  21. Cassia by Hoftype, $49.00
Cassia - a dynamic ‘Egyptienne’ with contrasting Italics and a classical appearance. More individual and agile and less cold than most Slab Serifs, it joins impetuosity with vitality. In display sizes it dazzles through its lusty appearance, and, even in the smallest sizes, it works superbly for large amounts of text. Cassia comes in ten styles, in OpenType format and with extended language support for more than 40 languages. All weights contain small caps, standard and discretional ligatures, proportional lining figures, tabular lining figures, proportional old style figures, lining old style figures, matching currency symbols, fraction- and scientific numerals.
  22. Pistol Twelve JNL by Jeff Levine, $29.00
Pistol Twelve JNL is a novelty version of Jeff Levine's Twelve Oaks JNL wood type font, with the addition of random bullet holes in the upper case characters. The font design was suggested by fellow type designer Ray Larabie. Pistol Twelve JNL is a two-fold pun. Initially, this conveys the obvious fact that the design is a variation of Twelve Oaks JNL with bullet holes... but the name is also a play on an old, old joke. One person asks the other: "Would you care to join the Pistol Club? You drink 'til twelve and..." Well, you get the picture!
  23. Praxis by Linotype, $29.99
Praxis™ was designed in 1976 by Gerard Unger for the German technology corporation Dr.-Ing Rudolf Hell. Praxis is the sans serif counterpart to Demos, another early digital type designed by Unger, who is an accomplished Dutch typographer and teacher. Praxis and Demos share important characteristics, such as open counters, a tall x-height, and blunt stroke terminations. Both faces have very little thick/thin variation, which facilitates smooth linear enlargement and reduction. And like Demos, Praxis is a flexible and legible typeface that works well in small point sizes and on low-quality paper (office documents, newsletters, newspapers, etc.). The word "Praxis" comes from Greek, and means "a practical application." In the late 1990s, Demos and Praxis, along with Univers 57, were selected as the official typefaces of the German Government. More info. In 1990, Linotype AG merged with Dr.-Ing Rudolf Hell GmbH, forming the Linotype-Hell AG (today Linotype GmbH). Since then, Linotype has been the official source of all fonts that were originally designed for the Hell Corporation. Linotype has also improved the typefaces using new technologies, including OpenType."
  24. Sagrantino by Monotype, $50.99
Sagrantino™ shines at large sizes – and in vibrant colors. Think big posters, commanding headlines, massive banners and oversized packaging. Set headlines in the Highlight or Shadow designs and running copy in the Regular – all on the same page! Sagrantino could be called the Lava Lamp of fonts. It’s slick, glossy, retro and futuristic. Somehow, it’s fresh and quirky-classic at the same time. This is a design that challenges you to think outside the text box. In fact, Sagrantino is so lively, it took three Monotype typeface designers, Karl Leuthold, Juan Villanueva and Carl Crossgrove, to draw it. Because it’s a script, Sagrantino pairs perfectly with just about any other design – except another script. Maintain the futuristic retro vibe by combining Sagrantino with a typeface like Biome™ or Neo™ Tech. Looking for a counterpoint? Try a cool sans like Avenir® Next or Univers® Next. OpenType® Pro fonts of Sagrantino enable automatic insertions from a crowd of fancy ligatures and delightful alternate characters – in addition to offering an extended character set supporting most Central European and many Eastern European languages.
