Museo... it all started with my love for the letter ‘U’. This uppercase letter just came to me as an image in a daydream. The top of both stems bent into semi-slab serifs. From this principle I worked out the rest of the uppercase letters. My first intention was to make it an all-caps display font, but after a while, I changed my mind. I wanted it to be a bit more versatile, so I decided to add lowercase and adjust spacing and kerning to increase legibility. This OpenType font family comes in five weights, and each weight comes with support for CE languages, even Esperanto. Besides ligatures, contextual alternatives, stylistic alternates, fractions and proportional/tabular figures, Museo has a ‘case’ feature for case-sensitive forms.

Houschka Rounded Alt is a carbon copy of the Houschka Rounded family with one key difference: the rounded signature glyphs A & W on the default positions swap places with their straight alternates. Houschka was named after Georg Houschka, a sadly defunct confectioner’s shop in Salzburg, Austria, which had a wonderful 1930s frontage and distinctively rounded letterforms in the sign above the door. Lewis F. Day, in his book Alphabets Old and New, offered this typeface as an example from sixteenth-century England of lettering incised in wood. Gears, designed by Janet Valdez of Janworx, was inspired by the popularity of steampunk artwork, for which gears and levers are a defining element. Gears is a single bold typeface, incorporating gears and levers into each glyph in one form or another. It is intended to be used at a large size, and works well in graphics with gradient finishes, textures, and bevels. Lower case letters are uniformly understated, whereas upper case are more elaborate. This typeface is suitable for posters, screen printing, or any general graphics work that requires short words or slogans with high-impact, particularly in a steampunk theme.

The name comes from a British expression about two things that couldn't be more different, and it suits this offering to a tee. The uppercase of this typeface is based on 1930s lettering by French poster artist Charles Loupot, and the lowercase is based on 1910s lettering by German plakatmeister Ludwig Hohlwein. Boldina consists of 18 fonts with a lot of personality. This is a font to be mixed. That’s its purpose and that’s why it's designed as one single weight in so many different styles. My intent was to give designers a chance to use the same typeface in many different ways, putting together sans and serif, lots of italics and even Greek, Cyrillic and CE characters. Matogrosso is another rough script from Argentine calligraphy team Koziupa and Paul. With its expressive urge at the importance of discovery, it is ideal to use on wine labels or organic food packaging, stationery and old maps. It also makes a great choice for designs relating to outdoor activities and rugged travel, where the concept of the wild is to be accentuated. Designed by Arthur Baker in 1994 for URW, Kigali is a wide-bodied display type with bold, uneven, pen-drawn strokes that taper dramatically downward.
