A 1942 menu cover for the restaurant at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles features its name in a stylized Art Deco serif design. This is has been turned into the digital typeface Bill of Fare JNL, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Masoud Nejabati has drawn upon his capable calligraphic skills to create this typeface. Persia represents his first latin-based design. This gentle and finely rendered script reveals Nejabati's extensive background in Islamic calligraphic art. The slight back slant further enhances the appearance of hand-scribed pen calligraphy.

Mineola got tired of being like all the other serifed fonts, got some hip body art, and moved to the cool part of town. But every so often, when no one's watching, Mineola puts on a light blue oxford shirt and listens to top 40 radio.

This came from a shop near Munich, Germany, and was a very poor proof with no font name on it. Never did identify it. When we cleaned it up, we liked it pretty well. We think it is typical of some early twentieth century art nouveau fonts.

Inside the pages of the August, 1930 issue of “The New Movie Magazine” is an ad for Warner Brothers-First National Pictures – hand lettered in a bold Art Deco sans. This was the basis for Movie Production JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Inspired by the old Stephenson Blake Caps only font Algerian from 1908, this version, named Algerian Mesa, has been freshened up with a new matching lowercase. The original Algerian, on page 142 of the 1908 Stephenson Blake specimen book, was a small caps to a more decorative lining caps and the plain black version, without the shadow line, was named Gloria. Also on page 142 of the 1908 Stephenson Blake specimen book is a shaded Latin font that gave me the idea for the Alt version of Algerian Mesa. The Alt version works well at smaller point sizes combined with the regular Algerian Mesa font on the same page. New for 2016 were Opentype features including original alternates, oldstyle numerals and case sensitive forms, also new is a fully usable Alt version. New for 2022 are the higher x-height, 90% small caps, 80% small caps and all new italic versions. Also new for 2022 are straight sided accent marks replacing the flared or curved accents. While Algerian Mesa includes some alternates our related Tavern font will still remain the version with more alternates and more weights.

Strait passages second part… I tried in this fifth (that's why she took the name "Pentathlon Pro”) consecutive font family to give her a character style with again a strait way of writing. Walking on the same considerations as the previous series (Khamai, Aeolus, Corset & Artios) I tried to give some sense of diversity for the strait passages of character: those fourteen style are the result. And in this family, the “Bold” with "Inlier" and “Bold Italic” with "Inlier Italic” engage in the same way as did the “Layered font families” in the previous series. Also I added a design statement for the twelve zodiac signs, only presented in the Bold, Inlier, Bold Italic and Inlier Italic style. This series is composed of fourteen styles with 628 glyphs each, with true italics and supports Latin, Greek and Cyrillic.

Six Hands is a set of handwritten fonts based on various writing tools, such as pencil, felt-tip pen, ball-point pen, and brush. The character set of each of these fonts supports the Cyrillic alphabet, as well as the extended Latin script for all European languages. Most of the styles also contain additional alternatives that have the capability of automatically interchanging in the setting, which significantly variegates and humanizes the text. LFT Etica, the-moralist-typefamily-project, was born at the end of 2000, but its development is ongoing, overcoming many hurdles and diversions. The starting point for the designers at Leftloft were the common "cold" grotesk sans serifs, ubiquitous and often badly applied in their everyday visual environment. The challenge was to obtain the same force, versatility and color, but with a much warmer feel. The resulting design has soft strokes, open counters and terminals; aesthetically resting somewhere between a grotesque and humanist sans serif.
