form (think of the Star Wars logo). The Rifton fonts also include OpenType features like ligatures – including some exciting discretionary ligatures – and super-wide alternate glyphs for several letters, including “B”, “E”, “F”, “H”, “L”, “N”, “P”, “R”, “T” and “Z”. Mark van Bronkhorst designed MVB Celestia Antiqua at a time when font choice was limited. Design was characterized by overuse of the few fonts that came with laser printers. A rustic typeface, recalling the roughness and irregularity of pre-digital printing, was a response to the cold crispness of DTP. MVB Celestia Antiqua holds its own among a large group of other “weathered” serif fonts, in part due to the size of the family: three weights, small caps, italics, and two titling styles. But it's also successful because it's simply drawn well, the contours only as rough as they need to be, enabling text at any size, large or small.

Adriane Text was designed between 2006 and 2007 with additional production completed by Silas Dilworth for this 2008 release [v1.002]. Focusing on text composition and unique typographic characteristics, details within the characters provide both personality and excellent legibility at small sizes. With a medium contrast, a predominantly vertical axis, and a generous x-height, it can be classified as a transitional typeface. This package of advanced OpenType fonts consists of the style-linked quartet of Regular and Bold weights accompanied by corresponding Italics, each of which include small caps and full support for Extended Latin character sets - now including Central European diacritics. Old style and lining figures are provided in both proportional and tabular spacing, and an extensive set of ligatures, ornaments, dingbats, and alternate ampersands are available across the family. The Italics possess a fluidity that contrasts with the staid posture of the Roman styles. The degree of inclination for the uppercase and lowercase characters are slightly different, offering an enhanced visual rhythm in the text settings.

Imagine being printer in the early nineteenth century, your stock isn’t the finest, your lead characters are worn out: Voilá Kandidat Rough. But wait, Kandidat isn’t the usual scan-an-old-book,-put-the-glyphs-in-a-font-and-you’re-done-font. Kandidat Rough has a variety of whopping 14 alternates for most characters. Our algorithm changes the letters automatically. All you have to do is turn on Contextual Alternates in your layout app. The algorithm is the best we’ve seen so far, and it’s so good that even same words appear in different forms. And should by coincidence words have the same glyphs, just assign a different Style Set to the first letter, and all other letters in the word will change as well (well, it depends a bit on your software). The mechanism isn’t perfect and maybe we stretched OpenType capabilities a bit over the top, but we yet haven’t seen any better routine for switching letters on the fly. Is it worth to mention that Kandidat Rough not only speaks English, but also German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Croatian, Turkish and most likely some other languages? Maybe. A sturdy, friendly, round, warm friend from the beginning of the nineteenth century. A bit dark, maybe. You will like it. Kandidat has the aforementioned type set plus complete Baltics, Eastern Europe and Cyrillic. Plus a couple of gimmicks like fleurons, stars, circled numbers, arrows, and, and, and… Kandidat Regular additionally has small caps for Latin based scripts (not Cyrillic). The spick and span Kandidat font set also consists of Regular, Italic and Bold cuts. The bold cut is on the very bold side and can nicely be used for headings, whereas Italic is a great companion for Regular.
