I sketched each letter of the font very scrupulously from scratch. Each letter is uniquely designed and has a unique flower pattern in the background. I used a pale old color palette to color these letters. There came out two font variants: a black and white and a nice colored one. The original Gelato Script has been updated and improved, not once, but twice. This version is kept here for legacy and compatibility issues, but I would encourage new users to check out Gelato Luxe or Gelato Fresco instead. Gelato Script is a smooth-flowing typeface with an air of familiarity. Influenced by both formal scripts and mid-Twentieth Century hand lettering. The power of OpenType is used with precision in the Contextual Alternate feature to make sure letters connect seamlessly, t’s cross where they can and swashes don't crash into neighboring glyphs. 781 glyphs make up this font, which is capable of speaking in many different languages. Alternate forms are grouped into stylistic sets to make it easy to change the mood of the text. For example, ss01 makes droopable letters drop below the baseline to break it up a little if required. I recommend using it sparingly, one glyph at a time, but if you do enable it for a whole chunk of text, the clever OpenType programming ensures that it doesn't go overboard. Sets 2, 3 and 4 bring about alternate forms of S, s, B and Q. Set 5 changes AE and OE to some perhaps controversial Upper/lowercase ligatures. Engage ss06 for the underline feature. After a word, simply type two or more underscores and a line extends backwards under the word you just typed. Don't worry if you have to break for a descender, the OpenType programming will take care of making sure it connects properly to the preceding character. Sets 7 and 8 are for alternate ampersands, and ss09 swaps the script r for a regular shaped r. There are swash capitals available for most uppercase letters, and the OpenType programming makes sure there is room for them under or over the following letters. There’s also a good amount of ligatures thrown in. The localised forms feature can be set for Polish, where acutes get steeper and lslash takes on its script form; Dutch, where IJ and ij digraphs become cool ligatured combinations; and Romanian and Moldovan, where cedillas are subsituted for comma accents. The stylistic alternates feature groups together a few of the stylistic sets for users that can't get to them directly. Gelato Script is a highly usable, powerful typeface. Perfect for everything from food packaging to wedding invitations, sports team logos to magazine headings. Use it however you see fit. Just one thing - it’s not designed for all-caps settings, so avoid that at all costs!

Schlange is a rich typeface with rounded terminals. The family includes five sans serifs and five slab serifs in weights from ultra light to bold. Schlange’s personality is determined by an open aperture and quite large lower case characters in comparison with the upper case set. Schlange’s personality is open and friendly, giving a text it’s used for a soft, warm appeal. Schlange will work well as a display type (think titles, short magazine call-outs, ad banners, and such), but it’s not a good choice for extensive bodies of academic text. Available in numerous weights, the typeface provides rich opportunities for mixing and matching and is great for typographic compositions. These qualities make Schlange a dream type for a packaging designer. It will feel at home in design for cosmetics or sweets, postcards, children’s books and menus.

Vinneta is a direct italic font. Its contours and graceful, and precise. Vinneta has a huge number of alternative variations of the glyphs, 20 stylistic sets, it allows you to create a variety of compositions. In addition Vinneta has 17 OpenType features, including oldstyle numbers, swashes, contextual alternates, historical forms, standard ligatures, discretionary and contextual ligatures, localized forms, stylistic alternates, and more others. For convenience here are two faces, one with stylized capitals (they are different from swashes), in another - classic capitals. Vinneta has characters of all European and Slavic languages. "Vinneta" it is an ancient city of the Venedi (Wends), the legendary highly developed Slavic-Aryan people that lent its name to Venice city, lake Bodensee in southern Germany, the land of Wendland in Lower Saxony; and besides, Lithuanians and Estonians even today, this name referred to the Slavs (Veneja and Vene).

Heimat Sans is the grotesque typeface family within the Heimat Collection, also containing Heimat Didone, Heimat Display, Heimat Mono and Heimat Stencil. Heimat Sans is a legible typeface family designed for contemporary typography, especially for use in headlines and on posters, but also for reading purposes. It combines an idiosyncratic appearance with the feeling of a grid-based letter construction of the late 20s. Since the design might be too extreme for some applications, Heimat Sans character set provides two alphabets, the regular one plus an alternate design that comes across as less suspenseful. A funny look with the spirit of the radio’s golden age, RadioTime is a typeface based on the handwritten alphabets of the ’30, ’40 and ’50. RadioTime comes with two styles: Regular and Tooled, in standards connected letters to imitated continuos handwritting and it’s provided with specials characters like swash, terminals, lower case numbers as well as an unlinked set of characters. Heimat Stencil is the monospaced typeface family within the Heimat Collection, also containing Heimat Didone, Heimat Display, Heimat Sans and Heimat Mono. Heimat Stencil is a legible typeface family designed for contemporary typography, especially for use in headlines and on posters, but also for reading purposes. It combines an idiosyncratic appearance with the feeling of a grid-based letter construction of the late 20s. Since the design might be too extreme for some applications, Heimat Stencil’s character set provides two alphabets, the regular one plus an alternate design that comes across as less suspenseful. Heimat Stencil [684 glyphs] comes in six weights and contains an extra set of alternate glyphs, many ligatures, lining [proportionally spaced and monospaced], hanging [proportionally spaced and monospaced], positive and negative circled for upper and lower case, superior and inferior, fractions, extensive language support and many more OpenType features.

Pantoufle is French for slipper. Not the flipflop variety (or thongs if you’re from Australia), but the one you wear indoors when it’s cold. I have some too; Spanish ones, made from recycled PET bottles. Here in Holland, we call them ‘Pantoffels’ and you don’t have to be a language expert to see the resemblance between the French and the Dutch word. That is because the French are probably more savvy when it comes to keeping your feet warm and the Dutch just borrowed the word, pronunciation and all! Pantoufle is a font I made with a big fat marker pen. My kids had used it to decorate some gifts for Sinterklaas (if you want to know what Sinterklaas is, look it up). Pantoufle comes with extensive language support and a full set of alternates for the lower case glyphs. Enjoy!

Rigatoni is a didone display family with exceptional readability. Based on a German mid-century lettering specimen by Nerdinger, designer Alejandro Paul expanded the face into an extensive family, with 5 weights, italics, and a 2 weights stencil version. Its tall letterforms and sturdy serifs give it a noble bearing when set in all caps; in the lower case its large x-height and spacious counters imbue it with a welcoming tone. A plethora of alternate and swash characters let you create distinctive settings for identities, labels, titles, and headlines. Use the shorter ascender and descender variants for aesthetic effects, or to prevent collisions in tightly stacked text. Since we've imagined Rigatoni being used for restaurants, menus, and food packaging, Sudtipos asked to designer Esteban Diácono to create some 3D visualizations. Ale’s type has never looked saucier!

Say hello to Gothica. It’s a display geometric sans designed with Stencil-like elements and letter cutouts specifically created for visual impact—ideal for logo, branding and advertising purposes. Galette is a contemporary all-purpose sans-serif for printing and online delivery, allowing the use of one layout both as printed material and online without loss of quality or legibility. Not only a high resolution printing font with extensive kerning, it was designed from the ground up for clear and uniform display on the computer screen. It displays more predictably than the traditional fonts: no overhangs are used, the stroke thickness of capitals and lower case letters is identical, making hinting or antialiasing smoother at any point size and zoom combination. Salish is a sans-serif typeface inspired by the art of the Salishan tribes in the Northwest Americas. It draws heavily on the concept of the ‘ovoid’, a wide ovular shape that is flat on the bottom and top heavy, that is central to the art style known as ‘Formline’. Designed by Aaron Bell of Saja Typeworks, Salish comes in 5 weights, from Thin to UltraBold. This classified version of Monkton, with its expanded proportions and extended serifs can be used at small sizes for classified advertising, newspaper text or larger displays. Its semi-medium weight (heavier than Book weight) makes it robust to be legible when smaller and cope with various printing methods. The inspiration for this typeface family came from my childhood experiences at Monkton, amidst an historic part of the South West of England. Studies of the original incised capitals of the Trajan column in Rome were analysed and polished for this modern version. The lower case letterforms and numerals were then created in sympathy, taking their proportions from the incised letters of local gravestones. Its name honours not only the area where the original alphabet was conceived and drawn, but also the people responsible for fostering my initial interest in letters.

Several years ago I was asked to do a sign for a rummage sale. To print the words RUMMAGE SALE, I took letters from some of the ornate fonts I was working on at the time. I liked the results, so made them into a font. Fonts from which the letters come include HippityDippity, Tuskcandy, Letunical, OakPark, WyomingStrudel, NeuAltisch, WyomingMacroni, WyomingPastad, and Rundigsburg. The original typeface had two variants of each letter, one on the upper-case keys and the other on the lower-case keys. The name of the original font, RummageSaleOne, acknowledged that a greater selection of letters was desirable but it was only with the upgrade of 2020 that the greater selection was added. The additional variants were added in two ways: as a separate typeface (RummageSale-Two) and also as OpenType stylistic alternatives.

Vectis, named in honor of the Roman settlement of Britain's south coast on the Isle of Wight, brings a fresh approach to the classic simple elegance of ancient Roman faces. Vectis is offered as a small caps face designed to add a fresh hint of character to this style of classical design. Vectis can lend a note of formal dignity to any design project or poster and is ideal for clear headings and titles with a traditional feel. Two basic weights are offered, regular and bold, as well as a range of alternate letterforms and ligatures. Populaire is a hand-drawn font that mimics true handcrafted lettering. Counting 4 glyphs for each letter, the laborious kerning table ensures that the glyphs are really exchangeable. Yet, there’s a cool set of ornaments and a kind-of-magic OpenType feature. When the Populaire font is used in OpenType-savvy applications, its Contextual Alternates feature produce a striking random-like effect on glyphs distribution, achieved by cycling through alternates. When not using the Contextual Alternates feature, you can still pick the alternates in the Glyphs palette or use the alternates available from the keyboard upper and lower case.. Inspired by the electrifying posters from May 1968 by Atelier Populaire, this dynamic font is flexible enough to bring freshness and energy to a wide range of design applications. Used in the titles for the 2012 movie Life of Pi.

As with any attempt at a new typeface, you want to create something different. A difficult task as most legible fonts are based on something previous. Somatype isn't actually based on any particular font but it has unavoidable similarities to others. The important difference here being the distinctive quirk of the connection points going opposite to the norm; exemplified best by the lower case d & e. Once devised, the unique characteristic was applied wherever possible, keeping the rest of the characters in a sympathetic, rounded style. I first designed this in the light weight version, seeing it working best as a large open display font for magazines etc. but realized it would be too light for body copy at small scale, so, medium and bold weights were created to resolve that issue. Incidentally, the word ‘somatype’ literally means body-type.

Zulu-Ndebele Pattern is the first ever font to be based solely on the traditional decorative patterns of the Zulu and Ndebele tribes of Southern Africa. The designer has lived in KwaZulu (Place of the Zulu), for over 50 years and has made a life-long study of traditional Zulu beadwork and carving, and of Ndebele wall decoration. There are 52 pattern units that may be combined in many ways to create borders, backgrounds and an unlimited number of designs. The pattern units correspond to the upper and lower case letters. The reason that the Zulu and Ndebele patterns have been grouped together is that the true tribal areas are contiguous and the there has been much artistic cross-fertilization between the two cultures. Many of the patterns that are used by the two tribes are identical.

The Irongate Font Family has a retro personality. The common denominators, in all the glyphs, is a blunt center serif. The main top & bottom of each Cap & lower case glyphs have 'fan serifs', yep serifs that fan out. This font's influence is based on a monogram I designed for my daughter's wedding where she described her image of the event being 'Classic with a Vintage Flair'. Irongate can be pictured on many things dated from 1918 - 2018. The font is available in 4 basic weights Light, Regular, Bold & Extra Bold. An additional pdf is included that gives the code for an additional 14 Dingbats, with each weight. Irongate works extremely well with Invites, Stationary, Signage, Embroidery, Letterpress, Ads, Logos and anything that feels Industrial or Hand-Crafted, eg. Coffee, Breweries, Antiques, Woodcuts, Western Styles, Sports Styles, etc.

Utshani means "grass" in the African language: Zulu. Grass has softness but it also has great strength and many African craft implements are made from it. When we describe someone as being "like the grass", it is meant as a compliment for it means that they can be tender and strong. The fluid African font, Utshani, was designed to suggest the flexibility and strength of grass. In this way it contrasts with the majority of other "African-inspired" fonts, which tend to be heavy and hard-edged. It can be used in a wide variety of situations, in adverts and on posters and invitations. The font includes all upper and lower case letters, all numerals and punctuation as well as all special and accented characters. The font has been professionally letterspaced and kerned, and the inter-line gap has been carefully checked.

Alejandro Freitez’s first commercial typeface is inspired by contemporary serifs and newspaper typography. Calicanto is a compact typeface with strong serifs, symmetrical curves and a vertical axis. It has open counters and a generous x-height with slightly condensed characters and low contrast strokes. The design of its letters are simple (with a precise rationale), and it is ideal for combining different variables and typographic bodies, for digital and printed media. Each of the 12 variables has 750 glyphs (supporting more than 90 languages), with small caps, ligatures, lining figures by default, OldStyle and tabular, mathematical and currency symbols for each set of numerals, intelligent fractions, lower and upper numerals, glyphs sensitive to capital letters and circular numerals, among other OpenType functions that make it ideal for composing demanding texts for books, magazines, newspapers, annual reports, and much more.

More Printing Helpers JNL gathers another assortment of vintage printing embellishments and ornaments from the late 1800s. Within the standard twenty-six alphabet keys are pointing hands, corner pieces, border elements and decorative center and end pieces. On the lower case, certain elements have been flipped or inverted for matching effects. Some additional positions are available on the 1 through 9 keys and on the colon and semicolon. A bonus to this font: three expandable panels. the first (with decorative end caps) is attained by typing the left parenthesis for the left side, the hyphen for the center lines and the right parenthesis for the right side. The second one features ribbon ends, and the combination of the less than-equal-greater than keys creates this panel. The third design can be made by typing the left brace/vertical bar/right brace keys.

Inspired by the most common grotesque heights and boxed sans serif typefaces, Luzern Typefaces was built with low-mid contrast sans serif and was designed in quite tall caps height and lower x-height which represents the flavor of the dynamic typefaces and is subtle for the display typefaces. The typefaces comes with five weights, from light to extra bold, plus matching italics in each weights. Schlange is a rich typeface with rounded terminals. The family includes five sans serifs and five slab serifs in weights from ultra liight to bold. Schlange’s personality is determined by an open aperture and quite large lower case characters in comparison with the upper case set. Schlange’s personality is open and friendly, giving a text it’s used for a soft, warm appeal. Schlange will work well as a display type (think titles, short magazine call-outs, ad banners, and such), but it’s not a good choice for extensive bodies of academic text. Available in numerous weights, the typeface provides rich opportunities for mixing and matching and is great for typographic compositions. These qualities make Schlange a dream type for a packaging designer. It will feel at home in design for cosmetics or sweets, postcards, children’s books and menus.

Mamute is a block rockin' family with a cool letterpress look. Its upper- and lower-case slots hold glyphs with slightly different textures for a natural look. Numbers and punctuation marks also have alternate versions. Just trigger the Contextual Alternates feature to easily cycle the alternate glyphs, preventing double letters from displaying the same texture. Mamute is a highly decorative typeface available in 2 widths, regular and condensed, each also offered as a layered font, a handy and playful way for adding shades to your composition. There’s also a generous ornaments font and a catchwords one to spice up your designs. Mamute is based on Aldine wood type spirit (as there were many incarnations of it!), from circa 1870. Please note that this family has a limited character set and doesn't bring diacritics nor accented characters. But yet it does rock, you bet!

Bredagh (pronounced Braid-ah) is a happy font! It can bring a smile to your face, yet is at one with science and mathematics and the Arts. The first presentation is in a Poetry book. Overall, it is a strong and capable font. The organic nature of the font Breadgh is in Nature itself, with the roundels as found in the cross-section of a tree, for example, both circular and rounded oblong shapes, influencing. Accordingly, some of the characters are of a condensed nature and some are not. The lower case does not have the condensed aspects but the numerals do. In the creation of Bredagh, it was the dynamic between all of these that was part of the challenge. And to make them all work together subtly to be in overall harmony—was the ultimate challenge.
