Italiko is a calligraphic font. The letters have been hand-drawn individually to extract the common strokes. The strokes have then been re-composed to give the font a more unified appearance. It comes in Black, Bold, Regular, and Thin. The Thin version is different as the extreme contrast in the font makes the thinner lines disappear. It is likely best used as a display font. 1977 was a good year for soccer. Attendance for the North American Soccer League (NASL) grew 33%, to 13,000 per game. Brazillian soccer legend Pelé played his final match, kicking for both the New York Cosmos and Santos of Brazil. And a soccerboy named Charlie was crowned with the nickname Chanky. In honor of his soccer hero Pelé, Charlie insisted the neighbor kids call him Chelé. They laughed at him and called him Chanky after Spanky from the Little Rascals. As he grew into his manhood, he became Chank the internationally renowned font designer. Chank created this font Soccerboy, as filtered through the artistic eyes of his 1977 childhood. It's a tri-line font, hand-drawn in Chank's signature cartoon whimsy. Soccerboy encourages play with color and alternate characters. Where the heck does a name like Chaloops come from? You know that Chihuahua that used to sell the tacos? Chank's mother-in-law calls him Chalupa. And the American pluralization for that must be Chaloops, because that's her nickname for her two little spoiled fuzzball dogs. Another comic variation on Chank's whimsical handwriting, Chaloops is bouncy, quirky, and light-hearted like the Chauncy fonts. The 1928 logotype for Sertal Toiletries consisted of a stylized woman's head, a very snaky S, and five fine, fat deco caps spelling out the rest of the brand name. From these five clues, designer Nick Curtis divined the rules" of the typeface and drew a complete alphabet, including a lower case. The result: ITC Scram Gravy. The finished product could be described as Bodoni on steroids. Tight curls in characters like the 'm,' 'r' and 'y' soften the lower case and give the design a light-hearted flavor. ITC Scram Gravy takes its name from one of many running gags in the screwball comic strip "Smokey Stover," which had folks alternately splitting their sides and scratching their heads from 1935 to 1973. Those familiar with Bill Holman's strip will recall Smokey's car, the Foomobile, and one of his famous nonsense declarations: "No foo-ling, that scram gravy ain't wavy.""

Cornelius is a playful hand-drawn font family designed by Daniel Bak (Artcity). It is available in three handy weights: regular, bold and screaming. It contains international language accent marks and diacriticals, including Greek and Cyrillic in both OTF and TTF formats. Font family name is inspired by the main male ape character from the 1968 science fiction film Planet of the Apes and Pierre Boulle novel of the same name. Bigticy is a typeface with a "new-retro" feeling. Its square outline is tempered by rounded angles. This makes it suitable for a large range of applications in the domains of magazine headlines and posters. The Narrow version has been drawn from a title found in an example (dated from the 50's) of the French newspaper "Le Dauphiné Libéré". For the Maxi style, I have tried to reduce to their minimum the inner white spaces. I had in mind those amazing stone walls that one can see in the antique Inca cities in Peru. The stones are so tightly joined that it is impossible to slip a sheet of paper between them. The Plain version is an interpolation of the two other ones. It is a very useful style since I keeps the main quality of each parent: the weight of the Maxi and the narrowness of the Narrow.

The project originates from the pre-coronavirus tourist trips to Italy, during which our art director Yulia Gonina has accumulated many photographs of historical inscriptions and tablets. Many of these inscriptions had interesting character or unusual character shapes. We wanted to work with them, to try to reinterpret them, and, if possible, make them ultramodern and accessible to the modern font user. The fonts from the TT Ricordi typeface turned out to be quite display and contemporary, but at the same time, they retained subtle references to historic inscriptions. The fonts fit perfectly both on the covers of book classics and in glossy magazine layouts. They can also be used in posters and packaging, or as the main expressive element of company branding. In addition, all three serifs from the TT Ricordi font family go well with functional sans-serifs such as TT Norms Pro or TT Commons. TT Ricordi Nobili is a display serif with a rich Roman ancestry and contemporary world views. It stands out from the crowd with its subtlety and elegance. The font was drawn by Anna Tikhonova and was inspired by an inscription carved into the stone floor of a cathedral in Florence. As the font was pulled into “contemporaneity”, it was completely transformed and revealed its new side. The main catchy detail in the TT Ricordi Fulmini is the aggressive and rather sharp diagonal serifs. In addition, in the process of working on the font, several graphic solutions emerged, for example, the mono-serifs and the very calligraphic connections of diagonal strokes with their historic spirit.
