In 1903, the typeface family Alternate Gothic was developed for ATF (American Type Foundry) by Morris Fuller Benton. It was Benton’s intent to solve many diverse layout problems with the development of a narrow Sans with different width values. The Alternate Gothic enjoys great popularity to this day. Therefore, Elsner+Flake re-worked the typeface family, added all European fixed accents and complemented it with an Antique version.

Even though the phrase Art Nouveau originated in Paris at the shop of Siegfried Bing, the French preferred to call it Le style moderne. This very sinuous, very Art Nouveau typeface was designed by an E. Mulier around 1894, probably also in Paris. The organic, vine-like curve forms are frequently seen in the art of the period. Examples include the architecture of Victor Horta, the furniture of Henry van de Velde and the jewelry of Max Gradl. Mulier Moderne is an all-cap font with a full Western European character set plus ST and TH ligatures, an alternate ‘E’ and two glyphs of period printer’s cuts. Warning: do not use for extended text. Duh!

Futura is the fully developed prototype of the twentieth century Geometric Sanserif. The form is ancient, Greek capitals being inscribed by the Cretans twenty-five hundred years ago at the time of Pythagoras in the Gortyn Code, by the Imperial Romans, notably in the tomb of the Scipios, by classical revival architects in eighteenth century London, which formed the basis for Caslon’s first sanserif typeface in 1817. Some aspects of the Geometric sanserif survived in the flood of Gothics that followed, particularly in the work of Vincent Figgins. In 1927, stimulated by the Bauhaus experiments in geometric form and the Ludwig & Mayer typeface Erbar, Paul Renner sketched a set of Bauhaus forms; working from these, the professional letter design office at Bauer reinvented the sanserif based on strokes of even weight, perfect circles and isosceles triangles and brought the Universal Alphabet and Erbar to their definitive typographic form. Futura became the most popular sanserif of the middle years of the twentieth century. Ironically, given its generic past, Futura is the only typeface to have been granted registration under copyright as an original work of art, and, further irony, given the key part played by the Bauer letter design office, the full copyright belongs to Renner and his heirs. This decision in a Frankfurt court implies that a further small group of older typefaces may also be covered by copyright in Germany, particularly those designed for Stempel by Hermann Zapf. This situation appears to be limited to this small group of faces in this one country, although protection of designers’ rights in newer typefaces is now possible in France and Germany through legislation deriving from the 1973 Vienna Treaty for the protection of typefaces. Mergenthaler’s Spartan is a close copy of Futura; Ludlow’s Tempo is less close. Functional yet friendly, logical yet not overintellectual, German yet anti-Nazi... with hindsight the choice of Futura as Volkswagen’s ad font since the 1960s looks inevitable.

This is a revival font of a sixteenth century typeface. I kept this font as close as possible to the original letters, including the imperfections and irregularities, to preserve the look of antiquity. Some of the letters of the original sample were missing and had to be created from the available letters.

Skaryna 2017 Title is a revival of the original typeface designed and cut by Francisk Skaryna in 1517–1519. Skaryna 2017 Title is designed to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the original work by Francisk Skaryna (lat. Franciscus Scorina de Poloczko) — scientist and educator from Polotsk (current Belarus). The original designs contain only Cyrillic characters. So Latin and additional characters were added to make the legacy of Francisk available for the World. The revival was designed to stay close to the original and remain a little bit inaccurate as early Renaissance printing technologies were. This project was sponsored by Anton Bryl.

French Kiss is an expressive brush font that was drawn by hand on paper to ensure that it captured an intimate and personal quality. The texture of the brush has been left in, and can be seen when displayed at large sizes. French Kiss contains 28 alternates and ligatures for enhanced diversity and legibility. Unfortunately, the MyFonts display engine does not show the contextual alternates. Additionally, the entire font has been meticulously kerned, letter by letter to ensure a smooth flow, in spite of the expressiveness of the letters.

Ralf Herrmann, the designer of Wayfinding Sans, started this project with extensive field studies, driving tens of thousands of miles to explore the legibility of road signage typefaces in dozens of countries around the world. After building his own theoretical framework of relevant legibility parameters, the design process used a unique custom real-time simulation software, which could simulate difficult reading conditions (distance, fog, halation, positive/negative contrast) while the letters were actually being designed. This process made it possible to optimize even the tiniest details of each letter for maximum legibility. Being made specifically for wayfinding purposes, this type family does not compromise on any aspect of legibility — and yet, the typeface is a beautiful, clean and modern sans serif. With its broad language support and the large number of available styles it is perfectly suitable for any possible signage project anywhere in the world. In an independent empirical study at the University of Applied Sciences “htw” in Berlin different typefaces were recently tested when used on signs and Wayfinding Sans Pro was the winner in all conducted tests, being significantly more legible and therefore superior to all other styles of the tested typefaces. There are a lot of narrow passages... like the Straits of Gibraltar, Hormuz, of Malacca, of Thermopylae, the Dardanelles, the Dervenakion, Magellan, Rentina of Naruto, Kerch etc. I tried to pass into mine closely with the name «Artios Pro". Walking on the same considerations as the previous series (Khamai/Aeolus/Corset) I tried to give some sense of diversity for narrow passages of the letters. These twelve style are the result. And here, the "Rail" engage with "Semi Bold" in the same way as the previous series. This series is composed and includes 12 fonts with 625 glyphs each, with true italics and supports Latin, Greek and Cyrillic.

Mixta is a contemporary serif typeface with characteristic and defined features. This font was inspired by the idea of mixing different types of terminals in order to give the font a singular appearance. Its design is composed of diverse styles such as Didone and contemporary faces. You can create unique designs by combining any of the upright weights with matching italics. Originally I wanted to call this font Chewy Caramel, because I love caramel. But that name was already taken, so I deleted two letters in the name and ended up with Chewy Camel instead. I know that the designer of Chewy Caramel don’t mind - because that is my good friend, David, who made that one! :) Chewy Camel was made with a slightly blurry and inky pen, and is suitable for most things that need a true organic hand lettered font. I have added 6 slightly different versions of each letter, and there is multilingual support as well

Evergreen is Koziupa and Paul going all Zeitgeist after a few Malbec drinks. Two fonts praise nature from when the lights go out to the crack of dawn, and vice versa. That's 24/7/365 of wild leafy Kumbaya. Even butterflies and flowers were mystified so much they had to get in there. Evergreen is local, organic, and certified free trade. At some point we wrote down the name of the jungle where it originated, then lost the parchment in the hot springs a few hours later. But that's immaterial.
