Ranch Land JNL is based on a classic French Clarendon wood type, many of which were popular in the 1800s and are now associated with either Western motifs or circus events.

Grande Parade JNL is a decorative version of Winnetka JNL, which was based on antique wood type. The look and feel of this design combines old-time typography and festive charm.

ZT Mota is a bold and elegant typeface. It has a temperamental character but is more flexible towards various stylistic designs, reflecting more in its graphics the transitional stage between classical serifs of varying proportions, leaning towards the stylized types of Roman culture. Chamferwood JNL is another interpretation of the block lettering style most popular during the late 1800s and the early 1900s. The design was modeled from examples from a set of wood type.

Sales Slip JNL is derived from the core lettering of Sales Book JNL, an outline font with a cast shadow; modeled from wood type examples found in an old printer's supply catalog.

Cattle Drive JNL is based on some examples of a classic condensed wood type. Lettering of this period lends itself well to themes of Western life, carnivals, circuses or classic broadside posters.

The 1920 song “Noah’s Wife Lived a Wonderful Life (‘Cause Noah Had to Stay Home)” is another example of one of those overly-worded song titles from early 20th Century composers. What’s more important for type enthusiasts is that the title was hand lettered with a round nib pen in a slightly ragged Art Nouveau style. Cleaning up the ragged design, the end result became Nouveau Showcard JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Larchmont is a piece of pure fun, inspired by inter-war enamel advertising hoardings (often known as 'street jewelry') and by traditional sign writing. The Pommes font originates from my mid seventies potato punchcuttings at artschool. Since I’m living in a potato republic (NE of the province of Groningen) I got inspired to continue. I prepared this culinary alphabet as a tribute to this wonderful allround vegetable. Belgian and French recipies helped me in selecting and cutting/cooking the 6 styles. The Pommes-Dauphine Ultra Heavy (too much eggs added) can be used as a layer behind the Pommes-Dauphine.

Calligrapher Margaret Layson works in partnership with Australian typographer Harry Pears, bringing designs such as the wonderful Lindisfarne Nova family to life. After arriving in Australia in 1968, she began to work as a freelance calligrapher. Ryman Gothic is inspired by American Wood Types and Gothic Typefaces, mainly in the work of Edwin Allen and Morris Fuller Benton. The result is a hybrid combining gothic proportions with the contrast of wood types. While drawing consonants guided by gothic proportions, vowels were designed slightly wider, making them not only more legible when it comes to long text designs, but also more attractive. Ruffcut is an antique wood type style that evokes the look and feel of type used in the design of poster-sized advertisements for circus, fairground and like events in the late 19th century. It is inspired by the memories of printing letterpress posters on an old cast-iron flatbed press where the oversized posters were usually composed directly on the bed of the press using mostly wood type as large as two feet high. Ruffcut is optimal at large sizes for a wide array of decorative issues.

Page No. 508 was designed by William Hamilton Page in 1887 as one of a series of designs for die-cut wood types for the firm of Page & Setchell of Norwich, Connecticut. Page & Setchell was the successor to The William H. Page Wood Type Company and was sold to the Hamilton Manufacturing Company of Two Rivers, Wisconsin in 1891. 508 is a heavy all-caps font designed for headline work. It has a strong presence that reverses out well (light-colored type on a dark background). Great for retro style posters.

Elida JNL was modeled from an image of some wood type for sale online. Although the type design most likely has its roots in the classic Bodoni, there were a few characters in the original wood type that had a bit of a square or block shape to them. Those characters were modified in order to keep with the overall roundness of the other characters. The name Elida JNL comes from a small town in New Mexico. Available in six styles: Regular, Oblique, Extra Condensed, Extra Condensed Oblique, Ultra Condensed and Mega Condensed.

Poplar is an Adobe Originals typeface designed by Barbara Lind in 1990 for the Adobe Wood Type series. Poplar, a Gothic condensed, was designed from photographs taken by Rob Roy Kelly of the one surviving copy of an 1830 William Leavenworth type specimen book. Leavenworth possessed unusual artistic abilities, and his treatment of the letterform counters as narrow slits made it the only wood type of its kind displayed during the nineteenth century. Poplar is an excellent display face, its simplicity making it useful for a broad range of work.

Whether your subject is scary, or just ancient, this font can help get the right feeling across. PR-Cauldron has capitals based on Uncials, and lowercase based on Celtic Minuscule. “Potion” has a rough finish, and “Curse” has the same letters dripping with gore, suitable for Halloween. Gothic Round was first introduced as wood type by the George Nesbitt Co. in 1838. The font is a softened variation of a standard heavy Gothic typeface. The style evokes a much more recent history of the 1960s and 70s and can be seen in such places as donut shops and on children's toys as well as inspiration for such fonts as VAG Rounded. Gothic Round has not previously been available as a digital font until now. The font was digitized by Miguel Sousa from a wide variety of historical sources, including visits to the Cary Collection at RIT (Rochester, NY), WNY Book Arts Center (Buffalo, NY) and the Hamilton Wood Type Museum (Two Rivers, WI).
