As the name suggests, Goldie is an old-style serif typeface designed for striking headlines. Goldie has strong rounded serifs and a soft touch to it. It suits well to movie titles, novel covers, posters and so on, wherever you need a certain classic feeling and the font itself to act as an illustration. Goldie Old Style is easy to use to create nice strong headlines with character. In addition it’s equipped with 230 interlocking Discretionary Ligatures, Swash Alternates and a selection of common accented characters that are scaled down, so that they match the height of the rest of the font with the accent marks. Acklebury is a chunky, reverse contrast, slab-serif typeface available in two styles. It has heaps of personality, plenty of open type features, and a whole host of special characters and dingbats. Although it's drawn from historical sources, Acklebury is not a straight revival, rather more of an homage to the many, varied, extended lining figures of the late 1800's. Acklebury celebrates the once labelled 'hideous' combination of wide rounded forms and hard slab serifs. Only using modern type technology to fix the spacing and kerning issues that would of been impossible with metal or wooden type. Acklebury is not a French Clarendon, neither is it really an Italienne... but it is phat, wide and hella funky.

Zomsenso is an angular, semi-modular typeface that supports OpenType alternates. The angular part means that the entire* font uses only angular segments and shapes. The alternate glyph shapes are under Stylistic Set 01. This font includes Seven Segment display (U+E000 to U+E07F) and arbitrary fractions (U+E1nd, n=numerator; d=denominator) that are mapped to the Private Use Area, so users can easily insert them via Unicode input. As long as there’s been movie theaters, those establishments became the perfect hideaway for couples who wanted to kiss, hug and snuggle without the watchful eyes of disapproving parents or the pesky attention of younger siblings. Such was evident in the [13 word] title of the 1919 composition “Take Your Girlie to the Movies (If You Can’t Make Love at Home)”. On the sheet music for this song, it is hand lettered in the Art Nouveau fashion of the time by a round nib pen, and made a perfect candidate to be redrawn as a digital typeface. Dolsáb was designed from scratch with uniqueness in mind. The subtle movement from thick to thin and the variants of sharp to rounded make this cutting edge san serif a must have. The inspiration for Dolsab was a simple pairing of a rhombus and calligraphy. While neither of those two elements can be seen in their entirety in any instance, the influence of both is strong. The rhombus can be notice on most ascenders like on the lowercase t & l, for example. And the calligraphy inspiration is most easily captured on the descenders such as the lowercase y & g. The most beautiful characteristics of Dolsab is definitely the calligraphy-influenced movement. These features really stand out on the lowercase a & e. It's almost amusing to let your eye follow the contours of those two letter forms as they travel from thick to thin, sharp to rounded and back again. Users are welcomed to try all font styles of Dolsab in any applique of their choosing. However, it will be quickly noticeable that only Dolsab Air & Demi (the thiner of the styles) will be best suited for body copy. Personally I like to see these letterforms as large as they can be to really showcase the subtle movement, especially in Dolsab Heavy where these movements become much more dramatic. You'll never know what really works best unless you experiment. Dolsab surely isn't the answer to all projects, but it's certainly worth trying. No other typeface moves quite like Dolsáb.

This family was inspired by a Type Battle over at Typophile: How would you design a font metrically compatible with Helvetica, but better than Arial? Working with preset letter widths was an interesting constraint, both a relief and a limitation at the same time. I have done all the 4 basic weights, and the skewed obliques (done to a slightly less steep 10 degrees angle as opposed to the originals 12) has been optically adjusted. The letters have been designed quite close to the german/swiss grotesk tradition, but by using super-elliptical rounds, rounded dots and slightly curved outer diagonals the end result is a friendly looking font family that still looks... familiar. Built in 1930 - 1935 by Dutch architect Wolff Schoemaker, the Swarha Islamic Building was originally used as a lodging for the honoured guest country and the journalists for Asia-Africa Conference in 1955. This building has an important role as one of Bandung historical art deco heritage, with the art deco typefaces styles on it's singage in this building, giving it a more classic west and east taste. Wolff Schoemaker was trying to combine the elements between eastern and western culture in design. One of his works was the Swarha Islamic Building in a circular design with rounded and high dynamic angle. Unfortunately the Swarha Islamic Building has been abandoned and and less attentioned by the local people itself to preserve this historic building. So I'm trying to raise the value of the historical heritage by creating this typefaces. This typefaces was inspired by the Swarha Building characteristic itself with its solid construction and dynamic, by adding classic taste on each characters. Available in two styles, Neue and Rounded represents the classic architectural Swarha Islamic Building styles with tropical Bandung Art Deco taste. This typeface is highly usable as a display type for your designs, and will fit with movie titles, magazines, your classic shops logo and signage designs, or you can use this typefaces as your web pages headlines. The characters of this typefaces are only in uppercase style, but it built with small caps on the lowercase featured, and additional Opentype Features were loaded, some stylistic alternates, accessible catchwords in the discretionary ligatures, and standard ligatures.

At VetteLetters we like food but we also appreciate our drinks. Yes, of the non-alcoholic kind as well. Like milk. Contrary to what Arnold Schwartzenegger once said, Milk is not just for babies. It contains a whole lot of stuff that is genuinely good for you. Like proteins, carbohydrates, minerals (calcium a.o.) and many vitamins. One time visiting The Hague, Donald DBXL spotted a tile tableau on a brick wall, advertising a dairy factory called ‘De Sierkan’. Yellow sans serif letters on a bright blue background, dating back to the late 19th century, immediately grabbed DBXL’s attention. Especially because the tableau showed both regular and bold letters with some lovely peculiarities here and there. De Sierkan appeared to have been a milk factory solely operating in The Hague from 1879 until 1961. A number of these wall adverts are still to be seen in The Hague streets today. Photos were taken for later reference. Later is now, the lettering has been digitized, missing characters added, and VLNL Melk sees the light of day. VLNL Melk is an all-caps geometric display sans serif family of three weights, Regular, Bold and Black. The basic shape of the letters is a rectangle with rounded corners, leaving a sturdy no-nonsense look and feel. It has a distinct historic aura, but with both feet in this digital day and age. It can equally well be used for the logo of a hipster coffee place, as the cover of a historic novel. Actually, VLNL Melk kan be applied in a wide range of designs like logos, posters, flyers, book covers and magazine headlines.

I've been learning to read Cyrillic and Greek letters lately, mainly because I've been playing the game GeoGuessr. (If you haven't played it, I highly recommend! It plops you down somewhere in the world in Google Street View, and you have to figure out where you are.) Cyrillic shows up in so many more places than Russia! You can see it in Bulgaria, Mongolia, Serbia, Montenegro, Kyrgyzstan, and more. Because of that, I made sure to include a fun double-uppercase version of those alphabet sets in Sleepy Bear. They're styled the same way as the Latin characters: all uppercase height, with some lowercase-styled letters thrown in at that same height for a fun look for all ages. I've also made two weights of Sleepy Bear: a plump and smooth regular weight, and a lighter weight that's built to stack on top of the regular (though you can use it on its own). Just type out a word in Sleepy Bear, copy it, and then change the copy to Sleepy Bear Light. You'll get a great outline look in seconds!
