Poetica font was designed by Robert Slimbach in 1992 with particularly generous characters. The typeface family consists of 21 weights to allow for an unusual variety of design possibilities within one typeface family. Numerous swash letters, ornaments and ligatures remind one of the early Renaissance and its unforgettable masters, for example, Giambattista Palatino, who later gave his name to Hermann Zapf's creation. Slimbach used the Lettera Cancellaresca as a model for his typeface, the cultivated humanistic italic which later served as a point of departure for the development of italics of the Renaissance and thereafter. Lettera Cancellaresca is very legible, extremely harmonic and impressively beautiful. The early forms display two different compositional tendencies, namely the static of the simple vertical capitals and the italic dynamic of the slanted lower case alphabet, as shown in the weight Chancery 4. The capitals later conform to the slant of the lower case, as shown in the weights Chancery 1-3. Diaria started as a project in Typeface Architecture for Master in Advanced Typograghy at EINA, Centre Universitari de Disseny i Art de Barcelona, a course tutored by Laura Meseguer and Íñigo Jerez Quintana. Later it has developed into Diaria Pro, an extensive typeface including Cyrillic script, small caps, and various OpenType features. Poster type faces from the twenties and thirties are enjoying a new wave of popularity. The summary, even rather hard principle of the sign is required for a view from a distance. The information appearing on the poster must be readable even from the opposite pavement. And, as is often the case with monumental type faces, these type faces are legible even in small sizes. The name Bahnhof suggests the hypothetical use of the type face on railway station buildings.

A long time ago, I used to work in a Pundak near the Dead Sea. It was a typical halfway restaurant slash gas station and you could order the usual dishes: fries, schnitzel, salad. Of course, this typeface has nothing to do with that Pundak; I just thought about the time I spent there when I created it. Pundak font is an all caps contoured affair. Ideal for packaging (not just Schnitzels…), headlines and posters. It comes with all the diacritics.

This decorative caps-only type family was designed in 2004 by Vladimir Pavlikov and licensed by ParaType. Johabu is based on Gebrochene Fraktur, a lighter softer sort of type, compared to the German forms of the same period. Johabu was drawn by Johannes Bureus, around 1620, cut and cast by Peter van Selow in Stockholm. Johannes Bureus, archaeologist and linguist, designed and let Selow cast runes in 1598, and he became the first Swedish keeper, archivist, of the National Record Office State Archives.

Sticky Annie is the latest in the series of fonts I've designed that are named after my wife. Little bundles of overlapping sticks or lines make up each character. Dnipro is a version of experience generalization of Ukrainian decorative font creation. The generalization development was initited by Georgy Narbut and Mark Kirnarsky in the 1920s and continued in 1970-80s. The sinuous, organic forms of Bing first came into being on a poster for a Smithsonian Institution exhibit on Siegfried Bing, a German art dealer in Paris who figured prominently in the development of Art Nouveau towards the end of the nineteenth century. Inspired by the natural forms of Antonio Gaudi, and the Paris Metro stations of Hector Guimard, Bing can be used effectively in the modernist style of Art Nouveau and is equally at home in the 1960s psychedelic rejuvenation of that genre.

Here is a "Decorative Braille font". The initial design was indeed drawn on a K.I.S.S digital sketchpad, the Windows default drawing tool (Microsoft Paint, classic version). A. We have created this family inspired from the set of well known Auriol fonts used by the French popular "cheerful" satirical magazine Fantasio (1906-1948). The present version contains Normal, Italic, Bold and Bold Italic styles, in use for texts, plus narrow titlings and normal outlined with upper and lower case, both in use for titles. This family may be used together with 1906 French News, 1906 Titrage and 1890 Notice.

The hand lettered Art Deco title on the cover of the sheet music for “There Must be A Bright Tomorrow (for Each Yesterday of Tears)” inspired the font Incarceration JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. Incarceration JNL earns its dubious name from the fact the song was written by Prisoner No. 3223 (Wallace Wysocki) who was held in the Marquette State Prison, Marquette, Michigan (1931)

The inspiration for this exuberant exercise in penmanship was found in Frank H. Atkinson's A Show at Sho-Cards: Comprehensive, Complete, Concise, published in 1918, executed with the then-state-of-the-art Payzant Reservoir Pen. It retains its quaint charm, even after almost a century. Both versions of this font contain the complete Unicode 1252 (Latin) and Unicode 1250 (Central European) character sets, with localization for Romanian and Moldovan.

Stateside is a bold condensed serif with a vintage feel. It has an urban and, I like to think, urbane character which puts me in mind of classic Thirties architecture like the Rockefeller Centre or the Empire State Building. I did consider calling it Rockefeller, but the family might think it a bit of a liberty, and I can’t afford to get into a copyright battle with them!

Ainabee is an Art Deco inspired type design. The designer states: "The Art deco period has always fascinated me. The Architecture, The Furniture, The Car Industry, Letters etc, much of what I associate with 20s and 30s. This design is my answer to this fascination. The name is a tribute to my girlfriend Aina." The design is simple and precise in its form and is intended mainly for decorative use.

The 1888 edtion of James Conner's Sons United States Type Foundry specimen book listed this little gem simply as "Antique Light". Its original, rather anemic outlines have been beefed up and its serifs have been rounded, with the result that this face will get noticed wherever it goes. Both versions of this font include the complete Latin 1252 and CE 1250 character sets, with localization for Romanian and Moldovan.

‘Bounced’ is the technical (!) term for a higgledy-piggledy style of lettering in which characters are shaken up by a combination of rotation and vertical displacement from the presumed norm of upright stance on a baseline. Now, by utilizing pseudo-random contextuality in the OpenType format, Nick Shinn has created complex, default bouncing automatically through the agency of a font, rather than letter-by-letter manual adjustments at the layout level.

Woolen is a hand-inked & italicized serif, based upon a 17th century type specimen by Jean Jannon. Many of the capital letters are decorated with subtle sprigs and leaves, while the lowercase letters remain classically styled, giving the font a warm and natural look with just the right amount of dignity. Woolen is perfect for logos and branding – she shines in retail identities, particularly for farms, markets, and restaurants. Northeast Railway is a product of argentine typographic archeology project called "Tipografía Histórica Ferroviaria" (Fabio Ares & Octavio Osores, since 2012). Is about the signboards of the stations of the line of the Argentine North Eastern Railway Company Limited (1987-1948). The letter of this signboards can be described as display type, with elementary geometric shapes and without line modulation. The principal font of the resultant family is the bold. The family is completed with complementary fonts of different styles. The proceeds from the sale of the fonts will be used to finance the project.
