Mo' Funky Fresh is the work of New York designer David Sagorski. It is an all capital typeface which includes a set of alternative capitals, compatible symbols and lively illustrations. Mo' Funky Fresh brings to mind sunny days, tiki bars, surfboards and cool drinks and is a great choice for headlines requiring a vital, energetic look.

The font is done with a minimalist touch of gothic and blackletter, inspired by several music and bands that I was currently enjoying and often listened to throughout the day, where the music depicts a little visually in the form of font characters like this Mordova font, feels loud, vibrant , dark but simple and easy to read.

I often experiment with different shadow techniques. One day I accidentally scaled, instead of repositioning, some black text behind the white copy on top and noticed something very different and interesting happen. It was an intriguing effect. It took some clever handiwork to make it work properly across the entire alphabet. And behold, Eclipse was born.

Sandra Oh is a quirky modern take on the classic serif fonts of the 20th century, updated here with a wiggle in her walk and a giggle in her talk. I was doing the laundry the other day and, as usual, I was going through the pockets of my jeans. After I had emptied my party pockets, I figured it was a great name for a new font! So, without further ado: here’s Party Pocket: a handwritten all caps font - great for product packaging, greeting cards and posters!

Chapter Initials provide a true demonstration of how elegant simplicity can be modern yet retain traditional character without the blandness which seems so common these days. In the days when sheet music was as popular as phonograph records for home entertainment, a song album was a folio of collected works. The hand-lettering on the 1940s-era cover for "The Sigmund Romberg Song Album, Book II" served as the model for Song Album JNL. Romberg was a noted composer of Broadway show tunes.

Deco Semi Serif JNL was modeled from the hand lettered title on the sheet music cover for the 1933 song "Another Perfect Day Has Passed Away". This interesting design blend of serif, sans serif and partial-serif characters commands attention with its eccentric mix of letter forms, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

We saw a zigzag type like this made in the 1860s. We copied the idea, but added stars to make it patriotic. As with many highly specialized fonts, you won't want to use this every day but certainly, like other "stars and stripes" types, it implies something about the message even before one reads the words.

The result of a study into the Paris Metro system; Metro Sans is a Grotesk typeface with personality. This family of faces take their inspiration from the standard faces used by the Leroy® Automatic Lettering Machine, a mainstay for architects and draftsmen in Ye Olden Days of t-squares and triangles. Crisp, clean and retro-techno. Both versions of this font include the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets.

Recently I have been watching some re-runs of Dexter. In season 1, Debra has a rough morning and complains she cannot make it through the day without eating a breakfast burrito. The name stuck, a font was born and the result is Breakfast Burrito font. It is a tall, all caps typeface with a little twist.

The other day I discovered that, regrettably, I no longer am a Spring Chicken. Time flies when you’re making fonts… So, after I recovered from that shock, I created this font and called it Spring Chicken! Spring Chicken is a handmade cartoon-ish, script-ish, dunno-how-to-label-it-ish font. Use it and be rad.

Dudek is a highly functional font family. Styles from thin to black with italics for each one, allows to create wide and consistent design systems. I wanted Dudek to be soft and simple. Not too much geometrical, but also not calligraphic in detail. Dudek can help in every day jobs and wide multilingual support leaves no one behind.

Printing Set JNL by Jeff Levine comes from a toy rubber stamp printing set imported from Japan in the 1950s and 1960s that's been revived, but is now imported from China. The font has a serif letter so typical of import toys of the day, but actually reads quite nicely in short headlines and specialty ad copy.

Hand lettering found across the sheet music cover of 1931's "Bend Down, Sister" [from the Eddie Cantor film "Palmy Days"] covered a couple of varying Art Deco styles; both made with a round-tipped pen nib. Geronimo is a rough poster script done in the spirit of brush calligraphy experiments conducted by American calligrapher and historian, Professor Alexander Nesbitt. This particular approach to brush script uses a pointed brush. Although Nesbitt considered the pointed brush corruptive and not at all suited to present day western letter forms, he put forth that with enough control of the brush (keeping it upright, maintaining stroke evenness, etc) even an unexperienced letterer can easily draw current day letters, though the result will always show characteristics of the letterer's own handwriting. Geronimo is a great choice for entertainment design, like book covers, film poster and packaging, and CD inserts. It also is a great overall display design for anything that seeks to depict adventure or an environment with a rough human element. Many alternates are sprinkled throughout the font.

“Fanfare is such a fun typeface,” says Toshi Omagari, who revived the design for The Wolpe Collection. “It was my happiest discovery when I was digging through the Monotype archive. Looking back on my production to date, neither so little nor so large, it does not come as a surprise to find myself now introducing Lady René. A brief review of my career would read as follows: graphic designer graduated from Buenos Aires University, a 10-year professorship in Typography in the same institution, an illustrator in the making. For almost 15 years now my work has focused on the design of editorial pieces, predominantly books and CD sleeves. Typography proper has always been central to my research projects. All my obsessions eventually embodied as much the search for a perfect, spotless text as for a daring and provoking one. In my view, "how-to-say-something" ranks highest amongst a graphic designer’s responsibilities. It was in this vein that I called in the written word to illustrate, to draw, to narrate. Why not reverse the saying and proclaim that “a word is worth a thousand images”? If so, one single word could trigger endless meanings, associations, ideas, and memories in every reader’s mind. Language, we know, has a strong power and is a living expression of a culture. In my illustrations, letters and drawings reunite in one synergy said and unsaid, the finiteness of the message and the freedom of the free reading. And this is how and when, Lady René, my first born type font sees the light of day conceived out of a love of illustration and a reverence for the written word, recalling the whimsicality of the handmade drawing and reflecting its sensitive, warmth and spontaneity. Enabled by the characteristics of Open Type and the hard, outstanding work of designer Ale Paul, Lady René succeeds in composing texts in a simple, organic way by means of its contextual and stylistic alternates, swash characters, ligatures and connecting words. A bundle of decorative miscellanea completes the set of signs, enabling the user considerable freedom to create new typographic landscapes. Kapra Neue was the #1 bestselling Grotesque Sans released in 2017 on MyFonts. Kapra Neue is a younger brother of Kapra. This new family has refreshed proportions, rounded corners, and a new shape of glyphs. It is characterised by a wide range of instances – 24 new weights, from Thin Condensed to Black Expanded, allowing use of the family in complex ways, depending on the user’s needs. Every instance comes with its italic version. The font has a glyph set for latin script and old-style figures. Kapra Neue is inspired by a “You And Me Monthly” magazine, published by National Magazines Publisher RSW "Prasa” in Poland, from May 1960 till December 1973.

Cooper Goodtime is a font based on the lettering used on the CBS-TV variety series The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour (1969-1972). The name pays tribute to its two origins, the other being Cooper Black. It was never an actual complete font set on the TV show, only a limited number of handmade letters, all upper case. It has lain dormant since the show went off the air in 1972. With this incarnation, a set of lower case letters has been created to complement the upper case letters. These lower case letters never existed before now. Cooper Goodtime is a funky, nostalgic, cool way to create a display, and it works surprisingly well in text sizes, too.

Goth icon and Saturday Night Live voice-over talent, Nicole Blackman grew up surrounded by design; her dad and her sister are architects, her mom is a retired fashion designer and her grandfather invented clip art. “No lie, Volk Clip Art in NJ,” she says. “Herb Lubalin designed his logo!” Sharing her grandfather’s fondness for fonts, Ms. Blackman created this alphabet. Her creativity sparked this lanky lettering’s theatrical nature in all caps and its supple beauty in upper and lower cases. Final fontification and adjustments were done by Chank Diesel. Blackman drew the original art for the alphabet in 1997; the newest version of the font was completed in 2006. Enjoy this seductive and stylish hand-drawn font.
