MFC Nadall Medieval was originally designed by Bernard William "Berne" Nadall for Barnhardt Brothers & Spindler back in 1885 under the name "Faust Text" and later under the "Missal Text Series". While you could use its capitals to construct an initial monogram, this is not a monogram font, but instead a fully functional typeface for invitations and period lettering. This lettering style has been precisely recreated and expanded on to create a full typeface with a small collection of ligatures. Cruickshank is a decorative typeface from the late Victorian period. The upper case includes several letters with swash strokes, extending well below the baseline, as found in the original design. Alternatives to the swash caps are provided. The lower case contains small caps of simpler design. The face was designed by William W. Jackson and released by MacKellar, Smiths and Jordan Type Foundry of Samson Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1886. MS&J was founded originally as Binny & Ronaldson in 1796 and later known as The Johnson Type Foundry. Cruickshank has a strong late Victorian flavor without the extravagance of so many fonts of the period. In its simplicity and clarity, it may be seen as a precursor to the Art Nouveau style that would develop a decade later.

Newly revised and neatly digitalized by Ingo Zimmermann In 1902, Peter Behrens (1869–1940), architect, designer and typographer, created a new ”German“ type which became very successful very quickly for the Rudhard’sche Gießerei (foundry which later became Gebr. Klingspor AG) in Offenbach am Main. It served, for example, as the official German type for the world expositions in 1904 and 1910. Behrens himself writes about the development of this type ”...For the actual form of my type, I took the technical principle of the Gothic script, the stroke of the quill feather. The proportions of height and width and the boldness of the strokes of the Gothic letters were also decisive for me in producing a German character. A cohesive character could be hoped for by avoiding all non-necessities and by strictly carrying out the design principle of holding the quill at an angle…“ By the way, when “long s” is activated, the typographically correct “round s” is automatically placed at the end of the word so that you need only pay attention to the correct s on syllable endings within words. When using “long s,” you must ensure the correct use of the rules for the Fraktur font: “round s” is always at the end of the word, also in compound words. Seasons Greetings is intended to bring Christmas cheer. It has a very limited character set, with all the letters being lower-case. One set of letters is white on black Christmas balls, while the other is black on white Christmas balls. The lower-case letters can be layered on top of the upper-case letters to give bi-colored lettering. The letters on the Christmas ornaments are from the typeface Cuthbert.

Edelgotisch is a bold Jugendstil design that shows its strong blackletter roots. This typeface, along with a set of initial letters, was released by Schelter & Giesecke of Leipzig, Germany about 1898 and is very similar to Eckmann-Schrift released by Rudhard'schen Giesserie (later Klingspor) during the same period. One suspects they may have been in direct competition. The decorative devises of the initial letters for Edelgotisch have a simpler, bolder line than for Eckmann. In the initial letter set, the ligatures aesc (AE) and ethel (OE) were generated by embedding the ‘A’ and ‘O’ respectively inside the upper left corner of the ‘E.’ The accented caps were given similar treatment, with the exception of the cedilla. Regarding the I-diaeresis, we considered rotating the accent ninety degrees to avoid and possible misconstruction. On further reflection however, we realized it was silly and unnecessary. No one would look at the accented letterform and see anything but what it is. We have also included four decorative ornaments and a frame with each font.

Julia Child once said: the secret to great french cooking is butter, butter, butter. Thus, we present to you Manteiga - butter in Portuguese! - a typeface for heart-melting, word-spreading goodness. The idea we had was to play with brush lettering - a style we love - and go as far as we can with the shapes of the letters while finding balance between positive and negative space. We wanted biiiig personality. And small inconsistencies - the ones that add texture and life to lettering. We left extensive OpenType features and technical stuff aside for a moment, adding later only what we thought was necessary, like different shapes for the Q, a and g - for example. All caps setting was something we wanted from the beginning. In text case, the x-height is rather short for a brush script, and this lends a quirky voice. Spacing is ultra tiiiiight so don’t go too small, but make it as big as you want! Ah! And there are some fun dingbats thrown in for good measure.

Neo Sans began as an intriguing assignment from a branding agency. The agency’s client wanted an “ultra modern” type family that was "futuristic without being gimmicky or ephemeral.” When a bureaucratic decision cancelled the project, Monotype staff designer Sebastian Lester decided to finish the design on his own. “I was left with a sketchbook full of ideas,” he said, “and thought it would be a shame not to see what came of them.” Lester decided that the principal ingredient of an "ultra modern" typeface was simplicity of character structure: a carefully drawn, monoline form, open letter shapes and smooth, strong curves. By further amplifying these qualities, he crossed the line from modern to futuristic. Two highly functional and versatile typefaces emerged. These are Neo Sans and Neo Tech, designs Lester describes as "legible without being neutral, nuanced without being fussy, and expressive without being distracting." Both the Neo Sans and the more minimalist Neo Tech families are available in six weights, ranging from Light to Ultra, with companion italics. Neo Tech offers a suite of alternate characters.

I arrived this concept as a means to fulfil a need for a simple yet radical semi-sans with rounded terminals. My concept called for a modular approach so a single weight font family resulted, the monoline stroke weights being one-eighth of the cap height and the x-height five-eights, the descent two units. Within these constraints I found it was simple to devise an alphabet which met my need for quirkiness whilst retaining its legibility. As for the outline, shadow and contour variants - well they just seem to work. If you are wondering - and you don't hail from the "Land Downunder" - Canberra is our nation's capital; Bondi - "water breaking over rocks" a beautiful beach in Sydney; Uluru is the name given to the world's largest pebble, (formerly known as Ayers Rock); Kakadu is a national park in the "Top End" and Koomerang means "hill of clouds" - all place names in their respective Australian indigenous languages. The idea was to create a package containing prominent tag styles of graffiti strongholds like New York, Berlin and Paris. Shik (New York), Deon (Paris) and Etan (Berlin) came together to show the typical tag styles of their respective metropolitan areas. The fonts were digitized, spaced, kerned and programmed by Hannes von Döhren. The Subway Types are highly equipped. Each one consists of 4 alphabets (Uppercase, Lowercase, Small Caps & Swash). They also include ligatures and some specials like underlines and a huge range of accents for a wide language support. With the OpenType technology these features can be applied easily. For those who never used the OpenType features, we created the Std (Standard) and the SC (Small Caps) versions of the fonts. They contain the same basic characters like the OT versions but are split in two fonts. Hence you don’t need any OpenType knowledge to use the Std and SC fonts.

This typeface has the most important ingredient of all: love. So it’s not surprising that the font is called El Amor. The Adinkra alphabet is a way to write some of the languages spoken in Ghana and Ivory Coast, such as Akan, Dagbani, Ewe and Ga. It is a simplified version of the Adinkra symbols, and was introduced in 2015 by Charles M. Korankye, who has written a number of books about it. According to tradition, the Adinkra symbols were created by Nana Kwadwo Agyemang Adinkra, the King Gyaman people in the Ashanti region of Ghana from 1810 to 1820. Or they were created by Gyaman people, and the king liked them so much that he wore them on his clothes and named that after himself. The Adinkra symbols are used as decoration, logos, arts, sculpture, pottery and so on. The symbols represent sayings, proverbs or concepts, such as wisdom, authority, strength, unity, love adaptability, wealth, peace, war or agreement. Strangely, human beings fell in love for the stylistic inconsistencies of these fonts made for machines. In small sizes, Drop_it emulates the appearance of fonts in antique operational systems monitors. In large sizes, its structure is composed of capsules and pills allude the universe of medicines, drugs and rave culture. Drop_it Dingbats follow the the same grid of its alphabetic version, and can be used side by side in sign projects. DM PopCap is the third typeface released by DM Founts. It was created to accompany a 2013 LEGO-based project, which itself was inspired by the music video for Scream by Michael and Janet Jackson. I had to create the typeface in order to make title cards, as no such typeface appeared to exist. Although the resulting typeface looks similar to the text appearing in the music video, I also set myself the challenge of creating the remaining characters of the alphabet, as well as others that some would find useful. As suggested by the music video, the typeface would be ideal for a futuristic or technological setting, particularly concerning space travel. In the project I had paired this typeface with Myriad Pro. As with my other offerings, this font is intended for use heading or standalone title use - but it also appears to work on its own for small paragraphs of text.

Beatrix Antiqua is a humanist sans-serif typeface designed by Francesco Canovaro. Beatrix Antiqua is part of the Beatrix Family that takes its inspiration from the classic Roman monumental capital model: its capitals are directly derived from the stone carvings in Florence Santa Croce Cathedral - where the serifs are often removed while keeping the variable width strokes. So, even if it’s basically a sans-serif, Beatrix keeps a subtle swelling at the terminals suggesting a glyphic serif - in the same vein as Herman Zapf classic Optima typeface. In the lowercase design, Beatrix references early humanist typefaces, keeping small calligraphic details (as the prolongation of the e nose) that are especially visible in the italics. While Beatrix Antiqua, the companion typeface to Florentia , slightly exaggerates its antique stylistical features, Florentia tries to mix those influence with a more robust & digital age ready design, featuring bigger X-height and an extended character set that covers over forty languages using the latin alphabet, as well as Greek and Russian Cyrillic.

​​​​​​​In the past, in Argentina, it was common to attend to calligraphy classes during the first years of high school. That experience left a mark on me that over the years mixed up with my practice as a type designer. “Caligrafía Inglesa” is, basically, the spanish translation for the copperplate calligraphic style. This was the initial idea that led the spirit of the project, but from the beginning it started to develop a typographic personality of its own. The new Inglesa font comes in 6 weights –from a skinny monolinear to an elegant black– with a companion set of roman caps. The harmony in both styles transmits as a result, a strong english spirit but with a fresh latin spice, assuring the perfect combination for any elegant design. Inglesa Script includes a vast amount of alternates, endings and swashes, allowing the designers to create infinite combinations making any design unique. The Inglesa family supports a wide range of Latin alphabet-based languages.
