Love Script came about as a way to finally answer the requests by individuals to take my brush pen/marker lettering styles and turn them into a typeface. Literally, everything lined up perfectly and there was a renewed impetus to push this genre, this style of lettering I have adapted over the years into what will become a series of brush pen/marker typefaces. The first I chose to complete was a high-contrast variant… I seem to be attracted to high contrast, high energy letters (think Lust, Lust Slim and Lust Script). As I was finalizing everything, I kept saying ‘I love this script’, which ultimately led the christening of the typeface as Love Script. Mainsail is a handwritten brush script font. It is casually written with dry brush pen, so it has this nice texture and flow. Multilingual, semi-connected​ display brush script, Nagamaki is perfect for logos, food packaging, menus, labels, apparel, advertising, cards, branding and more. Nagamaki comes with a set of lowercase swash alternates, ligatures and ending terminals. Inspired by my writing created with Pentel Touch Brush Pen and polished into clean forms, it’s stroke endings on letters like l or t reminded me of Japanese Katana swords. After researching the swords I named the font Nagamaki, which is a type of Katana sword with an extra long handle. It works well in smaller sizes and for more text but it shines in medium to large point sizes. You can access all the OpenType features through Adobe, Affinity and other similar software. With a couple of defining features like double story lowercase g and alternate lowercase r it makes a perfect choice for giving a little character to your designs while keeping everything nice and neat.

David Berlow undertook the revival of Frederic W. Goudy’s Village family in the early ’90s as the first real step in the successful redesign of Esquire magazine. Goudy originally cut Village No. 2 in 1932 to bring early ideas up to date, adding the italic a year or two later for his own satisfaction. Font Bureau expanded Village, the model for Goudy’s mature style, into a ten-part series designed for Esquire’s use in text and display; FB 1994

Quanta was designed without reference to existing sansserif faces. As an original design, Quanta draws on principles of letterform developed during my studies of lettercarving (in Wales with Ieuan Rees) and Roman proportion. My intention was to produce a highly legible and adaptable sans-serif, initially intended to be a TrueType GX font, then as a Multiple Master font, later as a five weight range from extremely thin to extra black. Forbes consists of one bold weight and is an alphabet in the style of the bold English slab serifs, as made evident by its flexed serifs. This style first made its appearance in the 19th century. Lunatique is a highly decorative font, available in three widths, with extended language coverage as well as alternates for some glyphs. This font is inspired by Lucky typeface, designed in 1972 by André Pless for the Mecanorma permanent type contest. The style was later released as Letter-Press transfer sheets. Transfer sheets... Say hello to Metropolia! Drawing up the first roughs of this design I was aiming for a slightly asymmetrical feel. I later realized that this gave it a strong art deco influence. A slight tilt brings it a forward movement and a distinct flavour. Designed primarily for headline use, this is not your workhorse font but rather a playful and versatile addition to your font toolbox. A set of alternate capitals will be handy for headline or logo ornaments.

XLeafMeAlone is a collection of leaf silhouettes from common Indiana trees based on actual leaves. Various leaves, selected for their good looks not their intelligence, were scanned and hand-traced. LeafMeAlone was featured in the “Type Drawer” column of Personal Publishing (later renamed Business Publishing--I do not know if it still exists) in November of 1990.
