Traiectum is the old Roman name for the city of Utrecht (in The Netherlands). When I started working on this font, I wanted to give it a Latin name and Traiectum sounded good! Traiectum is a hand drawn font with a regal and messy look. It was based on Goudy Old Style, a classic old-style serif typeface created in 1915 by Frederic W. Goudy. Traiectum is a multilingual, all caps font and I am sure you’ll find lots of uses for it. The city it was named after, Utrecht, is actually very nice! You should visit one day!

MVB Gryphius is a digitization of uncommon type from an era normally associated with the work of Nicolas Jenson. Produced by Otto Trace, the fonts come from types used by Sebastian Gryphius in Lyon in the early 16th century. The italic appears in a book from 1524 and the roman and small caps appear with the same italic in another book printed by Gryphius in 1541. Retaining the rough contours and uneven texture of its source, MVB Gryphius is best used at text sizes from 12- to 15-point, but its old world character can work in display settings too.

The inspiration for Mimosa comes directly from the packaging for “Moulinard Jeune”, a line of French toiletries from the 1920s. I created the 240-odd glyphs needed to make up a complete font based upon the style of a handful of hand-lettered characters that were used on the original items. Mimosa is a mono-weight, connecting vertical script with a fairly regular set of lower case and slightly more decorative upper case glyphs. As with any decorative script, if you set copy in all caps, you will be tracked down and severely punished by the type police.

Calypso I (Italian) draws its inspiration from type founders' plentiful show-off-letters, which were typical on title pages and lithographs in the early 19th century. It borrows luscious details from these but inherits a stiff modern backbone from its parent, Calypso E (Egyptian). Within the Calypso type family all fonts share the same dimensions and work together consistently. Calypso I supports many languages and includes, for example, four sets of basic numerals, circled numbers, alternative characters, case sensitive forms and dingbats. The Neutraliser family is a versatile collection of geometric-based fonts with 24 styles. Pistol Twelve JNL is a novelty version of Jeff Levine's Twelve Oaks JNL wood type font, with the addition of random bullet holes in the upper case characters. The font design was suggested by fellow type designer Ray Larabie. Pistol Twelve JNL is a two-fold pun. Initially, this conveys the obvious fact that the design is a variation of Twelve Oaks JNL with bullet holes... but the name is also a play on an old, old joke. Phosphate Pro is an all-caps sans serif font family with an inline weight, and was created by Steve Jackaman (ITF) and Ashley Muir in 2010. The original Phosphate was published by International TypeFounders, and the family was based on the ‘Phosphor’ typeface created by Jakob Erbar for Ludwig and Mayer, circa 1922-30. Jackaman created a condensed variant, 'Phosphate Condensed Pro,' in 2017. Phosphate Pro has incredible presence, and its power shines in display format. Apple, who is notoriously selective about their software choices, included Phosphate Pro in the system fonts for Apple’s OS X 10.10 Yosemite.

The Mramor family first appeared in the Stormtype catalogue in 1994. The first sketch arose in 1988 through the narrowing of Roman capitals. It has uniform width proportions and, above all, original lower-case letters, unprecedented with Roman Capitals. The text designs are discontinued since they were replaced by the related Amor Serif family (along with its -sans version).
