Modesto is a loose-knit family based on a signpainters lettering style popular in the late-19th and early-20th centuries. Font breeding is much like animal breeding, where stallion and mare, or bull and cow, or boar and sow are carefully matched in hopes of yielding a robust and useful offspring.
