Elicit Script is a hybrid script family, that can be as casual or formal as the occasion demands. Created by Laura Worthington and Jim Wasco, the design is based on pointed pen Spencerian Script handwriting. “It’s like one of those German italics from the early 20th century, that have beautiful shapes that hold their own,” says Wasco. Elicit Script spans five weights, from Extra Light to Bold, and three styles – Formal, Normal and Casual. This makes it an incredibly versatile script design, easily paired with other typefaces and able to be dressed up or down, depending on what it’s used for. The monoline Casual style offers a more relaxed tone of voice, while Formal sits at the more decorative end of the spectrum. Designers can keep things straightforward, tidy and practical with the typeface’s simple caps, or add in swash caps if they need more exuberance and expression. When I released the original Organic in 2009, I was satisfied with it. It was what was possible from me and the technology at the time. The Organic Pro of 2021 takes those original desires of delivering a highly legible and friendly sans serif, and doubles down on those notions, while exploring what further infusing warmth in a highly structured sans serif can really do for a client. Free of distracting and potentially dating visual traits and cues that could be seen as endemic of a specific time period or ‘type trend’, Organic Pro is its own person—take it or leave it. Inviting warmth, assured reliability, and a head nod of confidence is what you walk away with—a stark contrast to the cold, impersonal geometrics and grotesques proliferating the design annuals currently. Tuscaloosa is a classic American 'Wild West' Tuscan typeface-we thought it would make a suitable Independence Day tribute to our many American clients. It's ideal for wherever that 'Western' feel is wanted. Posters, signage, the sides of stagecoaches etc... Three faces are offered, a pristine and sharp regular form, a somewhat distressed 'Rustic' face and the rather more distressed 'Extremely Rustic'. Umbilical Noose is a rather scary typeface. It is quite similar to an older font of mine: Nyctophobia. The name comes from a Nirvana song called Heart Shaped Box, in which Kurt Cobain sings: "throw down your umbilical noose, so I can climb right back". I have always liked that phrase a lot. Umbilical Noose is an all caps font, but upper and lower case are different and you can easily interchange the glyphs.

Gauche Display is a "tasteless and awkward" script font for those who don't exactly want sophistication in their typographic script usage. Er, um, uh..."inspired" by several script fonts (all of which look much, much prettier), you can't take your eyes off this font, much in the same way you can't stop looking at a trainwreck. In other words, it sucks on purpose and lives up (or down, take your pick) to its name.

The 52 characters assembled by this Gothic font, Prince of Darkness, were once interred in coffins onboard the Russian cargo ship Demeter, when it set sail for the sleepy shores of Whitby, Northern England ages ago. Hunted down by Vampire Hunters for century after century, this noble Transylvanian set has hidden for years in England and Eastern Europe. Now, Prince of Darkness is available as a font with more Layers than Dracula has Lairs.

This is not Hollywood. You may be surprised but I am not inspired by the famous Hollywood sign for this type but a grid on a roof of Barcelona. I walked down the street observing the architecture of buildings in the area of the Marina when I saw a grid on a roof. One of the workers put a board on them and the magic happen. I can’t remember when I had a true lazy morning.. I was a looong time ago, before I had children! Even now, when I’m down with the flu, I can’t stay in bed for too long - it really seems like a waste of time! Lazy Morning is a nice handwritten font. I made it with a Sharpie pen. It comes with all diacritics and double letter ligatures for you to play with.

In 1905 Berthold released an engraved blackletter font called Prinzess Kupferstichschrift. Based on an old printed remnant, I revived this beautiful open-face fraktur and enriched it with several OpenType features. As usual in my blackletter fonts, the round ‘s’ lies on the number sign key, and a traditional number sign can be accessed via the Discretionary Ligature feature and typing 'N-r-period'. In this font you have also the possibility to turn I, V, X, L, C, D, and M into Roman numerals by activating the Stylistic Alternates feature. And last but not least, various useful ligatures polish up this font.

The font was inspired by the persistent demands of editors for scripts which actually looked like real handwriting, a lot of historical fiction projects and a love of maps. While making a map for a prequel to Treasure Island I decided to make a font from the lettering of some Caribbean maps of the period. The glyphs are all hand drawn vector outlines which although very legible and consistent in style carry the variation and irregularity you expect from handwriting. This font has been featured on maps for books by authors such as Peter V. Brett, Mark Lawrence and Michael Crichton.

This set of initial letters was inspired from French renaissance decorated letters. It is a typical pattern, one among dozen quite similar, but this one was in use in Paris, unchanged, for centuries, and was still in use in the beginning of 1900s. This explains the difference between I and J, U and V. These characters were engraved years after the original set. Our font was inspired from a late 1800s publication. It can be used as well with Humane fonts (like our 1543 Humane Janson or 1592 GLC Garamond) as with modern fonts like our 1820 Modern or 1906 French News.

A completely square typeface. And wide. It is all futuristic and fast. I have redesigned the uppercase D (which was identical to the O), V and Y - and also a couple of the lowercase letters: a narrower r, a more identifiable t and f and weight corrections to the v, x and z. Godina was born from the interest in learning and deepening in the basic forms and how they are combined to compose a typographic system. The name, a tribute to the town of La Almunia de Doña Godina, the town for which the author of the typography connects. La Almunia is a crossroads in the typography designer's travels, a link between his family and friends. It combines the scent of a straight and modular typeface with sinuous and curved shapes, which make it a fun and playful typeface.

Cowboy Junk is my loose handmade impression of what would happen if the wild west crashed into grafitti! The letters are loose and jumpy and the terminals are kind of exaggerated to give that firce impression of handcraft! So, better get up early and leave this town, 'cos there’s only room for one sheriff in this here town, and that is Cowboy Junk!
