Lomo, PLC is a Russian optical manufacturer, whose cameras have built up an international cult following since 1992. Deveren is a font based on goosefeather writings from the late 1600's.

Yarker is the Business Hand of the late 1800's early 1900's.

Cannoli is a brush lettering style font, designed specially for use in logotypes, advertising and packaging. It is interesting to note the use of free-flowing lettering to perform its own eye-catching. This vintage typeface is a reminiscent of the posters of the 50s, painted with a brush in enamel advertising signs. Cannoli was inspired by the delicacy of the Sicilian pastry, and the robust charm of its landscape.

Billabong has its origins in the handlettered 40s and 50s script headings that seem to have endured especially in signage when style doesn't matter too much. Unlike today’s scripts Billabong is tightly spaced and Opentype font features allow for a myriad of ligatures to improve fit and evenness of color. This playful offering, suggestive of Cooper Black on some serious drugs, is based on the so-called “California” style of lettering used extensively in travel posters of the 30s to the 50s. This version is based on its interpretation by Carl Holmes in a Walter T. Foster artbook entitled ABC of Lettering. Both versions of this font include the complete Unicode Latin 1252 and Central European 1250 character sets.

Kate Greenaway was a very famous British (1846-1901) author and illustrator of childrens books. Her books were an outstanding success in English publishing during the Victorian period. Recently I found these sweet Mignonettes in an old foundry specimen book. Mignonettes is derived from the French word "mignon" which stands for lovely, charming, sweet, delightful, pleasant and that does exactly describe these little drawings. DonJulio is a handwritten most-of-the-time connecting script, that dates back to the 1930s in Germany. We tried to keep it as true to the original as possible, conserving the shaky and uneven appearance of those days. DonJulio can be mixed together with its very embellished sister font Donna Julia.

The Logansport, Indiana Pharos-Observer dated June 12, 1917 had the following headline running across its front page: “American Steamer Sunk by German U Boat”. The condensed slab serif typeface used to set that headline has been recreated digitally as Newspaper Publisher JNL, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Dave West’s Italiano is a smooth and sensuous typographic dish with a few extra savory dashes. The silky semi-serif combines ingredients from eighteenth-century engraved italics and nineteenth-century Italian Modern, softened by fine stroke endings and plump dolloped terminals. Arkeo BT is designer Brian Sooy's first typeface family published by Bitstream. Given very few design elements to work with, Brian has designed a bitmap font that is unique and very readable. There are three widths, Condensed, Regular and Extended. In our opinion, pixels never looked so good. Arkeo performs equally well on screen and as on paper. The OpenType versions include an extended character set featuring oldstyle figures, fractions and additional f-ligatures. Design was begun in late 2001 and completed in 2002. Sooy asked Bitstream to critique, which we did gladly. We also added additional characters for OpenType. This included alternate figure set, an extended set of fractions and additional f-ligatures. Sooy used preliminary versions for setting parts of the TypeCon 2002 material and website.

Beginning in January, 1932, Becker, at the request of then-editor E. Thomas Kelly, supplied SIGNS of the Times magazine’s new Art and Design section with an alphabet a month, a project predicted to last only two years. Misjudging the popularity of the “series”, it instead ran for 27 years, ending finally two months before Becker’s death in 1959, for a grand total of 320 alphabets, a nearly perfect, uninterrupted run. In late 1941, almost ten years after the first alphabet was published, 100 of those alphabets were compiled and published in bookform under the title, “100 Alphabets”, by Alf R. Becker. And so, as published in August, 1937, The Fontry presents the truly "modern" version of Becker’s 187th alphabet, Moderne Caps, complete with OpenType features and Central European language support.
