FF Kievit Slab is an industrial strength, do anything, go anywhere, kind of design. Its exceptional legibility and straightforward strength contrasts with a friendly humanistic underpinning. Michael Abbink and Paul van der Laan carefully revised character shapes and stroke contrast of FF Kievit, when they adapted them to FF Kievit Slab. Minnak, as a whole geometric display type is our take on Square Kufic (Makili) style Latin script fonts, comes in eleven weights with linear progression. It is an Uniwidth typeface at the core. From Hairline to Black, all multiplexed weights take up the same space in width and can be used interchangeably. Supports wide range of Open Type features, with many stylistic alternates in 12 context. Minnak is also have a close relation with pixel fonts, because in spite of its based on Makili forms, it all started as a pixel font in the drawing stage before further steps came into play. The key difference between Minnak and Makili style is that the latter must have the exact square counters with no diagonal strokes, and any other components of a letterform must conform to be proportional. Such style-specific requirements determine the overall dimensions of the glyphs and therefore, there can be only minor differences between the typefaces. In Minnak, counters are rectangular because of its narrow and condensed proportions, but the Makili form influence is still manifest. This impression is best confirmed with Medium weight where negative spaces and stem thickness are equal. Contrast and virtually no optical correction were presented, as characteristic of its genre had to have equal horizontal and vertical line thicknesses. As per the minimal and authentic look of the type, all glyphs are drawn as straight or only as 45-degree diagonal strokes. The representation of the ‘diagonalless’ approach is preserved by stylistic alternatives, making its similarity in visual aesthetics clearly visible. Marks and punctuation is another feature that doesn’t follow the strict rules of the origin style. Although not a pixel font, all building parts of the glyphs in Minnak share the same unit precision as they are designed with pixel equivalents in mind. Even space characters are designed to match glyph widths, meeting the demands of certain typesetting or multi-line lettering compositions. With its Pseudo Ancient and Runic alternates, extention parts and ornaments included in all weights, Minnak is suitable for branding, logo and monogram designs, the screen titles and headlines, packaging, posters, book covers and more, where it shines at big sizes. Its pixel font-like appearance makes it a significant choice for the modern compositions. Thanks to mostly uniform width design, it is possible to use Minnak also as a system for lettering. This feature can be used as vertical fitting of the letters between the lines. As a casual expression in Turkish, “Minnak” is one of the seven typeface designs in Esintype's ancient scripts of Anatolia project, Tituli Anatolian series — representing Seljuk period in the medieval Anatolia and their tradition of architectural stone ornamentation.

Linotype Scrap is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the entries of the Linotype-sponsored International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. The font is available in two weights and was designed by German artist Ingo Preuss. It is as though the forms of the basic weight were cut with scissors out of pieces of paper. There are no inner contours, only the outer silhouettes. The capital letters which make up Scrap Bonus are set on black rectangular backgrounds and are white and framed with a white contour. This weight includes a number of different pictograms which were also not spared the scissors. The decorative Linotype Scrap embodies the comic style of the 1990s and is meant exclusively for headlines of points sizes 18 and larger.

Qonora is an innovative new sans-serif text face that combines flowing, almost calligraphic strokes with a post-modern sensibility for a look that works as well on the printed page as it does on screen. Its comfortable proportions and no-nonsense streamlining (note the lack of spurs, serifs or any unnecessary ornamentation) make it an excellent choice for legibility even at very small point sizes. Qonora includes a true italic, drawn independently from the Roman. Strokes for the italic have been re-weighted to complement the Roman, and idiosyncratic italic glyphs have been substituted where appropriate. The typeface’s extensive Hebrew implementation (including diacritics and cantillation marks) is an important part of its character. The Latin, Cyrillic and Greek ranges of the face maintain a consistent ethic of form and function.

Streetscript Redux is an update to the now discontinued Streetscript. In the original version, it seems a lot of users didn't like the s’s in the font, and after seeing them redrawn (not always with the best results!) a few times, I decided to make a new version of the font with less idiosyncratic s’s, and this is the result, Streetscript Redux. (I should have listened to my other half - “those s’s look like fives,” she said) All other features of the original Streetscript are intact (barring a couple of s-ligatures no longer necessary). There’s been a little tweaking of some outlines, and slight changes with spacing too, but for the most part, all I've done is redraw those pesky five-like s’s, so that you don't have to.

ITC Cyberkugel is the work of British designer Timothy Donaldson, who occasionally likes to write with an extra-fine ballpoint pen. I like the spindly scrawny forms that it gives me when I follow all the usual 'italic' writing conventions", he says. And there lie the origins of ITC Cyberkugel, although the creative process was moved from pen and paper to software and a Wacom tablet. "I like the fact that people will be buying it to give them a 'human', 'organic', 'non-digital' look, and yet no ink has soiled paper. Although the movements of the hand are still the essence, the whole thing was created in cyberspace." The name comes from combining cyberspace and Kugelschreiber, the German word for ballpoint pen. ITC Cyberkugel is a fresh interpretation of traditional calligraphy."

The original typeface was designed by Albert Kapr between 1971 and 1973 for Typoart in Dresden. Kapr was the font designer and teacher as well as book author on type design of former East Germany. He also was an expert on this kind of type design, and thus, it is no surprise that he created Leipziger Antiqua, a design combining features of both Latin and broken scripts. The result is a stunning and unique gem from earlier times although it does not come along too distinguished or artsy. The digital version of Leipziger Antiqua was developed by Ralph M. Unger exclusively for profonts in 2005. During the work, Unger fell so deeply in love with this typeface that he couldn't help but add an expert font with small caps etc.

Arnold Therhoernen. (Arnoldus ther Hornen, Drucker des Dictys , Arnold ter Hoernen, Arnold ther Hoernen, Arnoldus TherHornen.) Who was this guy? He was a printer active in the city of Cologne, having graduating from the university there. He learned his craft under Ulrich Zell. He printed books from 1470 to 1482 when the plague carried him off. Was he just another printer of the era? No, he brought out the first edition of the "Fasciculus temporum'' (The most popular work by a living author at that time.) And he was the first to use both a title page and page numbers. His page numbers, an idea probably suggested to him by Werner Rolevinck, were interesting in that they were centered half way down the page on the outer margin and were set in Roman Numerals.
