AndrewAndreas is a simple, clean, sans-serif font family that is highly legible and useful for both text and display purposes. The original three weights were designed in 1994 and three additional weights plus oblique styles were added in 2020. Also added were several OpenType features, including subscripts, superscripts, and fractions. The six oblique styles slant the upright styles but do not change the shape of the letters. However, three OpenType stylistic alternatives provide alternative letter forms for a, f, i, j, and l for five of the obliques and they can be used for a more traditional italics appearance.

A backstory with a different name Years ago, I was commissioned to take my Lust typeface and produce something unique to use for large format graphics for an event…cool. It needed to be hyper-contrast with a lot of over-the-top details. With a tight turnaround, I looked for primers within my development catalogue to help me, and settled on some early work on a typeface I had drawn called Hedonist. I used those sketches and its conventions to retrofit and build out Lust Hedonist (only to see the project go bust on the client’s end). I intended to go back shortly after the Lust Hedonist release to finalize a retail version of the OG Hedonist, but I never could settle on the look of the 'g' or the numerals, got distracted with other projects, and never picked it back up… until last year. After randomly doodling a fat, flat ‘g’ with an extremely tilted counter axis, I knew immediately how it could be used and that (re)set things in motion. Only problem was, in the process of refining the letterforms I began truly dissecting the pieces, rediscovering all of the recklessness within Hedonist, and decided on fundamentally rewriting the approach to the typeface… literally flaying it to the bone. I’m much, much happier with this finished typeface now, but the name no longer fit the moniker given to the first, adolescent approach—there’s far more audacity and cleverness in these letterforms, tenacious in their resolution now. As a result, the name Courage fit the mettle of this typeface so much more, so I kept it.

Keep Calm is a family of fonts developed from the now famous World War 2 poster that was designed in 1939 but never issued, then rediscovered in 2000. As well as the original Keep Calm font, the medium weight of the poster, new weights are now available – Keep Calm Book (regular weight), Heavy and Light – and each weight comes with a complimentary italic. Version 2.0 (2017) is a comprehensive update which consists of numerous refinements and improvements across all weights. The family now contains a full complement of Latin Extended-A characters, Welsh diacritics and Irish dotted consonants. The four italics have been optically corrected with revised, ‘true italic’ forms of a and f. The crown motif from the top of the Keep Calm poster is located at the plus minus ± and section § keystrokes (Alt 0177 and Alt 0167 on Windows). The lowercase g follows the Gill/Johnston eyeglass model, but also included is an alternative, single-story g at the Alt G keystroke (Alt 0169 on a Windows keyboard), the normal location of the copyright symbol which has been relocated elsewhere in the fonts. An alternative lowercase t, without the curved wedge cutaway, is provided at the Alt T (dagger) keystroke (Alt 0134 on Windows). When I first saw the Keep Calm and Carry On poster, I wrongly assumed the letters to be Gill Sans. Recent research at the National Archive by Dr. Bex Lewis of Manchester Metropolitan University has revealed that the original poster was hand drawn by the illustrator and painter, Ernest Wallcousins. The Gill Sans influence is apparent, in the R particularly, the M’s perfectly pointed vertex is redolent of Johnston’s Underground, and the most anomalous character, the C, resembles the ‘basic lettering’ of engineers that provided the vernacular sources for the Gotham typeface. Developing the Keep Calm typeface has been an exercise in extrapolation; an intriguing challenge to build a whole, high quality font family based on the twelve available capitals of the Keep Calm poster, and on similar lettering from the other two posters in the original series. This has required the creation of new lowercase letters that are believably 1939; that maintain the influence of Gill and Johnston while also hinting at the functional imperative of a wartime drawing office. Wallcousins’s lettering balanced intuitive human qualities and the pure pleasure of drawing elegant contemporary characters, against an underlying geometry of ruled lines, perfect circles, 45° terminals, and a requirement for no-nonsense clarity.

»QUINCY« started as an art project. I was stitching roughly cutout letters together on a piece of wooden board, but I didn’t like the result! So I ended up with a font in three cutout styles. I thought it was so unusual and really beautifully ugly, that I finished it, adding flashes here and there. Now I am offering this absolutely unusual font as a packet of three for you to enjoy. Svengali Roman is loosely inspired by a scrap of 1920s newspaper posted in the Typophile font identification forum. The consensus view there favored the view that the specimen showed hand-drawn lettering. As that lettering had such charm and character Greater Albion decided to fill the gap and design a face loosely based on it. Svengali Roman is the result and makes an excellent face for eye catching period poster design, or for any headings and titles. Svengali Roman has now been expanded to a full family, including regular and bold weights as well as incised (a hand tooled look) and newsprint (weathered warn type with ink bleeds) styles.

Be it a blessing or a curse, when a type designer sees a shape that could be interpreted as a letter, his/her mind is off and running. My parents loved to travel; Dad drove to Florida seven different years, winding on (barely) two-lane “highways” clinging to the hills of Kentucky and Tennessee. Lipa is the name of the Slovenian national tree 'Linden'. The typeface Lipa Agate by Croatian designer Ermin Međedović, is part of a bigger type collection, comprising various type groups into one coherent system which Ermin developed over the past 10 years. A Stylish Technology Sans Serif Initiate began as a digitization of a film typeface from LetterGraphics in the early 70's known as "Kent". The original specimen was only in a Black weight with a tall x-height and included standard Capitals, Lowercase, Numerals and minimal Punctuation. It was a techno style sans-serif, ripe with potential. As a single weight typeface, it yearned for so much more: from family weight development to stylistic variants. We also decided to create a more normalized x-height version as well, leaving the original design as the Display series. Designed in 1928 by Alessandro Butti under the direction of Raffaello Bertieri for the Nebiolo foundry, Paganini defies standard categorization. While it definitely is a classic foundry text face with obvious roots in the "oldstyle" of the Italian renaissance, its contrast reveals a clear underlying modern influence. In a typical Italian artistic fashion, Paganini manages to be a superb text face while having enough priceless ornamental moments to make it great in display uses as well: Check out the splayed M, the wide-tailed g, the flowing tail on the y, the high-armed k, etcetera. While the original metal version was limited to five basic fonts, this digital expansion includes small caps in the three main upright weights, plenty of alternate forms in all fonts, a super-seductive Open font, and an expanded language support covering the majority of Latin-based languages.

Cargan merges the strength of the slab serif with a gentle line flow. The Cargan family consists of 16 styles and is well suited for ambitious typography. It comes in OpenType format with extended language support. All weights contain ligatures, superior characters, proportional lining figures, tabular lining figures, proportional old style figures, lining old style figures, matching currency symbols, fraction- and scientific numerals and matching arrows. The roman styles offer alternative versions for the ”a” and ”g” characters.
