Its slightly raked (3 degrees) yet vertical appearance makes for compact setting with extreme impact. Hangtime exhibits some quirky terminal features, its shortened upstrokes are balanced by the lengthened strokes of others providing unusually consistent spacing. Best applied to display situations but is readable at text sizes.

Linotype Gavotte was designed by Rudo Spemann in 1940. His style was unmistakable, marked by original ideas and completely new forms. I searched all over the internet looking for a realistic sand writing font and came away empty handed. Undaunted by this, I grabbed my business partner, Mary and trekked down to our local river, the Arkansas (pronounced ar-KAN-sas around here). Using sticks, we scratched out the entire alphabet in the sand, including upper & lowercase, and punctuation marks! I photographed the characters, converted them to line art on my computer and used font creating software to turn it into a true type font! This font was designed for adding dates, places and messages to your beach photos that looked as if you wrote it in the sand before you took the picture! It is a decorative font best used in large, headline sizes. To make it appear more realistic, select a darker color from the sand in the photo to use for the type instead of black!

Italiko is a calligraphic font. The letters have been hand-drawn individually to extract the common strokes. The strokes have then been re-composed to give the font a more unified appearance. It comes in Black, Bold, Regular, and Thin. The Thin version is different as the extreme contrast in the font makes the thinner lines disappear. It is likely best used as a display font. Eckhardt Signwork JNL was inspired by visual images collected by two great nostalgia sites: www.forgotten-ny.com and www.norelevance.com. The vintage signage photographed and saved for posterity on both sites reflect an age when hand-crafted work was the rule, rather than the exception [as is today]. Although somewhat limited in scope, this font can best be used for retro or nostalgic embellishments in ads or design work. There's also a generous amount of blank panels to insert your own copy for special projects. As with previous typefaces in this series, the font is named in honor of the late Al Eckhardt, owner of Allied Signs in Miami, Florida - a talented sign man and Jeff Levine's good friend for 18 years.
