Cooks call thinly cut - like matchsticks - vegetables "Julienne". I found that was a fitting name for this very narrow typeface. Julienne Slim is the extreme cut of the two. Personally I do not use narrow typefaces very often, but from time to time they come in handy if there is much text to be crammed into little space. A concertina is a kind of musical instrument, not unlike an accordeon. I just liked the name; I have to admit I’m not a particular fan of accordeon music… Concertina is a beautiful handmade script font. A little rough, but elegant as well. It was made with a small Japanese brush pen on coarse paper. Concertina comes with double letter ligatures and end-letter alternates. The Tang family came to be, when I started studying fonts made for use in very small point sizes, like Bell Gothic. I studied the use of ink traps and went to town with them. Instead of just using them for their purpose: trapping ink to prevent the type getting blotted; I used them as a design feature. With those features Tang works very well in both headline and text use. I use it as a house type, and I've already seen it in a beer and cider labels.

Kitsune means ‘Fox’ in Japanese. It really has nothing to do with Japanese foxes, but I am going to Japan in a few weeks, so I figured a Japan-inspired name would be perfect. Kitsune Tail is a messy brush font with no real baseline. It is an all-caps font, but upper and lower case differ and can be mixed. To tell you the truth, I don’t know what a juicy advice is - other than I guess it’s something positive and maybe even helpful. Well, what I do know is that this Juicy Advice is positive, helpful and playful. It’s a handmade comic font, with an outline version to compliment the Regular version. The outline version is also handmade, but not entirely sticking to the boundaries of the shapes of the Regular version. This leaves the outline somewhat off, but deliberately in order to keep the authentic feeling.

Mrs Summer is a hand drawn narrow typeface with a Western touch. It has only uppercase characters with alternate glyphs in place of lowercase letters and additional alternate glyph in a Stylistic Set.
