Online auctions continue to be a surprising wealth of font design inspiration. In this instance, a number of silk embroidered Art Deco initials inside inverted triangles inspired Deco Pennant Initials JNL. The uppercase version is white lettering on a black background – similar to the originals. On the lowercase keys is a set of initials that are black on white with a black border. Since the inverted triangles resemble pennants, there’s a solid black blank on the left parenthesis key and a outlined blank one on the right parenthesis key. In this way, the initials could be used for monograms or interspersed with the blanks to form short banner messages.

Dez Yinznat Stencil is a condensed stencil sans serif inspired by the industrial city of Pittsburgh, PA USA. Stencil type was often used in the steel mills, scrap metal yards, railroads, warehouses, and other industrial institutions of Pittsburgh and is almost a signature for the City. The name comes from combining two colloquial expressions common to Pittsburgh. “Yinz” is used there like "Y'all" is used in Southern States. "n'at" or sometimes "N@" is used to replace “and that” when ending a phrase. This font is dedicated to the hard-working people who made Pittsburgh what it is, N@. High-tech subjects can also find a friend in Dez Yinz'nat.

Winter Garden JNL was modeled from the eccentric sans serif hand lettering with varying line widths found on the sheet music of 1917's "When the Girl You'd Give the World to Win Gives Her Heart to You". (It seems that sheet music from the early 1900s often had song titles that were more than just a few choice words. This particular ditty's title took up fourteen words to make its point.) The font is available in regular and oblique versions and gets its name from both the famed theater in New York and the city located 14 miles West of downtown Orlando, Florida.

Aztek emerged as a custom face for an ethno-music festival, and gradually developed a more robust, geometric base. The original ethno roots can still be seen in some of the alternative caps, and the ease with which Aztek forms decorative elements and borders. There is also an alternative “Tall Caps” set, that goes alongside normal uppercase characters as if they were Small Caps. The font features Latin (extended to support German and Polish) and Сyrillic character sets. Though Aztek is an accidental face designed primarily for display work, it holds well at smaller sizes and can endure high ink gain printing found in letterpress and silk-screen processes.

Austrian Cartoonist Wolfgang Ammer lent his handwriting to this font, which was produced by Miriam Surányi. Wolfgang already uses the font in his daily routine: It facilitates corrections and translations of his cartoons for international newspapers. Rich in contextual alternates, Ammer contains about 1800 glyphs. Each character has multiple alternates. And a complex OpenType substitution feature makes sure that the same variant does not appear twice in a line. As a special gimmick, the font contains a Tic Tac Toe game: To activate it, type a # and turn on stylistic set 20. Then use digits 1–9 for setting the naughts and crosses on their places. The enclosed TT variant has a reduced glyph set and therefore a smaller file size, hence it is better suited for use on the web.

Yink takes big, bulbous, ball terminals up a notch, by repeating the shapes not only in the black but in the white space too. This interplay between black and white shapes is reminiscent of the yinyang symbol in places, which is where the name Yink originates. It's a shamelessly over-the-top font, and should be set large. An offbeat alternate caps typestyle inspired by the title screen of a 1968 Walt Disney film titled, The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit. This playful and childish font comes with an extensive language set, a stylistic alternates feature that auto-alternates between capitals & lowercase (alt caps), as well as a contextual alternates feature that auto-alternates between sets only where double characters are typed like SS, TT, etc. The contextual alternate feature also enables a few titling word options like " the " " in " and " in the ". As noted in the quotes, when these word sets are typed with a space before and after them, it will trigger the swap when contextual alternates is on. Switching on Contextual Alternates enables automatic alternations between caps and alt caps like AlTeRnAtIoNs to create a more randomized look.

Proto-Sinaitic (also referred to as Proto-Canaanite when found in Canaan, or Early Alphabetic) is found in a small corpus of c. 40 inscriptions and fragments, the vast majority from Serabit el-Khadim in the Sinai Peninsula, dating to the Middle Bronze Age. They are considered the earliest trace of alphabetic writing and the common ancestor of both the Ancient South Arabian script and the Phoenician alphabet, which led to many modern alphabets including the Greek alphabet. According to common theory, Canaanites or Hyksos who spoke a Canaanite language repurposed Egyptian hieroglyphs to construct a different script. The earliest Proto-Sinaitic inscriptions are mostly dated to between the mid-19th (early date) and the mid-16th (late date) century BC.

Barnsley Gothic is a condensed sans serif font family. It was designed by Steve Jackaman (ITF) in 2017. It was developed alongside its sister font family, Steelplate Gothic Pro, and includes support for Latin 1 and Central/Eastern European languages. The family is named after the town of Barnsley, a coal mining town in Yorkshire, England. In 1960, there were roughly seventy collieries within a fifteen-mile radius of Barnsley town center, however the last of these closed in 1994. Barnsley Gothic has a straightforward, industrious, no-nonsense feel, much like the town it shares a name with. Always ready to do the heavy lifting in any design project, Barnsley Gothic is the quintessential workhorse font family.

Stencil Round Ends, is just that, a stencil typeface with rounded terminations to each line rather than the squared terminations found in your typical stencil font. This design was developed while designing a typeface for engraving. The end mill tools used to engrave a font are round, thus the lines will all end with a rounded edge. While designing the engraving font I also designed this font to make sure that the single line version will have the desired aesthetic. Unlike many stencil fonts that have a limited range of glyphs I made this to contain the majority of letters, accents, ligatures, and mathematic symbols commonly used in most latin based languages.

My Left Hand is exactly what it is...well, not my actual flesh-and-blood left hand but my actual handwriting, and I know that it really is My Left Hand because people tell me all the time, "You're left-handed!" When I hear people say that, it always reassures me that I am left-handed, in case I am ever doubtful about it. Five of the last eight U.S. presidents have been left-handed, so we're in good company, no matter which political party you're a fan of. Rollerscript is, in effect, a more modern version of Olicana whose letterforms were drafted using a nibbed pen and ink. Handwriting tends to change depending on what instrument you're using and with Rollerscript the outcome is decidedly more casual and informal than Olicana, though equally realistic. Pronounced pressure points where characters start, end or join make for a very authentic hand drawn appearance which is enhanced still further through the use of over 100 standard ligatures. Character pairings like ‘tt’ or ‘gg’ in normal handwriting fonts never look natural but in Rollerscript will now automatically change as you type! Rollerscript’s handwriting credentials are given a further boost with the inclusion of multiple underlines and sketched icons, arrows and emoticons. Gothic Tuscan One is a all-cap condensed gothic with round terminals and decorative “tuscan” center spurs. It was first shown by William H. Page of Norwich, Connecticut among his wood type specimen pages of 1859. Gothic Tuscan One exemplifies the strength of decorative wood types: large, simple type forms that provide the visual boldness sought by advertisers of the Victorian period. While our marketing has gotten so very sophisticated, there is always a place for simple, visually strong typeface. Although about 14 miles inland, Norwich lies at the head of the Thames River. The river is both wide and deep, and therefore was not bridged in the early 20th century. From the 17th century until then, if you wanted to get from Groton on the west bank to the whaling port of New London on the east bank by land, you had to had to go by way of Norwich. Because of its size, the Thames is navigable all the way from Norwich to New London. Docks were built in Norwich around 1685 and the city became Connecticut’s 2nd largest port by 1800. With the construction of the Norwich & Worcester Railroad in 1835, Page could easily ship his wood type north by rail or south by coastal schooner. Included with our font, Gothic Tuscan One, are two 19th century printer’s ornaments of sailing ships similar to those that sailed up the Thames to Norwich. There is also a more contemporary glyph of a whale, looking quite pleased that the only whaling ship left in Connecticut is the Charles W. Morgan, permanently moored at Mystic Seaport.
