German type designer Felix Braden created this sans FontFont in 2012. On October 12th 1976 a new basilica was inaugurated in honor and in gratitude to the Patron Saint, the Virgin of Guadalupe, loved by the Mexican people. This basilica was designed by the Mexican architect Pedro Ramírez Vázquez (died on April 16th 2012). It stands out by its hug spacious interior, generously decorated with bronze elements. The aesthetic value of these items even includes many signs and text inscriptions in a particular typeface and style, of which this font is a reinterpretation. The purpose of this project is to revival this eclesiastical written letter forms in bronze and taking them to digital format. I was inspired to this on my last trip to Mexico in September of 2012.

Amador. Designed in 2004 by Jim Parkinson. Originally released as a Type 1 font, Amador was refreshed (version2) and re-released as simple Open Type in 2012. A blackletter designed in the spirit of the Arts and Crafts movement. The works of Frederic Goudy and Rudolf Koch are also reflected in this design.

Correntino Railway is a product of argentine typographic archeology project called “Tipografía Histórica Ferroviaria” (Fabio Ares & Octavio Osores, since 2012). Is about the signboards of the stations of the line of the Argentine Correntino Economic Railway (1892-1969). The letter of this signboards can be described as display type, with elementary geometric shapes, vertical line modulation and slight contrast.

In 1995 Tobias Frere-Jones studied drawings in the Smithsonian and started a redesign.
