As a successor of Didots famous font, which marked the beginning of modern typography, the Monceau has inherited the spirit, elegance and sophistication of french style, although in a revamped design, typical for the first years of the 21st century. Liberated from its serifs and with soft and round small letters the Monceau approaches ornamental typography and thus perfectly lends itself to being enlarged: it’s a font that loves to be closely looked at. Its name, lent from the famous parc Monceau in Paris, evokes and reinvents in a modern graphical way all of the Parisian chic at the end of 18th and the beginning of the19th century (the time Didot was born), the French Revolution and Empire, the architecture of this business quarter and notably the arabesques of the monumental gates still present in our times.

David Berlow undertook the revival of Frederic W. Goudy’s Village family in the early ’90s as the first real step in the successful redesign of Esquire magazine. Goudy originally cut Village No. 2 in 1932 to bring early ideas up to date, adding the italic a year or two later for his own satisfaction. Font Bureau expanded Village, the model for Goudy’s mature style, into a ten-part series designed for Esquire’s use in text and display; FB 1994

Milwaukee, is a geometric typeface with an embellished-like touch. Designed in 2011, in capital English & Greek characters, including numerals, and basic punctuation marks, as well as CE characters. It was initially inspired by Byzantine and Japanese typography and later from the cityscape of Milwaukee, thus its name. This typeface comes in four weights and is suggested for logos, short titles, social media marketing, book covers, posters, labels and more applications you will choose to go with.

What was the inspiration for designing the font? Parks and nature. What are its main characteristics and features? Wooden, Children, kids. Usage recommendations: in advertisement for parks, for animation films, Cartoons, as you like.

Nyfors was a sudden idea. I noticed an ad in a magazine, with some handtexted words. I don't recall what the ad was about, neither the words. When I later on tried to remember how the single characters looked like and began to draw them, the result wasn't bad at all. I am not longer sure that they resemble the characters in the ad, but it doesn't matter. Nyfors is a nice handtexted typeface, whatever its origin. There is a small stream in Tyresö where I live and work, called Nyfors. During some centuries there was a center of small scale industries along it, and they used its water to run their machinery. The typeface has its name from that stream. Nyfors was released in 1995.

Communiqué is a variation on my Export Drive font family. It is a bold condensed stencil font of the kind traditionally used to mark tea chests, packing cases etc. Nowadays its applications are universal, although it is particularly well suited to branding or publishing projects which strive for a sense of freshness, urgency and immediacy, or a rugged, rough-and-ready feel.

The Vtg Stencil fonts from astype are based on real world stencils from several countries. The Vtg Stencil Marsh design was derived from 1 inch stencils, cut by a Marsh R machine. Marsh produced stencil machines since 1922 and was one of the most important manufacturers for such marking machines. The design is part of the American industrial heritage. PDF Specimen

Naïve Deco Sans is a layered sans serif handwritten font designed by Fanny Coulez and Julien Saurin in Paris. Our goal was to draw a font with finely irregular lines that give a human and whimsical feeling. It is available in two versions: double or triple lines. The font is also decomposed in three different parts that you can use to improve your designs with multiple colors, giving to the font a deco touch. To do so, you can simply superimpose the parts with a compatible software like Photoshop and choose a color for each. Linotype Cerny is part of the Take Type Library, selected from the contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. Dutch artist Mark van Wageningen designed an alphabet consisting exclusively of capital letters. The font’s most distinguishing characteristic is its irregular outer contour, almost as though they were ripped out of paper. Linotype Cerny is intended exclusively for headlines in larger point sizes.

I have always liked Scandinavian folklore, although I have to admit that I didn’t know about the Fossegrim. Fossegrim is a fiddle or harp playing water sprite - usually friendly, but he has been known to lure children and women in deep water with his music. Fossegrim font is a little bit weird as well: I made it using a broken bamboo satay skewer and Chinese ink. It comes with extensive language support and a set of alternates for the lower case letters.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a pack of Instant Harmony in your cupboard? Just add water and *poof* - all strive and struggle have gone, having been replaced by peace and quiet. This typeface is patterned after the lettering produced by the Marsh Stencil Making Machine, which was an indispensable part of industrial shipping departments in the mid-twentieth century. The font is unicase, but includes a “this side up” pointing hand at the section mark position, and a recycle symbol at the German double-s position. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

Linotype Dot is part of the Take Type Library, featuring the winners of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contest. Designed by Lucy Davies, the figures are composed of a combination of white and black dots and the contrast makes the font look like points of light and darkness. The general impression of Dot lies somewhere between ornamental and technical. It combines well with sans serif and calligraphy fonts.

Painting Stencil JNL was modeled in part from a vintage set of 8 inch Gothic stencils. Alphabets of this size were generally referred to as painting stencils because each letter could be painted individually in marking signs, streets or buildings, where the classic 'lettering guide' type of stencils were used for smaller projects and had alignment holes for accurate letter spacing as well as multiples letters per page.

Samuel Welo’s “Studio Handbook for Artists and Advertisers” contained dozens of hand-lettered alphabets used as inspiration for both the sign trade and for graphic designers. Intertitle Nouveau JNL – available in both regular and oblique versions – was originally an alphabet produced by a round lettering nib, and was first shown in the 1927 edition (later reprinted in the 1960 edition). It is reminiscent of the lettering used on intertitle cards of the silent film era. This font marks an amazing milestone - the 2000th release by Jeff Levine Fonts since its inception in January of 2006.
