Melodi is the result of years of working with hand made types on my designs. Every time I draw the letters and words that I need for every design piece. One day I decided to go serious and make a real type of it and “Melodi” is the result of this work. It’s a calligraphic font, built using a regular stroke, and carefully crafted to have nice joins between all the letters. It has some playful but stylish capitals that brings lot of personality to the font. It work super nice either in lowercase writing as in all-caps texts. It looks specially good on lists of words or small sentences. Melodi is a playful but very versatile font, it can be used in lots of different scenarios. Why the name? When asked to design a banner for Tucson’s Historic Warehouse District, I couldn’t find the look I wanted from any known fonts. After drawing what I wanted in Illustrator, there were three (and in the process, four) fonts just waiting to be realized. Happy to oblige. Here’s Historic Warehouse Regular, setting the stage. It’s sturdy, bold, and plays curves against rounded angular shapes. To its left is Historic Warehouse Condensed, trim, elegant and at its best at very large sizes; to the right is Historic Warehouse Wide, with charming style and presence. Cinque Donne means “Five Women” in Italian. It was inspired by the five sisters in my family as well as a group of five high school friends I have known for 46 years, aka “The Club Girls”. The Pro version has 3370 glyphs with all the bells and whistles! Women are connectors, encouragers and supporters. Young, old, shy, extroverted, when you put us together, somehow we make a beautiful impact on each other’s lives. This is what Cinque Donne does in a visual way. Sproviero started what became another obsessive project, which is now named Breathe, “cuando las letras respiran...” what could be translated as “when letters breathe”, due to the feeling that you are reading letters that are alive. Breathe comes in two styles which have a significant difference as regards to the quantity of glyphs available inside. In B-movie awesomeness, Air began as Grotesk vs. Grotesque. I was trying to unify the prevailing traits of German and English Grotes(que/k)s in order to make something different but familiar. I am NOT trying to reinvent Helvetica (snore), so get that out of your system. From the onset, I intended this typeface to be a true workhorse that offers infinite options and flexibility for the user. At its core, it is the maturation of the Aaux Next skeleton I developed years ago. I worked out Aaux Next to settle my issues and love for Akzidenz. With Aaux Next, I strove to be mechanical, cold and unforgiving with it. I was single, young, cocky and it fit. Now I'm married, kids, dog and have found that I've turned into a big softy. When I look at Aaux Next (and have for the past few years) I see another typeface trying to eek out. I wanted it to avoid the trappings of robotic sans, quick tricks and compromises. The typeface’s DNA needed to be drawn and not just generated on a screen — so I set aside a year. I love type. I love working with type. I hate when my options for a slanted complement is only oblique or italic. I set out to produce both to balance usage — there are more than enough reasons to prepare both and I want the user to feel free to consciously choose (and have the option to choose) the appropriate typeface for print, web, etc. That flexibility was central to my decision-making process. The Oblique is immediate and aggressive. The Italic was redrawn at a less severe angle with far more movement and, as a result, is far more congenial when paired with the Uprights. Condensed and Compressed. Yep, why not? I know I would use them. There are nine weights currently available. The logical progression of weights and the intended flexibility demanded I explore a number of light weights and their potential uses — this has produced a number of ‘light without being too light’ options that really work based on the size. The result is a robust 81-font superfamily that is functional, professional, and highly legible without compromising its personality. Pair that with over 900 characters per font that includes ligatures, discretionary ligatures, stylistic alternates, fractions, proportional/tabular lining and proportional/tabular oldstyle figures, numerators, denominators, ordinals, superiors, inferiors, small caps, case-sensitive functionality and extensive language support and you have a versatile superfamily well-suited for any project.

SIAS opens a new chapter in Irish vernacular typography: the Andron-2-Irish font family. The genes of the insular typographic heritage have been blended with the timeless classical style of the versatile Andron series. Whereas most Irish-style fonts available more or less stick to ancient designs, Andron-2-EIR is different: it’s an entirely new design in which Irishness meets the beauty of a matured Venetian Roman text face. Envision a new horizon for setting Irish text in its own visual mode! Now you can utilize Italics, Semibold and Small capitals for Irish just as you have been doing in other languages for a long time. But the icing on the cake is the fifth font: Andron Irish Middlecase honours the rich medieval tradition of Ireland by a special uncial-style glyph set. It corresponds to the Andron MC series. Last but not least the Irish type connoisseur will relish this font package for it’s unique utilization of Opentype functionality. In Opentype-aware applications, by just ticking a box you can switch to the special insular forms of s and r. By ticking another box you can transform the text from modern-day orthography to the traditional spelling with lenited consonants. This built-in intelligence has never been implemented in any Irish font before. Briefly, the Opentype substitution features are: [Ligatures] – default basic f-ligatures; [Descretionary Ligatures] – more ligatures for typographic reason, mainly t- and long-s-combinations; [Style set 1] – turns all lowercase r and s into their insular glyph variants; [Style set 2] – replaces all consonant-h digraphs by dotted consonants (ḃċḋḟġṁṗṡẛṫ, ḂĊḊḞĠṀṖṠṪ), works for lowercase, uppercase and upper-lowercase alike; [Style set 3] – provides another range of additional special ligatures (for Regular and Italic only); [Oldstyle figures] – turns the default lining figures into proportional oldstyle figures. A lovingly handwritten, hand-traced and developed font family that you can use in all sort of design projects - branding, invitations, quotes design etc. The family contains 33 fonts in total. Script fonts all have initial and end swashes as well as ligatures and contextual alternates. Serif and Sans serif fonts are all capitals fonts and all of them have stylistic alternates and catchwords ligatures. The fonts are fully unicode mapped so you can use them basically in any software. If the software you are working in is not OpenType-aware one, you'll need an additional software to help you to find the glyphs you want - PopChar (MAC & Windows) or Ultra Character Map (MAC) will do the job. Pragmatica Slabserif was designed as a complement to the popular type family Pragmatica by Vladimir Yefimov and Isabella Chaeva (1989-2004) by addition of square serifs. Inspired by Helserif (Phil Martin, 1978) which was formed in the same way by addition of square serifs to Helvetica (Eduard Hoffman and Max Miedinger, 1957). First sketches of Pragmatica Slabserif were created by Vladimir Yefimov in 1988 during development of Pragmatica. Olga Umpeleva designed the whole slabserif type family of six weights basing on those sketches. All styles of Pragmatica Slabserif coordinate with corresponding Pragmatica styles on metrics, proportions, weights and design. The new family can be used together with Pragmatica and separately. It’s convenient for technical texts, for magazines of general nature, for business applications as well as for advertising and display matter. Pragmatica Slabserif was released by ParaType in 2011.

This frivolous 6-font typeface was inspired by playing with my food one evening. I began to wonder what it would be like to draw a typeface with a pipette and liquid... the result is Fluid. A key feature are the contextual alternates that substitute an alternate second glyph when typing double letters, this gives a more natural feel to the resulting text. It’s a fun typeface from my back catalogue that was originally released in June 2018. Enjoy playing!

Dom was designed by Peter Dombrezian for American Type Founders in 1951–52. It is an informal unjoined script typeface that looks brushwritten. Its letters are almost monotone, freely or casually drawn. Vertical strokes of them have irregular ending at different heights, and oval axis have slightly different slopes. This typeface is to create a friendly, informal look in signs, advertising, and invitations. The Cyrillic version of the Bitstream digital font was developed by Dmitry Kirsanov for ParaType in 2008.

This font was inspired by the very well-known humanistic script called "Cancellaresca". This variant was used by a lot of calligraphers in the late 1400s, specially by the Venetian Giovannantonio Tagliente, whose patterns were mainly used for this font. You can compare this with 1610 Cancellaresca. Numerals were inspired by Da Vinci manuscripts, from the same period. We added accented characters and a few others not currently existing at the time. A lot of titling alternates and ligatures are also included.
