Steel Grrrder is a robust, industrial-style stencil typeface family consisting of six weights, from light to black, with corresponding italics. Suitable for all kinds of display purposes including posters, film titles, book covers, magazines, advertising, logos, packaging, signage and games design, Steel Grrrder is especially useful where the message needs some serious geometric bite behind it. Steel Grrrder is best categorised as a constructivist sans family. The character shapes are sharp, angular and slightly condensed - it’s a rigid, no-frills, no-curves, mega-metallic design. Legible? Not really. Readable? I think not. In your faceable? Absolutely! This is a tough display typeface, designed to work in the most demanding typographic situations. It won’t buckle under pressure or wilt when the heat’s turned up. Because Contenu is designed for text use, it is spaced for body copy in the 9-12 point range. That is far too much spacing for heads, subheads, and the like. So I made the display version of Contenu Book to use for headers. In the process of tightening the spacing at the very large sizes, I also made some minor modifications to the glyph shapes to make this version a little more elegant. Contenu Opentype has two Opentype families for print design. Contenu Book has five fonts: Regular, Italic, Bold, Bold Italic, and Display. Contenu has Medium, Medium Italic, Black, and Black Italic. The name is French for content and this is what the family is designed for: text, body copy, and book layout. If it has a style, it is a modern take on oldstyle serif font using Jenson as a mask. There are no plans for display versions of the bolder weights or the italics. If you want them, use Contenu Medium, Book Bold, Contenu Black, or any of the four italics and tighten the tracking.

Langston is an original design by Alex Kaczun. It’s part of a series of lettering experiments, manipulating body proportions, characteristic elements and spacing to achieve some dramatic visual effects. It is hard to characterize if Langston is an outline or inline font. The outline has the same thickness and proportions as the stems. And the inter-letter spacing is also visually similar. This creates a dynamic and interesting visual harmony throughout. Furthermore, certain design elements like the accents and punctuation symbols, break with the outline treatment, and morph into an interesting play between inline and outline. The overall effect is stunning and mesmerizing. Langston is a display font not intended for text use. It was designed specifically for display headlines, logotype, branding and similar applications.This attractive display comes in roman with lower case and lining figures.The font is also available with true small capitals and old style figures. A special version was created with decorative initial capitals to further enhance the possibilities. Homeward Bound is a fat, grungy slab serif font - all handmade and inspired by a well known 1934 font. Together with sidekick Homeward Bound II, this baby will lighten up your day, bring you your newspaper and do your dishes to boot. Well, that may not be an accurate description of Homeward Bound’s abilities, but I am sure it will make your work stand out, giving it that ‘handmade eroded vintage’ look.

I am not one for prophecies of impending disaster and all that, don’t worry! I just liked the name and it seems to suit this handmade font quite well. Symbolic Prophecy was made with a broken bamboo satay skewer and Chinese ink. I quite like using broken satay skewers, as they give a fantastic ‘random’ effect. Use Symbolic Prophecy for your posters, your product packaging and, just maybe, a sign about the end of times… ;-)

Abeille means bee in French. I am a little worried about the world's bee populations, as whole colonies collapse due to monoculture and pesticides. I have planted many bee-attracting plants in my garden and even put up a 'bee hotel' (which is full of tenants right now). Abeille is a hand drawn didone-ish font, kind of cute and happy, very legible and full of character. Abeille comes with a swarm of diacritics.

The DF Dudok is a minimal bitmap typeface which works very well in small sizes both on your screen and on paper. I am connected in a culinary way with the architects’ name W.M. Dudok. It was the first restaurant where I cooked under the critical eye of my chef Gerhard Braun. (Now La Stanza in Rotterdam) Well, it is incidently getting into my typeface work, the cook, the architect, his wife and...who knows

I enjoy and am inspired by many blackletter designs, but find that their uppercase characters are generally too complex to be very usable. I also found that very few, if any were designed with perfect 45 degree angles. I set out to design a textura blackletter with unique features and a usable uppercase. What resulted is an interesting, yet usable, geometric design with unusual features that make it stand out from existing texturas.

I never needed to digitize this early design from 1988. I found it in a drawer underneath layers of dozens of other type designs. The drawings were made with ink on paper, about 15 cm high, meticulously executed and retouched separate glyphs for a primitive photo-lettering. I used a photographic magnifier to set words and lines in my darkroom. In 2018 I decided to make a font out of it just for fun...

This is not Hollywood. You may be surprised but I am not inspired by the famous Hollywood sign for this type but a grid on a roof of Barcelona. I walked down the street observing the architecture of buildings in the area of the Marina when I saw a grid on a roof. One of the workers put a board on them and the magic happen. Hollywood 69 is now free with 99 !

Malibu Punch. I am loving this sassy script font! There are two versions: rough, with tons of texture, and smooth! I made it with an itty bitty brush and pretty watercolors. It's got loads of texture - check out those edges! Wobbly, rough watercolor edges! The capital letters work together, so it's like two fonts in one! The lowercase script is so sassy and full of attitude. Great for branding, logos, and quote art.

This robust, roly-poly typeface is patterned after a 1974 release from the Ludwig & Mayer foundry of Frankfurt am Main named Big Band, and designed by Karlgeorg Hoefer. The type color is even darker than the original, and the result is a delightful face that will definitely attract attention. The PC Postscript, Truetype and Opentype versions contain the complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252) plus Central European (Unicode 1250) languages as well.

I am not sure exactly how to classify these geometrical ornaments. They resemble the arabesque ornamentation of medieval Islamic art, but also have similarities to Celtic knots and to some Chinese and Korean ornamentation. The bolder of the two only works well at very large point sizes, while the thinner is designed for use at smaller point sizes. There are usually similar ornaments on the same characters of the two, but not always.

I can best describe the Thaun family as a general purpose display family, inspired by Scholtz Fonts' " "Delikat". I wanted to produce a display font that was more robust than Delikat, without losing the delicacy of the original. In order to do this I thinned solid, curved strokes toward the baseline, and let them dwindle to gently rounded points. As a graphic designer I became aware that designs that used a number of styles from the same family seemed to work well. This was easily done using a standard sans serif font such as Arial or Helvetica. However, when a different look is needed, display fonts do not always have a the variety of different styles that are necessary to produce a coherent design. Thus with Thaun, the challenge was to create a coherent family based on a display font. The archetype of this family is Thaun Regular with six different widths forming closely related styles. There are also two variants of the archetype i.e. Thaun Black & Thaun Rough to add variety to the primary style. An additional sub-family, Thaun Accord, appears in two widths. Thaun Jazz is a wide three dimensional variation. Thaun has all the features usually included in a fully professional font. Language support includes all European character sets, Greek symbols and all punctuation. Opentype features include automatic replacement of some characters and discretionary replacement of stylistic alternatives.

The original metal Neue Haas Grotesk™ would, in the late 1950s become Helvetica®. But, over the years, Helvetica would move away from its roots. Some of the features that made Neue Haas Grotesk so good were expunged or altered owing to comprimises dictated by technological changes. Christian Schwartz says Neue Haas Grotesk was originally produced for typesetting by hand in a range of sizes from 5 to 72 points, but digital Helvetica has always been one-size-fits-all, which leads to unfortunate compromises."""" What was lost in Neue Haas Grotesk's transition to the digital Helvetica of today, has been resurrected in this faithful digital revival. The ITC Nova Lineta™ design is the first commercial typeface from Slobodan Jelesijevic. As with many typeface designs, it began as simple sketches. “I was working on a packaging design project,” recalls Jelesijevic, “and wanted an informal, slightly cursive design for the type. I could not find anything that matched my need, so I began sketching.” The preliminary design had an elegant yet fresh quality that, once developed, turned out to be perfect for Jelesijevic’s project. After its first use, however, Nova Lineta lay dormant for over a year. Other projects came and went, and new typeface ideas filled Jelesijevic’s notebook. Although Nova Lineta continued to tickle the creative crevices of his mind, no more work was done on the face. Then, in a period between projects, Jelesijevic began to polish the design – and, in the process, created extended and condensed versions to complement the normally-proportioned original. Born in Gornji Milanovac, Serbia in 1951, Jelesijevic graduated with a degree in graphic communication and lettering from the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade. These days, Jelesijevic is sought out not only as a typeface designer, but also as a graphic designer and illustrator. When not working on design projects, he teaches graphic communication at the Faculty of Art in Niš, Serbia. Although it is a casual and inviting design, Nova Lineta has been carefully constructed and refined. As a result, it performs exceptionally well within a wide range of sizes and in a wealth of applications. An ample x-height, open counters and distinctive character shapes also ensure a high level of legibility. And, although at first glance Nova Lineta may appear to be a sans serif design, subtle serifs make their presence known at large sizes. Poeta Color is an ornamental font for making patterns and decorating text. It contains floral and nature motifs. Coco Sharp is the newest evolution of the Coco typographic project, developed since 2013 by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini for the foundry Zetafonts, with the help of Francesco Canovaro and Andrea Tartarelli. Influenced by vernacular grotesques sign-painting and modernist ideals, and inspired by the classy aesthetic of fashion icon Coco Chanel, Coco is drawn on a classic geometric sans skeleton but applies humanist proportions and visual corrections to key letters with the aim to create a warmer, subtly vintage texture on the page and on the screen.
