BonaVia is an adaptation of Greater Albion's Bonning and Bonnington families. Its purpose made to enable the construction of banners and mastheads in the style of traditional streetsigns, and offered in Regular and 'Blanc' faces. A selection of decorative ends and fleurons are included. BonaVia is splendid on posters, signage, book and CD covers and labels with a period feel.

Churchward Maori is the second of a series of eight Maori style typefaces designed by New Zealand type designer Joseph Churchward, and released by BluHead Studio, LLC. Churchward Maori infuses standard Latin glyph forms with traditional Maori decorative elements to create a wildly organic design. Drawn by master German calligrapher Hermann Zapf in the 1970s, Noris Script captures the magic of the irregularities of pen strokes. The idea behind Noris Script was to bring the spontaneity of a quick handwritten script using a broad-edged pen into the modern typesetting environment. Noris is the Latin name for the German city of Nuremberg, where Hermann Zapf was born and raised. Nuremberg has something special about it, aside from Hermann Zapf, it has a great tradition of writing masters, such as Johann Neudörffer (1497-1563), Wolfgang Fugger (1515-1568), and Rudolf Koch (1876-1934).

An extremely versatile, intelligently restrained design by Robin Nicholas for Monotype in 1980. It works very well at small sizes thanks to its large x-height, sturdy serifs, and lack of ornament; yet it is not characterless. Nimrod has been used successfully in national newspapers and books. (The Guardian, London, from its late-1980s redesign until it was replaced by a Carter interpretation of Miller in 1998; the Concise Oxford English Dictionary in the typographically unsurpassed 1990 edition.)

Portsmouth is a strong, sturdy typeface with historical character. Its inspiration comes from the height and strength of the wooden tall ships that sailed into port in their day. With caps and small caps, this typeface is great for headlines or subheads for design projects that need a historical or retro feel, such as from the 1940s and earlier. Seven different styles that can be layered allow for different colored drop shadows, outlines and fill for even more customization.

At first glance, Else may seem to be similar to many of the Century typefaces, with its prominent figures and sturdy alphabet. But when Robert Norton, of Norton Photosetting Ltd., designed Else in 1982, he added a bit of flair to that basic model. Note the bowl of the g, the splayed legs of the M, the sharply curved G and J, as well as the leading strokes of v and w and both of the graceful ampersands.

Oilvare is a hand-drawn, layered typeface inspired by vintage painted signs and oil cans. While sturdy, it also has a softer side—wide proportions, oval-inspired forms, curled angle strokes, and a medium contrast all help give it a little bit of distinction from the typical sans serif. Mix, match, and layer the styles to your liking. Carefully drawn, when you enlarge the typefaces, the subtle irregularities become more apparent and harken to hand lettering of the past.

Baseball is a bold and sturdy script with its roots deep in the 1940s and 1950s Americana. Baseball is great for for sports team or bar logos, beer labels or anything where you need a bulky script with a lot of character. Config was influenced by geometric sans with circular forms but the proportions have been condensed by incorporating straight sides for a design that is sturdy and efficient yet friendly. The neutral design with subtle details makes it functional for type setting in small and large sizes. Its clean nature makes it readable at small sizes but the touch of character—as seen in the notched joints, rounded details, and horizontal/vertical terminals—make it interesting at large sizes.

Brutal Type — is a new sans serif typeface with a distinct manly character. It’s based on the shapes of DIN font, however radically reconsidered. Despite the apparent simplicity and obviousness of forms, the Brutal Type design is original and fresh. This font is universal and familiar to all, emotional and catchy at the same time.

Building a modular digital typeface is like playing with the pieces of a Lego. Possible combinations are induced by the shapes of the pieces. All designers must have tried something like this once. Bitmap is a simple unpretentious font. It is the first pixel font made by the Brazilian typeface designer Buggy in 2001.

State Of Love and Toast is a retro typeface reminiscent of the early 90’s. It’s certainly the Seattle of fonts.
