First of all, I don’t have an uncle called Edward, nor do I know anyone by that name. When I had finished this font, it had a strong ‘Uncle Edward’ feeling to it, so the name stuck. Uncle Edward is a handmade script font. I used a Japanese brush pen and some rough paper to create that ‘vintage’ look. Use Uncle Edward for your book covers, your invitations or your product packaging. Create labels for your vintage record collection with it, or print a guest list for your Christmas dinner party. Sonrisa is a design that evolved from my sketches of the skeletal structure of Jakob Erbar’s Koloss, trying to discover its underlying essence without all the contrast and bulkiness of the original design. Sonrisa Thin was the resulting font, from which the other weights of the family were developed. Gentle curves, open counters, generous x-height, and sleekly tapered terminals give Sonrisa a very legible, modern, elegant appearance. When she saw the first draft of this typeface, the smile on my friend Jennifer’s face gave me the idea to call it “Sonrisa” (Spanish for “smile”). Jennifer, a clinical psychologist, described Sonrisa’s personality as: "happy, clean, clear, open, joyful, spacious, playful, calm. I can see it being used for body product lines such as oils and lotions. Can see it being used in home/travel magazines or even Architectural Digest. Yoga magazine, definitely." Sonrisa is what some foundries call a “Pro” typeface family with all the bells and whistles that provide typographic versatility: true small caps, oldstyle numerals, arbitrary fractions, discretionary ligatures, and other powerful OpenType features. All fonts in the family, except Sonrisa Titling, support most European languages, including modern Greek and languages that use the Cyrillic Alphabet. (Cyrillic glyphs designed in consultation with Ukrainian type designer, Sergiy S. Tkachenko.) Sonrisa is available in the original Thin, monoline version as well as six weights (Light, Regular, Medium, Bold, Extra Bold, Black), and a Titling font that is essentially a display font construction kit. Gelion is a large family of geometric sans serif fonts. It ships both as two Variable Fonts or as 16 traditional fonts. Those static fonts span eight different weights, ranging from Extralight to Black. Each has an upright and an italic font on offer. The italics are carefully crafted, with an 8° slope. Gelion is inspired by 20th-century geometric sans serifs and classic neo-grotesque designs from the late 19th century and the middle of the 20th century. Its forms remain true to the gracefully geometric look of its classic predecessors, which will surely tick off any client’s long list of branding requirements. Letters in all of Gelion’s weights are drawn with virtually monolinear strokes. Its lowercase letters have a tall x-height. Yet, that still leaves enough room for the fonts’ diacritical marks. Gelion’s default “a” and “g” each have single-storey forms by default. The dots on the ‘i’, ‘j’, and diacritics are round, as are the punctuation marks. Gelion is an excellent choice for both corporate design and editorial design projects, thanks to its range of weights and its legibility in text. The fonts include a lot of ligatures, some monochromatic emoji, a set of arrows, lovely Roman Numerals, and more. Thanks to Gelion’s stylistic alternates, if a project comes up where you do not need a geometric vibe, you can activate Stylistic Set 1. That will replace many of the fonts’ letters with more humanistic-sans alternates, giving your text the feeling of a whole other type design with just one click. Last but not least, the descending “f” available in Gelion’s italics is a nice typographic trait.

Mencap receive a donation for each font license purchased. Every letter of FS Me was tested for its appeal and readability with a range of learning disability groups across the UK. Inclusive Fontsmith were determined to design a font that was accessible to those with learning disabilities without standing out as such – one that was inclusive of all readers.
