Here is a profoundly delicate and graceful design that has its roots in art deco fashion. This elegant typeface is based on an old 1930s lettering style popularized by Carl Holmes in his wonderful book on the subject. Somewhat condensed with a very tall lowercase, Panorama carries itself beautifully. It is similar to such classics as Stellar and Optima with stems flaring slightly at the ends. Piano Keybuild is a small font designed for creating piano keyboard layouts. It was inspired by my Yamaha CLP-840, a wonderful digital piano. The face consists entirely of keyboard keys that can be combined to form realistic keyboards. These keys come in four styles: basic outlined keys, filler keys (for adding a second color inside the outlines), keys with note names, and pre-made sets of keys. Keys of a given kind will kern with one another, but only in the order that they would naturally occur on a keyboard. (This makes it easier to spot incorrect key sequences.) It also includes digits 0 through 9 inspired by numerals used in traditional music notation. The user guide (PDF under Gallery tab) demonstrates the locations of all the glyphs as well as how to use them together effectively.

My goal for Harfang was to create a serif typeface that would be easy to read at text sizes, while having a strong personality at larger sizes. The initial design had a purely rounded style, but with each development pass I introduced some angularity. The final result is a typeface that is easy to read in long texts, advertising copy, annual reports and the like; but one that also provides a crisp and stylish appeal in more prominent display settings. I choose the name Harfang (Harfang des neiges — Snowy Owl or Great White Owl) because after my first typeface, Migration, I wanted something with a thematic relation. On a more personal level, Harfang is the official bird of Québec, a province with a long winter and a wonderful, white landscape, and the place I call home. —André Simard

Adolf Rusch von Ingweiler, was in the 19 th century known mysteriously as the “R'' printer. He was the first printer North of the Alps to introduce the new Roman style of type known now as Antiqua. He was active in the city of Strasbourg from around the early 1460's to 1489. One wonders if the unusual form of “R'' was a personal conceit. This font is, therefore, an Antiqua style font and has over a 1000 defined glyphs with wide support for medieval characters that have since fallen out of use. The baseline was slightly tidied up in order to give the printed text an even cleaner look than the original. The letters are very close approximations of the original type catalogued by the “Veröffentlichungen der Gesellschaft für Typenkunde des 15. Jahrhunderts” as Typ.1:103R GfT1197.

The typeface has been redesigned, digitized, completed and expanded as OpenType Pro in the profonts studio.Arabella Pro comes in two versions, light and medium, each with a large selection of manually designed ligatures and alternates, i.e. swashed upper case to make this naturally flowing script design a perfect font for OTF-savvy applications like e.g. InDesign or Quark Xpress 7.Arabella Pro light and medium are perfect partners for any sans serif, especially for Futura. The little-known church of San Luca in Venice (in St Mark's district) has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries for people who are decidedly not devout: journalists, writers, free thinkers. In 1556 Pietro Aretino, a unique character of the Italian and Venetian Renaissance period was buried there. Such strong of personality, has contributed to generate the powerful wind of change that emerged from the italian renaissance. We have inspired on that talent searching for a new sight the famous Venetian typefaces. Probably looking for more vigour and contemporary digital style. LaFarge is a typeface primarily inspired by the historic mosaic titling capitals found in the New York City Subway, designed by architect Squire J. Vickers and his staff between 1915-1927. These elegant but industrial signs are characteristic of early-20th century American architectural lettering, and show an evolution of the classical Roman capitals to lower contrast, bolder serifs, and more regular character widths. The majority of this lettering still remains in subway stations today, and though elements of the style vary from sign to sign, many carry the unique features that are reflected in LaFarge: high-waisted crossbars with angled serifs, elegantly curved “R” leg, and distinctive trapezoidal serifs. LaFarge expands this style into a lower case, taking cues from contemporary typefaces like Bookman, Cheltenham, and Della Robbia. A number of typographic features are included, such as small caps, ordinal indicators / superscript letters, arrows, and a set of borders inspired by early subway tile. The result is a fashionable, architecturally-minded typeface that is just as at home on the façade of a grand public building as it is on packaging, magazines, or the web. I originally wanted to call this font Instant Pudding. When I was a kid, we sometimes had instant pudding (the ‘add cold milk and rest in the fridge’ kind) for dessert. My brother and I loved the stuff, especially when some of the pudding powder had not dissolved and had turned into brightly coloured speckles! First published in 1939 by Stempel, Renner Antiqua is a classic serif text typeface. Designed by Paul Renner, the father of Futura, this design stands out as strikingly different from his other designs. The letterforms are relatively compact and space saving and the strokes have a strong contrast to look as if made by a pen. This design is extremely distinctive and individualized, but without being overly distracting. Notice many of the small details such as the serifs on the uppercase C, E, and L and the bar at the top of the uppercase A. Also observe the special curve in the bowl of the lowercase b, the dot of the i, and the tail of the y. This design is wonderful for extended amounts of text at 10pt, but the subtle details will be fully appreciated when used larger for titles and display settings.

Loaded with various auto-ligatures (primarily for ALL-CAPS typesettings), Troubled has all of the rebellious custom lettered attitude of a vintage pulp paperback. Troubled PB began as a digitization of a film typeface known as Toronado by LetterGraphics, perfect for typesetting early children books, candy packaging, toy packaging, birthday invitations, or any other playful design need. It's lowercase typesetting is straightforward and casual, with a light animated feel, while the all-caps typesetting goes wild with auto-ligatures galore to create wonderful and interesting interwoven letterform combinations. HS Alhuda is a display typeface. It can be used for titles and graphic projects, which support Arabic, Persian Urdu and Kurdish. It has been created based on modern kufi style. It enjoys flexibility between sharp and curved lines in the structure of characters. This supports with a beautiful appearance and wonderful geometric structure. Gina is an unbiased humanist sans. The simple skeleton of the characters and the organic strokes are essential features to the design. It is a typeface that looks to the future while keeping an eye on classic letterforms. If we have a closer look, we will notice there is a tendency towards vertical proportions. Ascenders and descenders are long, making for a light texture in small text sizes. The type family includes 8 weights and 8 italics. There is a clear link between styles, both in the structure and shape of the letterforms. The italic counterpart uses a moderate inclination and some letters adopt characteristics of cursive forms. Besides Latin, the character set of Gina includes Cyrillic and essential features for covering current typographic needs. Gina has a wonderful set of ligatures, which indeed will catch the attention of those who love connected letterforms.
