Two years ago I went on a camping holiday in England with my wife and (then two) small children. The first stop was a nature campsite near the village of Bodiam in East Sussex. My son wanted to see a real castle, so I figured Bodiam Castle was the 'realest' of them all! He loved it, as the castle had a moat, crenellated walls, a bunch of towers and a guy dressed up as a knight. Bodiam font is a rough didone-ish affair. It is all caps, but you can freely mix upper and lower case. It would be ideal for book covers, posters and maybe even for castles. Comes with a treasure chest of diacritics.

A “latin” alphabet modelled on the ethiopian Ge'ez script - an experiment that works. Amhara was created by transferring the typical forms of the Ethiopian Amharic script to the west European alphabet. Because Amharic is traditionally written with an expanded pen tip, it shows the typical ductus also characteristic of the uncial scripts of late antiquity and the early Middle Ages. So this font »Amhara« has a somewhat sacramental effect. And, although the individual forms look foreign, the overall picture is strangely familiar. The two styles of »Amhara« include a number of ligatures which dispose of many non-attractive letter combinations. Stylistic alternates are available for some letters, too. With Dreadnought I go back to my roots: one of my very first fonts was a scary brush typeface called Face Your Fears - a very popular typeface with horror lovers, thrill seekers and gangsta rappers. Dreadnought was created using a stiff brush and some very high quality paint on textured paper. The result is a lively, scary and very legible font. At first glance, Typewriter Sans JNL seems to look like the pantograph lettering of an engraved sign or the rounded-end lettering from an architect's templates. It might also be mistaken for plastic pin-back lettering used on some bulletin boards. In actuality, the design is based on examples of an electric typewriter ball element with a sans font named "Dual Gothic", suggested for use "in credit reports and other financial applications".

Grotbox is an interesting, if not startling, distressed punk font. There are two varieties: one with upright characters; the other with the characters rotated out of whack for extra informality. Legibility is maintained, despite the wild industrial feel of the typeface, and it's designed to grab the attention. The zip package contains both OTF and TTF versions - install either OTF or TTF, not both versions of a font on the same machine.

Obrigado means 'Thank You' in Portuguese. It is my way of saying thanks to the unknown designer of a Portuguese port-wine poster from the thirties. Obrigado font is based on that poster. As I had to work with a handful of glyphs, I designed the missing ones myself. Obrigado is a quite elegant and refined art deco font, which would be ideal for posters and logos. Obrigado speaks most Roman based languages.
