Landry Gothic is inspired by a wood type alphabet by an unknown designer. It was digitized in order to make prop signage for movies and television. Its imperfect lines and rounded corners are meant to capture the feeling of real wood or metal type that's worn from use.

Designed by Ernst Lauschke in 1888 and issued by Barnhart Bros. & Spindler foundry in Chicago under the name Dormer. It was revived in 1923 by the foundry with a new name, Pekin. We have "regularized" the face for modern use, but have included the changed characters as alternates.

Unearthed by our friend Dimitris Karaiskos in an antique shop in Vienna, we digitized it and added more glyphs. Blitzplakat is the name of this pre-Letraset system, where you could make your own little advertising posters by cutting out these letters and sticking them on paper like stamps.

Neues Bauen is a Bauhaus inspired font with some interesting glyphs. It is slightly rounded in places, but sharp in others and it will most certainly make your designs stand out. Neues Bauen in other words, like the style that emerged in pre-war Germany, is a statement.

This typeface was inspired by Gering and Remboldt's work during the late 1490s. Their printing concern, the Soleil d'or in Paris, was one of the printing business to engage in the use of blackletter printing, when the rest of the Parisian printers where using humanist influenced roman typefaces. This peculiar backwards trend was really one of the original examples of "retro", taking advantage of the desires of the more conservative northern Europe that had not yet embraced the newer roman types.

And now something completely different. Keks has broken elements like a blackletter typeface, but the actual forms are roman. That keeps it very legible although there is no curve at all. What was the inspiration for designing the font? Blackletter has an interesting history here in Germany. We need to find contemporary interpretations for this tradition. Shortly after the preparation of the original Century, the two Bentons (father Linn Boyd and son Morris Fuller) prepared a wider version for De Vinne’s press and called it Century Broadface. In 1900 ATF released the design for general use as Century Expanded, one of the most popular and effective of typefaces, to this day the text face of the New York Daily News.

Calligraphic font born from mixing chancery cursive strokes with some copperplate gestures. Kyrenia is the italic counterpart of Agony TTW. Ad Lib designed by Freeman Craw for the American Type Founders (ATF) in 1961. A bold Grotesque with irregular rectangular counters in round characters. This type was designed by cutting the letter images out and thus has some wood-cut character. Some lower case characters have slight inclination. Initially numerous alternative characters were provided. Unusual shapes make this typeface useful for advertising and display work.

This is an American face designed by Lucian Bernhard for ATF in 1929. An extra light face with tall ascenders and stylized bars that extend off to the left.
