Smurrie means ‘sludge’ in Dutch. It is not an exact translation, but as good as I could find. The name refers to the rounded, blob-like shape of the glyphs. I think this font would look very good on posters, book covers and T-shirts. Smurrie is an all caps font, but upper and lower case differ and can be used together. Smurrie oozes with charm, fun and happiness and comes with a whole bunch of diacritics.

Dinghy is a shore thing. Like three fonts in one, Dinghy sports a friendly, bold lower-case, a salty, strong upper-case, and in all-caps with discretionary ligatures turned on, Dinghy is tightly interlocking. Batchelder Ruff is a "battered" version of the typeface used for titling in the catalogs and advertising of the Batchelder Tile Company in Pasadena, California in the 1920s. The original source characters were smoother, but they were also handlettered, so that every character was different. This digitized version contains uniform characters, but its "rough" quality preserves the hand-drawn look. It is designed primarily as a headline font, and thus is best used in All-Caps in larger sizes.

Brooklyner font is based on the typeface used for The Brooklynite, a magazine which saw its heyday in the 1920's. The typeface before you is an all caps affair, making it a perfect choice for headlines, posters and ads. Since I had to work with just a handful of glyphs (11 to be precise), it took me a while to design the rest. Brooklyner font is loose, cartoonesque and very legible - and it comes with extensive language support.

Fitz Sans SRF was contributed to the Stella Roberts Fonts project by graphic designer Matt Yow after receiving word of the project from Ray Larabie of Typodermic Fonts. Thursday Afternoon is like a typewriter that was out in the rain all night - all wobbly and worn, but with the well-known details of a typewriter, just a bit...well a lot...out of the ordinary! Although being awkward, Thursday Afternoon is surprisingly legible. I'd like that the font should be used for labels, toys for kids, candy or any kind of organic product. It even looks really well with headlines or shoutouts in all-caps!

A bit of Victoriana whimsy from this set of two fonts is heavily inspired by a variety of 19th Century faces without being a direct revival of any one in particular. Undulating curves, swirly terminals and bifurcated semi-serifs give these faces plenty of character. Both fonts include f ligatures and ct/st ligatures. Clementine Curly includes a full set of alternate curly caps as opentype alternates making it essentially a bonus font within a font!

Matogrosso is another rough script from Argentine calligraphy team Koziupa and Paul. With its expressive urge at the importance of discovery, it is ideal to use on wine labels or organic food packaging, stationery and old maps. It also makes a great choice for designs relating to outdoor activities and rugged travel, where the concept of the wild is to be accentuated. Matogrosso's OpenType programming combines several alternate lowercase characters to generate perfectly fit and more natural textures.

Turer is a display font with a strong artistic personality. It is inspired by some works of Rudolph Koch (1876 - 1934) such as Wallau, Original Neuland or Koch Antiqua. It is characterised by its vertical strokes that thicken towards the ends, which hints at a serif without actually having it. Turer is composed of capitals; the lower case being small caps. MuskitoCaps is a Tuscan (split-serif) font that is rather narrow and a bit awkward. It is caps only, though the lower case differs from the upper case(the lower case lacks the mid-stem spike). The family has three styles, plain, shadowed, and shadowinside. The last has the same shapes as the plain style but has the spacing of the shadowed style so it can be layered with the shadowed style to easily produce bi-colored lettering.

I really enjoy making brush fonts. I usually just get my Chinese ink and a bunch of brushes and start drawing glyphs. It took some time to get Studio Brush right, but I think spending that extra time paid off. Studio Brush is quite a neat brush font: the glyphs of this all caps font are of equal height (more or less) and complement each other perfectly. Studio Brush comes with double letter ligatures and some alternate glyphs.

Euroque is the 23rd font family from Cozyfonts Foundry, a California Foundry established in 2012 by designer and typographic illustrator Tom Nikosey Euroque began with pencil sketches, as all my fonts trace their beginnings. Influenced by European poster art of the 1920s and 1930s Euroque takes its name almost literally, European Style. These fonts are designed as a Small Caps Family, where the lower case mirrors the Upper case in design but its weights are compatible and consistent.

Crowd Funded fonts wasn’t really crowd funded… In fact, all of the funding came from me, as I had to buy paper and a new pen to get this font going! Crowd Funded is an all caps display font, which I based on a recent font of mine called Longreach. Crowd Funded is narrower and rounder than Longreach and, in a way, more delicate. It comes with a generous amount of diacritics and basic Cyrillic as well!

In Hammered all the letters are made up of hammers and an occasional nail. It is caps only, but the characters on the lower-case keys differ from those on the upper-case keys. It has a large set of accented characters. It is not often that one needs a typeface made of hammers and nails, but if one does, there is a font for that. Flagstaff JNL takes the lettering from Roma Initial Caps JNL and gives them the movement of an unfurled banner. For added effect, there are flagpoles facing in either direction on the lesser and greater keys. Left and right flag ends are placed on the parenthesis keys; a wide blank flag panel is on the left brace key and a narrow blank flag panel is on the right brace key. Letters only; no punctuation or extended characters.
