Crude Stencil JNL is a rough auto-tracing of a vintage lettering stencil from the 1980s, with additional characters added in post-production. At small type sizes, the lettering takes on a "grunge" effect, but larger scale text will reveal more of a jagged "cut paper" look.

Neuropa is a five-weight extended sans that projects a muscular corporate authority. The bowls of the rounded characters use an ‘obround’ form, and the apexes of the A and V and the uprights on the D and E are curved to suggest a sleek modernity.

La Carte Pen is a paper textured version of the popular La Carte font. Inspired by a series of handwritten menus produced in 1980, La Carte is a stylish but easy-to-read script that sets as well in body copy as it does in headlines.

This interesting type was introduced by the Chicago firm of Marder, Luse & Company in 1890, about the time designers were beginning to lose some of the excessive ruffles and flourishes that characterized the Victorian age. Originally a caps-only font, we have added a lowercase to match.

Streamlined Stencil JNL is based on a photo of an Art Deco era shipping stencil saying "With Care" which was heavily influenced by the Futura Black style of lettering. The image was seen in the Steven Heller-Louise Fili book "Stencil Type" (published by Thames and Hudson).

Swedish designer Lennart Hansson began designing letterforms at the age of 20, and since then his exceptional calligraphic artwork has been on exhibit throughout the world. Hansson won the Nordic Typeface Competition in Copenhagen for his typeface Runa Serif, inspired by the forms of ancient Viking runes.

The classic blues album "I'm Jimmy Reed" released on the legendary Vee-Jay label out of Chicago featured title lettering in a bouncy, fun, casual take on the classic Latin Wide style of alphabet. Bluesman JNL offers a full digital typeface based on that album titling.

Mr. Nakata is another one of my favorite Haruki Murakami characters. Nakata typeface is handwritten, sloppy and messy, but comes with intelligent features like alternates and ligatures, to make it look more like handwriting and less like a font. Of course, Nakata speaks most Roman-based languages.

This is our name for Antique Tuscan, of which there were many variations. This font came from a large lot purchased around 1970 from an east coast newspaper shop. Subsequently, we acquired several more versions of the face, but this one had lowercase so we used it.

This work is the result of an assignment to digitize and complete a typeface that was used for the intertitles of Kleider machen Leute from 1921. We only had a basic alphabet with some glyphs missing. Sure, Wenzel is not a beaut, but ... what the heck!

Pelican was designed by Arthur Baker and released by Agfa Compugraphic in 1989. Pelican is a calligraphic typeface that is distinguished by the irregular shapes of the lowercase letters. The rough-edged quality of Pelican makes it a good choice for informal display work and short texts.

Lettering Project JNL was based on one of the many templates made by the Wood-Regan Instrument Company (also known as Wrico). Their sign making kits allowed anyone using the templates, special ink pens and alignment guides to create professional looking lettering with a minimum of experience.

Ludema is a very informal and adventurous typeface designed by JAM Type and inspired by the many children’s books and the video games of our youth. Perfectly adaptable to be used in such designs as well on shop floors, Ludema is simply a bit of fun.

Sometimes lettering without any frills or formality gets a message across better than the use of fancier typefaces. The simple charm of the hand-lettered phrase "Safety Comes First" found on a vintage WPA (Works Progress Administration) poster served as the model for Basic Lettering JNL.

Inside the pages of the August, 1930 issue of “The New Movie Magazine” is an ad for Warner Brothers-First National Pictures – hand lettered in a bold Art Deco sans. This was the basis for Movie Production JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Mariné Rounded is a geometric sans, but with the softness of humanistic strokes. Its mild contrast and multiple different styles allow Mariné to work well both as a text and display typeface. It also includes an Up version and calligraphic features adding a touch of informality.

A set of model sketches was designed by Arevik Shmavonyan in 2007 for ParaType. The font includes pictures of woman fashion dresses designed for real manufacturing. Dormitory Decals JNL is a set of Greek letters placed on the standard keyboard positions of A-X and a-x. The design (based on Jeff Levine's Juneway JNL) emulates the gold and black water-applied decals used by college kids in the 50s and 60s.

Samman is a Kufic simple Arabic typeface. It can be used to decorate public signs in streets, airports, hospitals, schools, malls, hotels, mosques, and other public places. My family's surname is "Samman" which stands for the person who sells fat especially the one produced by cows ("Samn" in Arabic). Consequently, "Samman" Typeface was designed for eternizing the memory of my family. The main characteristic of "Samman" Typeface is the leaf-shaped style for some of its Arabic characters such as "Dad", "Sad", "Faa", "Meem" and others. The distinguishing artistic design of its "Haa" character adds a unique feature to this typeface especially when connected with other characters. The shape of the characters' "dot", "dots", and "point" is innovative; a triangle with a semi-circle shape.
