This is our first font, based on Peter's own personal way of writing uncials, The rounded letters of the fourth to eighth centuries. The characters in the caps position are more closely related to the classical Roman forms, and the lowercase position has letters that are the more rounded, medieval forms, at the same size, so they can be freely mixed, for a hand lettered appearance. This typeface is currently used for the titles in the TNT Television show "the Librarians". It was originally designed in 1998, and is now available in Open Type Format.

Packing more copy in a narrow space is the main reason for using a condensed type. Characters with a more ovular shape tend to be less wide than their circular counterparts and will allow for more letters per line. In narrow columns for example, this typeface can provide up to 25% more copy than the regular typeface in the same space. Another reason is when a larger type size is called for — used sparingly it is useful for headings or headlines. For emphasis, narrower letters can provide a stark contrast in the flow of reading, creating impact while retaining typographic character. Condensed types can specially useful in tables and charts because typically both use few words in each block. If space now allows, you may think about the luxury of a larger point size. The Algerian designer Taouffik Semmad created the fonts in 1997. Taouffik Semmad grew up speaking Algerian-Arabic dialect and French, studied Russian, and is now living in Montreal. This could perhaps explain his current passion, to "find a universal writing", which he admits is a Utopian idea. Created with brush and Chinese ink, the characters of ITC Atmosphere came from Semmad's hand but only after they were fully formed in his mind's eye.

A revival of sorts, Freaky Frog BF is modeled after an 1887 design from Central Type Foundry, called Grimaldi. Much warmth and charm have been instilled into the original design through among other means, reworked contours and serifs. Contours are smoothened, liberated from its roughness, while serifs have become somewhat concave. Verticals and horizontals appear to "swell" owed in part to flared shapes. The overall effect, I believe, is one of pure typographic endearment.

Originally conceived in 2007 while I was working through the early sketches of Ginza, Tactical features hard 45-degree angles and the presence of a curve for curve’s sake is just not there. Complimenting the original is a Stencil variant (inspired by the military, marathon video game, explosion-influenced name) and matching Obliques—altogether creating a sharply coordinating family.

ITC Eastwood is the work of British designer Martin Archer and is named for Clint Eastwood. Archer was looking for a plain oldstyle typeface with open lower case forms and used Stempel Garamond as his starting point, although the result ended up well beyond its origins. In small point sizes the typeface looks interestingly rough while at display sizes it looks like a 16th century French typeface and its unique details come forward.
