This font is a collection of ornaments and drawings suitable for Halloween themed materials. There are bats, singly and in swarms, owls, dead trees, spiders and webs, as well as calligraphic ornaments with a decidedly creepy bent. Most of the characters in this font were drawn on a napkin with a felt marker, and the resulting ragged texture was very suitable to the Halloween subject matter. Where the same stroke is repeated in one glyph, the contours have been edited to minimize obvious repetition. Use it for your Halloween party invitations and posters. I live in a small hamlet near the Rhine river. It is a sleepy little town and it doesn’t have any facilities. For groceries I need to go to the next town. The only road leading to that town has been closed for half a year, because of ‘maintenance’, so doing groceries got a lot trickier. The fastest way to travel is through yet another hamlet in the forest, on a very narrow road with extremely bumpy shoulders. Yes, you’ve guessed it: it is a Bumpy Ride. Bumpy Ride was made using a so called Brush Pen. It comes with all the accents and a sweet set of alternates for the lower case letters.

This Font is born basing itself on several standard typographic models. Inspired by our calligraphic drawings, the idea was to synthesize these many shapes into a unique font that can be used commonly. The slab base has been gradually humanized. The serifs have been carved, refined, rounded off, in order to galvanize the font and ease the task of reading in lower case. The angle of attack of the round letters is an echo of the 15 Century typographic heritage. It was important for us to create an expressive and humanized font, which could also be used for edition. Via sans is a font inspired by classics like Steile Futura and Din 1451, with neo-humanist characteristics. It was designed as a font for fast reading from a distance, which saves horizontal space in the text composition, making it a very good alternative when composing long phrases in reduced spaces, with high readability in various sizes due to its ample counters. With round corners that reduce the irradiation that reflective materials in signs produce. The design of the Jeunesse font family derives from a study of primers which the designer undertook earlier in his career. Jeunesse was designed with the intention of combining excellent legibility and character recognition with the ability to create compact, distinctive words and lines while maintaining basic flourishless letterforms. The sans serif style is pre-dominant in this design, but serifs or rather parts have been added where necessary, mostly at the top left hand parts of the characters, to aid readability. Huskeseddel is to-do list or memo in English. If you not already guessed it, the font is based upon my own handwriting. Actually not my everyday handwriting, but the kind I use when I make my to-do lists. But it wouldn't look right with a simple font with the same letters repeating all the time, and that's why I added 12 different hastily written versions of each letter. These 12 different versions cycle as you type, making your text look...well, like hastily written letters...you'll have to take a real close look to find out that you are looking at a font, and not a genuine hastily written to-do list! :)

A couple of years ago, I walked the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail in Japan. At the start of the walk, I stayed in a nice guesthouse in Tanabe city, which lies in Wakayama prefecture. I wouldn’t mention all of this, if it didn’t have something to do with the font name: Wakayama prefecture is THE mandarin orange (Mikan) growing area of Japan and the owner of the guesthouse had just picked a bagful of mikan, which he shared with me. So, I had to think of that when I made this font. Mikan is a nice, rounded family of fonts. Both styles come with alternative a’s (and accented a’s), which some people prefer for Children’s books.

Linotype Schwennel is part of the Take Type Library, selected from the contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. This prize-winning font was designed by the German artist Svenja Voss. The figures seem to have been somehow eroded, parts of some strokes are completely missing, contours seem washed away. The eye works to put the pieces together to form a meaningful series of figures. The second weight, lila+negro, completes the letter fragments of the lila weight. Missing pieces are filled in and contours completed, making the resulting text stronger and a bit more legible. Linotype Schnwennel is intended exclusively for headlines in larger point sizes.

Taking into consideration some complaints about lack of capital letters and deficiency of heavier weight styles, the Fermo typeface was redesigned to replace the existing font, dated 2002. New Fermo includes two subfamilies—Fermo TRF and Fermo-Uni TRF. Both fonts now consist of three weight styles—light, regular and bold—with significant contrast. During the updating process some minor glyph shape adjustments and changes have been made. Fermo TRF's main distinctions from the previous font are the new capital letters and additional weight (light) style. Fermo-Uni TRF is a unicase font with an additional lightweight style. Fermo is recommended for use as a display font. In large size settings negative tracking is recommended.

Al Harf Al Jadid is a traditional-style Arabic display typeface. Al Harf Al Jadid Two is an outline version of Al Harf Al Jadid One. Although their design is ultra bold, its forms remain a readable Naskh, in response to the needs of secular lettering for emphatic headlines and signs. Al Harf Al Jadid One and Two are characterized by a distinctive, strong baseline-stroke, reminiscent of a similar hand-rendered technique traditionally used in Arabic calligraphy to achieve a bold appearance. Initially developed as digital fonts by Linotype-Hell Ltd. in the mid-1980s, Al Harf Al Jadid One and Two have remained amongst the most popular heading faces used in Arabic magazine and newspaper publication.

P22 CoDependent is a revival of the Independant typeface from 1930 created by Dutch designer Johannes Nicolaas Coenraad Collette along with Jos Dufour from Belgium. Independant was released in metal by the Belgian division of the Amsterdam Type Foundry in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the independence of Belgium from the Netherlands. Despite the name, the two fonts contained in the set, Regular and Shadow, are not codependent upon each other. They can be used alone, but together they can create a dynamic two-color option. There have been other fonts inspired by and revived directly from Independant, but this version adheres the original design with the added consideration of how the shadow version will overlap.
