FF Bauer Grotesk is a revival of the metal type Friedrich Bauer Grotesk, released between 1933 and 1934 by the foundry Trennert & Sohn in Hamburg Altona, Germany. The geometric construction of the typeface, infused with the art déco zeitgeist of that era, is closely related to such famous German designs as Futura, Erbar, Kabel and Super Grotesk that debuted a few years earlier. However, Bauer Grotesk stands out for not being so dogmatic with the geometry, lending the design a warmer, more homogenous feeling. The oval “O” is a good example of that, as well as characteristic shapes like the capital M or the unconventionally differing endings of “c” and “s” which make for a less constructed look. One thing to note about VONESA Minimalist is that the letter spacing is intentionally set for clean readability if you want to use it for body types, so I recommend setting the spacing a bit tighter for display use (around -20 to -40 should be!). Walking around Paris looking for inspiration for our latest people font, we encountered chic Parisians, yummy food markets, and bakeries on virtually every street corner with delicious baguettes and pastries. We were surprised how many people were cycling, motorcycling and rollerblading along the vast boulevards and side streets of Paris. We spotted classic French cars like the 2CV and Citroën CX and watched the world go by in one of the many sidewalk cafes whilst enjoying a 1664 or a café crème. With our latest people font, Paris, we tried to capture this unique Parisian atmosphere and hope we succeeded. All 64 illustrations are based on photographs taken on location over a period of time. The photographs are then hand traced to create high quality, detailed silhouettes.

A parade of murder mystery books is staged at the middle of the movie and at exactly 56 minutes and 47 seconds, the book "Confrontation" strikes Bisou's eye. A heavy weight - softened sans serif that is not only friendly, but easy on the eyes. Good Eatin was inspired by the title screen from the 1942 Warner Bros. cartoon titled, "Dog Tired". The original all capitals setting had a charming & quiet nature to it, which became even more pronounced when drawn out to include a lowercase set. Later expanded upon to include a Small Caps set, Good Eatin Pro achieves a wider, even more electric appeal. Loaded with personality, Good Eatin Pro is joyful and stands out without being an eyesore, and while being based on vintage lettering it has a contemporary feel.

Sausage is unapologetically bold and bulbous. Influenced by magnetic fridge letters, hot dogs and 70s phototype fonts, it is retro, but not cloyingly so. It was a deliberate plan to make Sausage only a single style typeface. The freedom that not having to think about how the font should relate to other weights allowed me to push the glyphs to places they might not otherwise have been able to go. There isn't a single corner in the entire font, and you'd be hard pushed to find a straight line. This is as soft and friendly as they come, and still equipped with numerous ligatures, alternates and arrows for sophisticated typography.

Rasteroids Old is a typographic flashback to computing of the early 1980s, when 7-pin dot-matrix printers were the state of the art, and most home computer displays were TVs hooked up to RF modulators. Rasteroids Old not only captures the dot-matrix printer look, but recreates the rasterized appearance of text on those lower-resolution monitors. Rasteroids Old is a fixed width font lacking any descenders. Furthermore, the character set is limited to the subset of US-ASCII that would be available on a typical machine of 1980. As such, it is not intended for large areas of copy.

Eric Stevens's latest typeface, ITC Lintball, combines two unusual features: its letterforms are based on the serifless lettering inscribed in stone by the ancient Greeks, yet the wobbly edges of the strokes, and especially the slightly wider “lintballs” on the ends, suggest lettering done on paper with a modern felt-tip pen. The ball motif is carried through in the fat dot under the raised capital O, and in the similar dot used in place of a crossbar in the capital A. There's an angularity to many of the strokes, especially in the lowercase, that gives Lintball its distinctive character.
