DUAL is a full width sans-serif typeface with an experimental side. Its straight lines and 90 degree angles give it a very geometric feel without hindering its legibility. The idea behind DUAL has been brewing for quite some time, and though there has been many “experimental” released in the past, it does have its unique features. For starters, it is a fully usable and legible font in its original state. Tristyn is a signature handwritten font package with a personal charm. With a style that I feel is the first time being blended with a different brush so it has a natural hand Tristyn Regular contains upper and lower case letters, numbers and various complete signs. Tristyn Alt includes alternative characters, with capital letters and small that is completely new. Ligatures are available for some lowercase letters (more natural double letters). An early design, but it has its moments. It is very narrow and spindly in the vertical strokes, so it really only makes sense to use fairly large point sizes, and for short phrases. Vowels are included, and just for variety, cantillations are also included

Alga is a high contrast modern typeface with a contemporary look. It has subtle details that make it appealing for big sizes and headlines. It is a lively and charming serif typeface with lots of fancy curves. It is a serif typeface that will shine in headlines and short pieces of text. It also works in smaller sizes, but it is not for the tiny text sizes. Alga started from an exploration of the thinner weight with this idea of a tall and elegant serif typeface with low contrast. Then it evolved to be a high contrast font in the bold weight. But always keeping its style and personality.

In designing a font that had a Mayan or Aztec quality to it without the usual "Mariachi" look, I decided to make it single weight with some open ends and offbeat rounded serifs to give it a more serious feel which will lend itself to other non ethnic uses. I have added a few discretionary ligatures, which also contain old-style numerals, titling caps and small caps. Usage recommendations: Captions, packaging, cards, posters, ads, book jackets, manuals, and menus.

Kabouter (kaːˈbɑu̯.tər) means ‘gnome’ in Dutch. I have no particular love for gnomes (even though I have a font called Garden Gnome…), but this font had a fairytale feeling to it and the name looked good. Kabouter is a happy display font. It is fun, bouncy and quirky. Use it for your book covers, toy-packaging and home made apple sauce labels. Within the pages of the April 16, 1938 issue of Liberty Magazine was found a hand lettered condensed typeface with a fun attitude that’s perfect for casual and informal titling. Because the art of lettering allows for taking liberties with letterforms, and as this came from Liberty Magazine as an inspiration source, it was only fitting that the typeface would be named Taking Liberties JNL. It is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Shinano is an old province of Japan. Kobayashi Issa (1763 - 1828), a famous Japanese Haiku poet and Buddhist priest, was born here. Together with Bashō he is my favourite Haiku poet. Shinano font was hand made using a Japanese brush pen. At first glance it may look like a messy script, but underneath its rough appearance beats a poetic heart. Blubber Kitty had been quietly curled up in Phil Garnham’s sketchbook for a year before he brought it out to be brushed up. “It was in the mix as a basic form when I started thinking about FS Lola. It was a twisted, bubbly beauty – quite squishable and huggable. The working file was called Blubber. “At that time it was a basic construction of strokes. I created the ‘A’ first, purely as a shape to play with, not as type. I flipped it for ‘V’, and copied that for a ‘W’. I flipped the ‘W’ for an ‘M’... I thought, ‘This looks a bit wacky, but I like it,’ and just carried on. The most tricky characters were the ‘B’ ‘P’ and ‘R’. I must have drawn about 20 kinds of B for this, just to get it to fit.” Variety “When the regular weight of Kitty had been designed,” says Jason Smith, “it just felt like a natural progression to go on and explore how far we could go with it: Light, Solid, Headline, Shadow.” Phil Garnham thinks there’s still more to come. “There are some really individual characters in this font that I think have yet to be exploited: the Greek Omega symbol, the strange face in the ampersand. HU Suryeo is a new typeface of Heumm's calligraphy that takes the motif from carefully written calligraphy. It follows the calligraphic shape of Korean classics and can be used for titles and body text without distinction. The stroke thickness, strength, and degree of bending were set differently for each style. The thinner it is, the sharper it is, and the thicker it is, the blunt and round it is.

It was there that Fernando became engrossed in the collection of early metal type, matrices, punches and type samples by figures such as Garamond and Granjon. So much so that he took on the mighty task of developing ‘a beautiful, functional, serifed text font’ of his own. Heroic FS Brabo’s journey from sketch to font family took an epic three years, starting in Antwerp, continuing at Fontsmith in London, and reaching its conclusion back in Fernando’s home city of São Paulo. No wonder Fernando was reminded of another titanic face-off: that of Antwerp’s Roman hero of legend, Silvius Brabo, and the evil ogre, Antigoon. Brabo came to the town’s rescue after the tyrannical giant had been charging ships’ captains extortionate taxes and chopping off the hands of those who refused to pay up. Having finally downed Antigoon after a long and terrible duel, Brabo cut off the giant’s own hand and threw it into the river Scheldt, unwittingly giving the town its name: the Dutch for ‘hand-throw’ is hand werpen. What better way for Fernando to name his literary typeface than after the hero of Antwerp’s oldest tale? The garalde factor FS Brabo is not a revival, but a very much a contemporary, personal interpretation of a garalde – a class of typeface originating in the 16th century that includes Bembo, Garamond and Plantin, with characteristically rounded serifs and moderate contrast between strokes.
