K-Type’s ‘Banks & Miles’ fonts are inspired by the geometric monoline lettering created for the British Post Office in 1970 by London design company Banks & Miles, a project initiated and supervised by partner John Miles, and which included ‘Double Line’ and ‘Single Line’ alphabets. The new digital typeface is a reworking and extension of both alphabets. Banks & Miles Double Line is provided in three weights – Light, Regular and Dark – variations achieved by adjusting the width of the inline. Banks & Miles Single Line develops the less used companion sans into a three weight family – Regular, Medium and Bold – each with an optically corrected oblique. Although the ‘Banks & Miles Double Line’ and ‘Banks & Miles Single Line’ fonts are based on the original Post Office letterforms, glyphs have been drawn from scratch and include numerous adjustments and impertinent alterations, such as narrowing the overly wide Z and shortening the leg of the K. Several disparities exist between the Post Office Double and Single Line styles, and K-Type has attempted to secure greater consistency between the two. For instance, a wide apex on the Double Line’s lowercase w is made pointed to match the uppercase W and the Single Line’s W/w. Also, the gently sloping hook of Single Line’s lowercase j is adopted for both families. The original Single Line’s R and k, which were incongruously simplified, are drawn in their more remarkable Double Line forms, and whilst the new Single Line fonts are modestly condensed where appropriate, rounded letters retain the essentially circular form of the Double Line. Many characters that were not part of the original project, such as @, ß, #, and currency symbols, have been designed afresh, and a full set of Latin Extended-A characters is included. The new fonts are a celebration of distinctive features like the delightful teardrop-shaped bowl of a,b,d,g,p and q, and a general level of elegance not always achieved by inline typefaces. The Post Office Double Line alphabet was used from the early 1970s, in different colours to denote the various parts of the Post Office business which included telecommunications, counter services and the Royal Mail. Even after the Post Office was split into separate businesses in the 1980s, Post Office Counters and Royal Mail continued use of the lettering, and a version can still be seen within the Royal Mail cruciform logo.

Spiraltwists is a family of 2 fonts giving assorted spiral shapes. In each font they're grouped in fours - the same basic spiral in 4 different orientations (N S E W almost), and Spiraltwists has solid lines making up the spirals, Spiraltwists Antique has dotted lines making up the spirals, giving them an antique or rustic appearance. Spiraltwists has heavier spirals on Upper Case, lighter spirals on lower case; plus a group of spirals with a straightened outer end and connecting lines so you get two spiral scrolls joined together by a long line at the top or bottom. (inputting UVWXYZ into the text-box on this webpage will show it). The big example on the webpage shows it all more clearly than any explanation. Please note: for the avoidance of doubt, the font does not contain any letters, the text in these 2 examples is not Spiraltwists but Luzaine.

Right now it is melon time: the supermarkets are full of them: Galia, Honey Dew, Piel de Sapo… Back in Casa Hanoded we're quite happy with the abundance of melons! So, when I created this cute little font, naming it was easy. Honey Dew is a shaky all caps font with different upper and lower case glyphs. I created alternate letters for both upper and lower case closed glyphs (like a, b, d, o, etc.) - including their accented brethren (aacute, abreve, acircumflex), etc. There is an alternate & and @, plus the Æ, Œ, Ø, æ, œ, ø, þ and Þ. You should have guessed by now that Honey Dew comes with a whole stack of diacritics.

Rebus Script is a fun, lively font that lets you create rebus puzzles by automatically replacing certain words or syllables with pictures. This family was inspired by the sets of fonts used in 1543 by Michael Isengrin, printer in Basel (Germany) to print the splendid New Kreüterbuch...(New herbal...), with numerous nice pictures, the masterpiece of Leonhart Fuchs, father of the modern botany. It is a Schwabacher pattern, with three different sets of fonts, small (± 4mm for the upper case) in the main text, larger for titles (± 8mm for the upper case) and large Initials or lettrines (five lines of main text). This font contains standard ligatures and German historical ligatures (German double s, long s, tz, ch,...) and diacritics (special umlaut "e superscript" and "∞" unstead of dieresis with letters a, o and u,) naturally, we have added numerous letters lacking in the original to permit a contemporary use of the font. It can be used in complement with 1538 Schwabacher or/and 1534 Fraktur.

Alegria is a font family for joyful communication. Sihmitree is a gimmick typeface in which all glyphs have reflective (mirror) or rotational symmetry (or both). Sihmitree has two weights and is caps only, with most of the lower-case letters identical to the upper-case letters. It includes only those accented characters that are symmetrical. The letters of the alphabet are often used to explain symmetry. BCDEK are given as examples of shapes that can easily be formed with symmetry over a horizontal line. AMQTUVWY can easily be formed so that they mirror over a vertical line. Letters HIOX can be formed so they mirror over both horizontal and vertical lines, and as a result they will also have rotational symmetry. Letters NSZ can be formed so that they reproduce themselves with a rotation of 180º. That leaves letters FGJLPR, which are usually considered examples of asymmetry. However, there are script versions of J, L, and R that can be formed with symmetry, and variants of lower-case f and g can be made that are symmetrical. P looks a lot like the thorn character. Some of the numbers also present challenges when trying to form them symmetrically. The symmetrical alphabet is not stylistically harmonious and has limited use other than as an exploration of symmetry.

Naïve Deco Sans is a layered sans serif handwritten font designed by Fanny Coulez and Julien Saurin in Paris. Our goal was to draw a font with finely irregular lines that give a human and whimsical feeling. It is available in two versions: double or triple lines. The font is also decomposed in three different parts that you can use to improve your designs with multiple colors, giving to the font a deco touch. Mukadua consists of two fonts: serif and script. Mukadua means "two-face", and so it can be used in a happy and fun concept, but still looks great in dark, horror, or scary concepts! Superfan like to be seen in large scales, for the slight roughness to appear, but has it's moments in small scales as well. Gazardiel is a decorative new script font with elaborate flourishes on the upper case characters, interlocking lower case and calligraphic-style weighting which creates a very attractive overall look. The upper case characters are quite complex, but still readable. It's an excellent font for invitations or other formal designs.

Goth icon and Saturday Night Live voice-over talent, Nicole Blackman grew up surrounded by design; her dad and her sister are architects, her mom is a retired fashion designer and her grandfather invented clip art. “No lie, Volk Clip Art in NJ,” she says. “Herb Lubalin designed his logo!” Sharing her grandfather’s fondness for fonts, Ms. Blackman created this alphabet. Her creativity sparked this lanky lettering’s theatrical nature in all caps and its supple beauty in upper and lower cases. Final fontification and adjustments were done by Chank Diesel.
